"Who's calling me so early?" Rose murmured, groggily picking up her phone.
"Hello! Eve, where are you? I hope you remember, our induction is today!" Stella's excited voice rang through the line.
Rose sighed, rubbing her eyes as she sat up. "I remember, but why are you calling so early?"
"Rose, it's already 8 A.M.! I'm on my way to the university."
"What? I'm late!" Rose gasped, jumping out of bed. "I need to get ready. See you there! Love you!" She quickly ended the call, rushing to get ready.
After an hour of meticulous effort, Rose looked stunning in her blue Chanel dress, paired with sleek black heels and her black Dior bag. As she hurried out of her apartment, her phone rang again—Stella was calling.
"Rose, where are you? We've only got 20 minutes before the induction starts!" Stella's anxious voice echoed through the phone.
"Don't worry, Stell. I'll be there in 10 minutes," Rose assured her, dashing towards her car.
"Alright, see you in 10 minutes!" Stella replied, sounding a bit more relieved.
Rose ended the call and quickly slid into the driver's seat, ready to make it just in time.
As Rose arrived at the university, she quickly found a parking spot and parked her car. While fumbling through her bag to retrieve her phone, she accidentally bumped into someone.
"Sorry!" she apologized hastily, not even glancing up, as she hurried towards the auditorium where Stella was waiting for her.
"Hey, Stell!" Rose called out, rushing over to embrace her friend.
"Oh, Rose! Finally, you're here!" Stella hugged her back and kissed her cheek. "You look stunning today!"
"Stop it, Stella, you're going to make me blush. But look at you! That black dress is a showstopper," Rose complimented.
"Come on, let's grab a seat before we're left standing," Stella said, dragging Rose inside the auditorium. They found seats in the second row and chatted away as they waited for the induction to begin.
Stella leaned over and whispered, "Rose, look at that hottie. He might be a senior—he's so handsome!"
Rose glanced up, only to see an older professor in a black suit. She rolled her eyes. "Are you talking about that professor?"
Stella looked up, realizing the guy was gone. "No! He was here, I swear! But now he's gone."
"Stella, you might be hallucinating," Rose teased with a laugh.
"Maybe you're right," Stella sighed, turning her attention back to the stage, disappointed.
After the induction, they headed to the cafeteria for lunch. As they sat down, Stella noticed something missing. "Rose, where's your bracelet? The one you always wear?"
Rose gasped, looking down at her wrist. "Oh no! Where is it? I must have dropped it somewhere!" She quickly got up and began searching for it, but despite looking everywhere, the bracelet was nowhere to be found.
