Time passed unknowingly until the evening, and I was sitting at the dinner table, lost in thought. Suddenly, my dad asked, "What's wrong with you, Leng Chen? You seem a bit off. Is something going on?"
I was caught off guard, quickly replying, "Ah, it's nothing, nothing."
At that moment, my mom came over with three bowls of rice, noticing my strange expression, and asked with concern, "What's wrong? Are you okay?"
I shook my head, quietly replying, "I'm fine, just a bit tired."
My mom nodded, "Then finish your dinner and get some rest early."
I responded with, "Okay," but my mind still lingered on the vision I had just seen, unwilling to leave me.
After dinner, it was already close to 8 PM. I lay in bed, my mind repeatedly replaying the vision from earlier. The image frightened me, and I began to hesitate, wondering if I should continue. However, a certain obsession deep inside me wouldn't allow me to quit.
It hadn't been easy to get this far.
For as long as I could remember, I had always told myself that I wasn't interested in anything. But deep down, I knew I was lying to myself. The truth was, I lacked talent. No matter what I tried, I always seemed ordinary. Compared to those around me, I could only stay stagnant. But this was not the life I wanted.
Two years ago, I stumbled upon meditation, mysticism, and those strange, extraordinary events. Since then, I seemed to have found something to hold onto—my desire to explore the unknown drove me to keep going.
But the people around me never believed in any of this. They would always speak down to me, saying: "Reading, sports, and crafts, you can't even do those right, and yet you still indulge in these meaningless fantasies." "Study hard, find a stable job—that's the proper thing to do. Stop chasing after unrealistic things."
Their words were like cold chains, trying to trap me in a narrow cage. But I couldn't accept it—this world couldn't be so simple.
Were all the rules and common sense they constantly drilled into me through textbooks, classrooms, and their mouths truly everything? I didn't believe it! This world is vast beyond my imagination. How could everything be explained just by reason and logic? Impossible.
I lowered my head, clenching my fists tightly. My fingers trembled slightly, but a stubborn belief burned inside me.
This belief pushed me to break free from the doubts and ridicule around me. Even if, to them, I was just a "failure" consumed by fantasy, I knew I couldn't give up.
I took a deep breath, slowly exhaling, trying to push away the chaos in my mind. I made a decision—I would explore whatever lay ahead, no matter what it was.
I crossed my legs, placed my hands gently on my knees. I closed my eyes, allowing my body to relax, breathing steadily, and letting my consciousness merge into the rhythm of meditation.
Moments later, I entered that strange state again—a deep meditation. My senses gradually detached from my body, as though I was sinking into another world.
Unlike the apocalyptic scene I had seen before, this time, in front of me was a decaying city. Everything here was filled with an old, musty air, as though it had been abandoned by time long ago. The towering buildings had long since fallen into disrepair, their walls cracked and covered in moss.
The sky was dark and lifeless, as if thick clouds weighed down the air, making it hard to breathe. Weak light filtered through broken windows, casting eerie shadows on the ground. There were no people, no sounds—everything was silent to the point of being unnerving.
I looked around, an inexplicable sense of fear and loneliness rising within me. This dilapidated city seemed to be telling a story, hiding secrets unknown to anyone.
I held my breath, trying to stay calm, attempting to catch any clues hidden in the shadows. Yet, everything around me seemed to draw my consciousness deeper, like a bottomless abyss pulling me further in...
When I came to my senses, I found myself standing in a different part of the city.
I nearly panicked and exited the meditation state—this deep meditation felt so surreal, as if I had been pulled from reality into a strange dimension.
I forced myself to stay calm, knowing that getting overly excited might disconnect me from this state. So, I tried to remain quiet, avoiding any disturbances.
I looked around, noticing that some places seemed off. Some buildings and scenes appeared blurry.
I stood by the road, and the building in front of me seemed to fade away, like an image in my consciousness being diluted. What was going on? Why was this happening?
What startled me even more was the unusual state of my body. I carefully examined myself, and it hit me—no, this wasn't my physical body at all.
This was the "body" in my consciousness state, but it was extraordinarily powerful.
I glanced at a broken-down car on the side of the road, and a sudden impulse surged through me. I tried to lift it.
To my surprise, with a simple effort, I easily lifted the car with one hand.
This car weighed at least a ton—something I could never have done in reality.
But now, it felt so light, as if there were no physical limits restricting me.
Then, almost without thinking, I lightly jumped and soared, reaching a height of about ten meters in a single leap.
Suspended in the air, I felt the lightness and strength of my body, as if gravity no longer had any hold on me.
Everything felt so unreal, as if the world I was in was no longer bound by the laws of physics.
