Chapter 6 - I Know You

(Inside the Pharmacy Installation Room)

"Mel.., Has the drug concoction for the patient named Yuliono Iwan been completed?", asked a senior pharmacist to a junior pharmacist.

"Yes, sis, this is for a patient named Hani Widyasari, it's also finished," replied the young pharmacist.

"Nice. Thanks!", replied the senior with a smile.

Inside the Pharmacy Installation room at this time, several pharmacists were seen busy concocting medicine.

There were also several pharmacists who were specifically on guard in front of the pharmacy counter to hand it directly to the patients while telling them the rules for taking the medicine.

Doctor Zein who was currently in front of the Pharmacy Installation, immediately went inside.

"Good afternoon everyone.. Wow, are you all busy?", greeted Doctor Zein smiling friendly to the pharmacists.

"Oh, Doc... Good afternoon. Yeah, there are a lot of patients today," answered Dini, the Head of Pharmacist.

"Today is quite busy. HeHe..", said another pharmacist.

"Okay, have a good work. I just want to check here. Don't feel disturbed, okay?", said Doctor Zein in response to Dini and the pharmacists there.

"No problem doc, please continue your work", replied Dini, the Head of Pharmacist.

"It's okay to stay here all day, Doc. I'm willing. So I can keep seeing you, Doc," Dini said to herself.

Dini has long admired Doctor Zein's authority. Apart from his charisma, of course because of his good looks.

We go back to the time when Dini first entered Derisa Hospital, about 5 years ago, coincidentally at that time she should not have been accepted to work at this hospital.

Because of Doctor Zein, head of HR at that time immediately changed their mind and accepted Dini to work at this hospital.

Therefore, Dini always considers Doctor Zein as her idol and savior. In addition, to prove that this hospital did not make the wrong choice, Dini became a diligent, meticulous, and very thorough person.

The results can be seen now. Two years after Dini was accepted to work, Dini was directly promoted to become the Head of Pharmacist at Derisa Hospital.

(Back to Doctor Zein's work)

When Doctor Zein was checking several shelves of medicines that were considered no longer suitable for use, suddenly his eyes fell on a hijab woman who wore a black and white uniform.

It was confirmed that she was a new pharmacist. And what was even more surprising, it seemed that Doctor Zein knew her.

"Are you a new pharmacist?", asked Doctor Zein to Melati, the new pharmacist.

"Oh.. yes, Doc.. I've only been interning here for 3 days.. I'm also still.. Hey, you're that guy, right?...", answered Melati, the new pharmacist, surprised, who also felt like she knew Doctor Zein.

Doctor Zein laughed, "Haha... yes, at that time I wanted to buy the drug L*******" (sorry, I censored the name of the drug, for fear of being charged with a violation).

"Oh yes... I remember sir, eh sorry doc..", answered Melati remembering her first meeting with Doctor Zein.

The new pharmacist was named Melati Dewi Arwiena, 22 years old. Before working at Derisa Hospital, Melati had worked at Firma Baru Pharmacy as a pharmacist's assistant at the pharmacy.

(Flashback story when Melati first met Doctor Zein)

A few months ago, Doctor Zein, who was on his way home after visiting one of his friends' houses, did not know why he felt itchy on several parts of his hands.

Several small lumps appeared and were quite disturbing for Doctor Zein. Finally, Doctor Zein decided to buy medicine for itching and allergies at the pharmacy that he would later pass.

And coincidentally, he saw Firma Baru Pharmacy. So Doctor Zein stopped by to buy allergy medicine.

That's where she met Melati for the first time. Immediately, Melati served Doctor Zein in a friendly manner.

"Please, sir," Melati greeted Doctor Zein.

"Yes Miss, I want to buy L******** medicine, just 1 strip of tablets", Doctor Zein replied.

"Did you bring the prescription, sir?", Melati asked Doctor Zein.

"Oh Miss, so it's like this, actually I'm also a doctor, but I didn't bring the prescription paper", Doctor Zein answered with a little resignation.

"Is there a medical ID card that I can see, Sir?" Melati asked Doctor Zein again.

"At my house, Miss. I don't have it with me at the moment. I just came from a friend's house, I don't have any identification with me", answered Doctor Zein again.

Indeed, this was Doctor Zein's bad habit from the past, always not bringing any ID when he went to his friend's place. Even identification such as an ID card, he rarely brings it.

Doctor Zein only brought his vehicle and a few sheets of cash when he visited his friends' house. The reason is because her house is quite close.

"Sorry then, sir, you can't buy this medicine," said Melati firmly even though she knew her current actions were high risk because she refused a doctor.

But the rules are still rules. They must not be violated. That is Melati's principle.

"Okay, I'll just buy C********", Doctor Zein looked for an alternative medicine that had almost the same efficacy as the first medicine.

"That also requires a prescription, sir," Melati added.

'I've been a doctor for almost 20 years, and I don't even know what medicines are available without a prescription. It's so annoying,' Doctor Zein said to himself.

"Okay Miss, I'll just buy I******, 1 strip", Doctor Zein looked for other medicines again and again.

"Well, that medicine can be bought without a doctor's prescription, sir. Please wait a moment", Melati said then went to the medicine shelf.

"Excuse me sir, how many are there? The ones with 4 or 10?" asked Melati again.

"Just 10 is fine," Doctor Zein replied.

Melati nodded then immediately handed the medicine to Doctor Zein.

"All of them are 15k Rupiahs. Please, sir," Melati said politely and kindly.

Doctor Zein just nodded, then paid for the medicine with a fifty thousand bill.

After getting the change, Doctor Zein immediately put the change into the donation box near the display case without thinking twice.

"Thank you Miss. See you...", said Doctor Zein again before leaving Firma Baru Pharmacy.

"You're welcome, sir. Be careful on the road", answered Melati with a smile and looked straight at Doctor Zein.

'If you are really a doctor, I hope we can work in the same hospital someday', Melati unconsciously prayed in her heart. Melati at that time had fallen in love and admired Doctor Zein.

Back to the present, where Doctor Zein and Melati were seen laughing together remembering their silliness at that time. Although Melati was a little embarrassed, what else could she do.

"Dini, look..!! That new kid joking with Doctor Zein", said one of the senior pharmacists named Hannah to Dini, the Head of Pharmacist.

"Gosh, I have another love rival", replied Dini with a resigned sigh.

(At Mr. Abdullah's house)

"What the heck?!", shouted someone who was on the phone, starting one of the house's residents.

It was Hameed, who was now calling Zara. Hearing the scream, Mr. Abdullah checked where the sound was coming from.

"حميد !!! غبي!!! ما هذا؟"

("Hameed!!! You're a jerk!!! What's wrong with you?!"), asked Mr. Abdullah.

"لا شيء يا عم، كل شيء آمن، هاهاها"

("Nothing's wrong Uncle, it's safe, Ha.. Ha.. Ha.."), replied Hameed.

While still cursing and annoyed with Hameed's behavior, Mr. Abdullah finally left Hameed.

"So, you were serious just now say that to Zein?!" Hameed said in disbelief.

"Yes, seriously, if you don't believe me, just ask Uncle Zein yourself," said Zara now, sounding sharp.

"Wow.. now you call him uncle?!", said Hameed while shaking his head.

"Honestly, I'm embarrassed if my friends know Uncle Zein's age", replied Zara with an excuse.

"Zara, you really refused the diamond..", replied Hameed to Zara.

"What do you mean?", replied Zara a little confused.

"Anyway, I remind you, don't regret it later!", Hameed threatens Zara because he is annoyed with Zara's annoying attitude.

"If I regretted it, I wouldn't have said that to Uncle Zein," Zara answered again.

"Enough, you are so annoying, Salamu aleykom..", Hameed said and hung up the phone.

"Aleykom assalam", replied Zara answering Hameed's greeting.

"Why did Hameed defend uncle Zein? What is uncle Zein really like, ahh.. damn it!!", muttered Zara then continued her activities.

(Afternoon at 04.00 pm, Derisa Hospital)

Because today he did not do any practice and only 'walked around' in the hospital, Doctor Zein felt quite tired. Now it was time to go home.

When he was going to pick up his car in the special parking lot for doctors, Doctor Zein happened to see Melati who was calling someone.

"Yes, Uncle. I'm currently working at Derisa Hospital, but I'm still a new employee. So what do you think? Can you pick me up now?" Melati asked someone on the phone.

"Gosh, Mel, why do you have to work at that hospital, not another hospital?", replied Melati's uncle.

"Why, uncle, this is a big hospital, the salary is also satisfying", replied Melati arguing.

"I'll tell you later, where are you now?", asked Melati's uncle.

"In front of the hospital, close to the security post," replied Melati again.

"Okay, don't go anywhere. I'll come to pick you up soon," replied Uncle Melati once again.

Melati just said yes and then hung up. At that time Melati saw Doctor Zein who was walking towards her.

'This doctor is indeed handsome, very tall. My height is only up to his shoulders, even though I am 160 cm tall, not short either, right?', Melati muttered to herself.

(Heart beat sound)

That was the sound of Melati's heartbeat which was very irregular when she saw Doctor Zein walking towards her.

'Oh my God, why is this doctor coming this close?! Aahhh...this is making my heart race,' Melati grumbled again in her heart.
