Clary's POV
"Well done, Rose," I said with a smile, watching as she completed her task.
"Yeah, great job," Vega added, her voice calm but dripping with sarcasm.
Now, only Vega was left.
"Your turn," I said, turning to her.
But she seemed distracted, zoning out again.
I couldn't blame her entirely-Vega was a sight to behold.
Her sharp wit and carefree attitude made her both captivating and unpredictable.
Her dark blue eyes sparkled with mischief, always ready for a challenge, and her platinum-silver hair, which seemed to change color depending on her mood, gave her an almost ethereal quality. She was also a Metamorphmagus, adding another layer of intrigue.
But beyond all that, it was her humor and sarcasm that kept me on my toes.
Suddenly, someone called out to her.
"Hey, Vega, got your results?" Shawn (one of the heart throb of the school) and his gang had approached.
"Nope," Vega replied, not looking up from her thoughts. "But feel free to tell me about yours. I've got time."
"He got third in our year," Ash chimed in before Shawn could answer.
Vega nodded, but I noticed Shawn's eyes lingered on her.
"What?" Vega asked, catching his gaze with a raised eyebrow.
"Have you decided yet?" Shawn asked.
"I'm heading to Durmstrang tomorrow. What about you?"
"Hogwarts, I suppose," Vega said, shrugging it off like it was no big deal, though her eyes flickered toward the staff table as if she had something more important to focus on.
Alya frowned. "Why the change? Isn't our school good enough?"
Vega gave Alya a nonchalant look before turning back to Shawn. "What, you're upset that I might not be around to entertain you?" she quipped.
"I'm sure Durmstrang will keep you busy."
Shawn and Vega exchanged a glance, something unspoken passing between them.
Then, to everyone's surprise, Shawn kneeled and presented a small gift box.
"There you go, my Highness," he said with a grin, clearly trying to be charming.
Vega raised an eyebrow, her expression unreadable. "What's this?" she asked.
"My mom told me to give it to you. Happy Birthday, Vega," Shawn said, his voice warm.
Vega smirked, barely holding back her laughter. "Thanks, my dear Shawn," she replied with playful mockery, making everyone-including me-freeze in shock.
"Goddamn, I thought he was proposing for a second," Rose muttered, her eyes wide in disbelief.
"Yes, man, you gave us a fright!" Alya added.
"Shawnnnn...." I couldn't help but giggle, but before anyone could say anything else, a staff member approached.
"Miss Malfoy, sorry for the delay. Here are your results," the woman said, handing over an envelope.
"Open it!"
I urged, and the others nodded eagerly.
Vega sighed dramatically but complied, pulling out her result sheet. She glanced at it and sighed again, though this time something seemed off.
Then, she pulled out a second letter from the envelope, her expression unreadable.
Alya and Rose snatched the first letter from her hands and gasped.
"What the heck is wrong with you, girl? You scored O in everything!" Alya exclaimed.
Curious, we all crowded around Rose, who read Vega's results aloud:

"Vega! How do you stay so calm after results like this?" I exclaimed.
"It was all theory writing," she shrugged nonchalantly, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "Not exactly difficult stuff."
We all rolled our eyes at her modesty. Suddenly, a young girl ran over, calling out, "Eta, the Headmistress wants to see you!"
Vega blinked in confusion. "Me?" she asked, pointing at herself.
The girl nodded, but Vega looked irritated.
"Kid, it's Zeta, not Eta," she said flatly.
"I said the same thing-Eta," the girl replied innocently.
Vega groaned. "It's ZZE-TA. Or better yet, call me VEGA, if you want to be fancy."
"EE-TA, ETA , same thing," the girl insisted.
"Why can't she stress on the ZEE," Vega muttered under her breath, making us laugh.
"I'll be right there," Vega said, dismissing the girl with a wave of her hand. The girl left happily, completely unaware of the trouble she had just caused.
Turning back to us, Vega sighed again, rolling her eyes.
"Okay, guys, I'm off," she said with a grin and a wink, then walked away.
I watched her disappear, still a little awestruck by her effortless confidence.
"How does she manage everything?" someone in the group asked.
Alya shrugged. "We don't know, and she won't tell us either."
Vega's carefreeness and her sarcastic wit never failed to leave me amused. But there was something about the way she carried herself-so confident, so daring and MAN her simplicity-that made me feel... well, something more than just admiration.
Maybe it was just a crush.
Maybe it was the way she could make everything seem so effortless.
Either way, I was hooked.
