Tommy held Emma as they both left the mansion. The other guests were alerted about the fire so they all went outside.
Tommy and Emma got outside the mansion and then the fire department with an ambulance arrived.
"Well that was fast." Emma said to herself.
"What did you say?" Tommy asked.
"No it's nothing."
"Alright, your hand." Tommy noticed Emma's hand.
"Yeah it's just a little burn." Emma said.
"The ambulance is here, let's get you treated."
The firemen ran into the mansion with some of the paramedics. Tommy and Emma were already at one of the ambulance and they were wrapping a bandage around Emma's hand.
The paramedics came out of the mansion with Gabriel and Rachel and all eyes were on them, Rachel has regained consciousness and they went to the other ambulance.
Michael walked up to Tommy and Emma, "Well she is okay, thankfully she did not inhale too much smoke, she just need enough rest and she will be completely okay." The paramedic that was treating Emma said.
"Thanks." Emma said to the paramedic.
"At least we are sure that you are okay now." Tommy said.
"Yeah, I am glad you are okay." Michael said. "Honestly the fire was strange but now that the ambulance are here the founders will be okay, they are not in any life threatening situation." He explained.
"Well that is nice to hear." Tommy said.
"Yeah it is." Emmy concord.
"You do understand what you just did Emma." Michael said. "You saved the founders lives, without what you did they might have died."
"That is true, that was really heroic of you." Tommy said.
"I just happened to be there at that moment and I managed to do what I could." Emma said.
"You really don't have to be modest about it. What you did, not everyone would be able to do it under that kind of pressure, and I am sure that if it was me I wouldn't have been able to that do that." Michael said.
A car quickly came into the compound of the mansion and stopped, Emma looked at the car and she saw that it was Julian's car. She started to wonder when he left the mansion then remembered the argument he had with his girlfriend and how he left.
Julian quickly came out the car and went straight to his parents.
"Where was he when all this was happening?" Tommy asked from nowhere.
"So can we start going now, can you take me home Tommy?"
"Yeah sure of course." Tommy replied.
Tommy was now having mix feelings about telling Emma about how he really feels about her because of everything that happened. He was not sure if it was the right time and he also knew that he will not get another chance to spend time with Emma like this, at least not for a while.
He decided to tell her, the day was not over yet and he will be taking her back home so it will just be the both of them, that will be when he will tell her.
"I will stay here a bit longer, you two can get going, Emma needs to rest. And you both don't need to come to work tomorrow." Michael said.
"They are coming towards us." Tommy said.
"Who are?" Emma looked forward as she asked.
Gabriel, Rachel and Julian were walking up to them and when they arrived, Rachel held Emma's hand.
"We do not know how to begin to thank you for what you did, you saved our lives." Rachel said.
"It is alright, the most important thing is that you two are safe." Emma replied.
"No, what you need here was grave and quick thinking, so if there is anything you want, anything at all just tell us." Gabriel said.
"There is nothing I want, I am okay, thank you."
"I know this is too much to ask of you after what you just did but is it because of what you did that I have to ask." Rachel said. "I want you marry our son, Julian."
Emma was not sure if she heard her correctly, and she was not the only one, Julian, Tommy and Michael were shocked.
"Yes, we want you to become our daughter-in-law, you are smart and hardworking and after what you just did, I think you will be fit for it." Gabriel added.
The question overwhelmed Emma, she did not know what to say so she just stood there looking at them.
"Mother, father." Julian called his parents. "What is this, I don't understand what is happening now."
It was clear to Emma that Julian had no idea about the question his parent's asked her but it did not change anything.
"Yes, your father and I decided on this when our lives were saved." Rachel said to Julian.
"But mother, this is not something that you should be deciding especially when it concerns me."
"We almost died today and where were you? You were nowhere to be found and you were supposed to be close to us today." Rachel said.
Now Rachel emotionally blackmailed Julian and he was not expecting it, he was still getting over what just happened to his parents, how they almost died and he was not around.
"Today was a reminder that even if we are old and our lives are short, our lives can also end at any moment. So we want to see you get married and see our grandchildren, it is not too much ask?" Gabriel said.
Julian did not know what to say, their blackmail was working and he did not say anything else, he just stood there.
"So what do you say, will you marry our son?" Rachel asked Emma again.
Emma was still overwhelmed but she knew that she had to say something. She had no intention of marriage especially now, she have not reached her goals and she did not know if she would be able to do that if she gets married.
"I am really sorry but I don't think that can happen, I have no intention of marrying." Emma managed to say.
"Please reconsider, you don't have to get married soon. We will get the both of you engaged, then after that you two can get married." Rachel insisted.
Rachel persisted with her offer and Emma did not know what to do, Julian was not okay with the idea but with what his parents said to him, he could not say anything against them.
The question kept on going through Emma's head, she thought about what will happen if she actually rejects the offer. They are the founders of the company she works in, she thought about what they could do to her.
"Okay, I will marry your son." Emma finally said.
