My heart almost jumped out of my chest. "I…I am fine, Lord Chris," I answered and I crawled backwards. I just wanted to stay away from him as much as I could.
I already knew I was in big trouble. He gazed at me like he wanted to devour me right there.
Francis wasn't around and I knew no one would dare to question Lord Chris if he tried to do anything to me.
"Are you refusing my offer, Princess Aurora?" He asked and I shook my head.
"There…. there is really no need for you to make it up to you, Lord Chris. I am fine," I answered, stealing glances at his wife who laid unconscious on the ground.
Lord Chris chuckled. "My wife, Agatha acted like an idoit. It is only normal that I set things right between us," he said, still with a smirk on his face.
"Thank you so much, Lord, but I think it's better that you attend to your wife. She is unconscious…and…I don't know if she's okay," I spoke.
His eyes turned red. "Do you think that I have forgotten about the conversation we had weeks ago?" He asked and his hands grabbed my neck.
I shook my head and my eyes were welled up with tears. "Lord…. Lord Chris," I cried, choking.
"Do not make me angry. There's no need for me to get violent with you. It's time that you give me my answer as to whether or not you would want to get married to me," he said.
Lord Chris let go of my neck and grabbed me by my wrist. He dragged me out of the room and I had to run behind him.
I had no idea of what he was going to do to me. I cried like child begging for him to let go of me, but the wizard didn't listen.
No one was willing to help.
All the guards watched as he took me away and the maids fled for their lives.
We finally got into the room and Lord Chris locked the door behind.
His hungry eyes landed on me and all that I could do was cry. It was obvious he wouldn't let me go this time.
Lord Chris's eyes turned blue again and his hands gently wiped my tears off. "I do not like to get violent with the woman that I love. I love being sweet and gentle. I heard it's what women want," he whispered, smiling meekly and he walked me towards the table.
"Lord Chris, please I beg you. What are people going to say if… if they find out that you and his highness want the same woman?"
Lord Chris smiled. "Francis doesn't want you and you know it. He has been away for weeks. Don't you long to be touched?" He asked, a flash of lust appeared in his eyes.
I shook my head. "Please. You can find another woman. Your wife loves you. People would only see me as a whore and the would tag you as a betrayer," I said.
"Let them say and think whatever they want to. Or don't you want a man who is willing to fight for you?" Lord Chris asked and I didn't even know what to say.
I already knew it was the end for me. He was definitely going to turn me into a tool that satisfies his wants. Francis would hate me and he might even kill me.
I knew Lord Chris would as well dump and abandon me if he got what he wanted and once again, I would be left alone; hated.
"Do you want some tea?" He asked me as he tucked my hair behind my ear.
"No," I answered and my whole body felt numb.
I was so scared and I was sure that he could see it.
"So darling, and what's your answer? Are you getting married to me or not?" He asked and I immediately started crying.
No wasn't an option, and yes was a ticket to my misfortune.
"You do not have to be scared, my princess. Just give me a very honest answer and…I would take it. I really just want to know whether or not you would like to be with me. All my life, I have always wanted to know what it feels like to be loved…and my heart tells me that the feeling can only come with you," he said and his eyes were welled up with tears.
Was he being sincere?
Was he really crying?
"I wouldn't want to force you into loving me. Just let me know whether it's a yes or no," he said and he held my hands. He held me tight and I looked into his eyes.
I just couldn't lie. I couldn't imagine getting married to someone like him. Lord Chris was a monster.
"No," I answered and that melancholy in his eyes immediately turned into greed and anger.
He laughed, carried me and threw me on the bed. "And you think that I would let you go?" He asked, laughing and I didn't know where the ropes came from, but I was tied to the bedpost, Just like he had promised.
"Give me a minute, I'll like to have a bath before having you, princess," he whispered, before walking into the bathroom.

*********
Francis stormed into the room with his beaming with worry and fear.
His skin looked like he now had scales, but those scales had traces of fire in them. His body emitted heat and Francis' breathing was heavy. "Mala!" He called, searching every corner of the room.
"Mala!" Francis called louder.
"Where are you!" Francis growled and he found Agatha laying unconscious on the ground. His whole body burned with anger as the thought of Mala being in trouble ran through his mind. "Damn! I need that girl! Mala!" He growled.
Francis stormed out of the room and all the guards dropped to the ground with their heads bowed. "Where is Mala?" Francis asked as his voice held a level of authority that could only be found with him.
The guards were in the tightest spot. They wouldn't dare to mention Lord Chris's name and at the same time, lying to Francis was the same as commiting suicide.
"His highness!" Sir. Oliver called, running towards him. He must have heard about what happened.
"Can I?" Sir. Oliver asked and they walked back into the room.
Francis' whole body was streaming with sweat and his eyes were red. Lord Chris had never seen Francis like that. "What's going on, your highness? Is everything okay? Did anything happen?" Sir. Oliver asked.
"I need to see Mala," Francis growled.
"Your highness, Mala is currently with Lord Chris. He is definitely going to kill her like he does to the other women. It's to our advantage….leave her with him. If she's the cause of this, then her death would definitely bring relief," Sir. Oliver suggested but instead of an approval from Francis, Francis held his neck and pinned him against the wall.
"Chris took Mala and you didn't stop him?" Francis sneered. "Listen, if anything happens to her? I would burn the whole of Crescent and every thing in it!"
