He approaches her friend,Emily and confides in her about his feelings.Emily was taken aback but also curious
"why do you like Clara"?Emily questioned
"i'm interested in her,her kindness,intelligence and beauty"Jason replied
"Alright,i'll talk to her"
Emily decides to approach Clara during lunch in school
"Clara,i want to talk to you about Jason"Emily said
"What's wrong with him?" Clara asked not intrested about the topic
"He's had feelings for you for a while now"Emily replied
"Wow,i had no idea!what made him tell you?Clara questioned
"He wanted to get your attention,but he's too shy.He thought i could help since i'm your friend"
"That's so sweet of him but am not interested,am just 17 and Jason is 20,and you know we are the next students writing WAEC after Jason's set,so i have to focus on my studies"Clara Replied gazing through her phone
"I know what you kean,but Jason is a good guy,and he said he's gonna meet you during the school end of the year party...
Clara got home thinking about her discussion with Emily,a part of her want to be loved,and another part of her is scared.she agreed to meet him at the end of the year party to hear what he wants to tell her
The day of the party arrives,and Clara's nervous, as she enters the auditorium,she scans the room for him..He's standing near the stage,looking a bit out of place among the crowd of students,when their eyes meet,he smiles nervously and begins to make his way towards her.As he approaches her,Clara can feel her heart racing,she's not sure what to expect,but she's eager to hear what he has to say.He stops in front of her,he takes a deep breath
"i've wanted to tell you something for a while now",he says,his voice trembling slightly". I think you are an amazing person,and i was wondering if you'd like to go out with me"
Clara's heart skips a beat as she processes his words.she looks into his eyes,searching for sincerity and she finds it
"i'm flattered by your interest"Clara managed to say,but i need some time to think about it.can i give you an answer later?"
Jason nods understandingly,looking a bit dissapointed but still hopeful
. "of course,take all the time you need,i just wanted to be honest with you about how i feel"
Clara smiles kindly and thanks him for his sincerity.They part ways leaving her to ponder his proposal.
