Catarina sat on the patio, her red eyes focused on the horizon as the sun dipped below the skyline. She absentmindedly twirled a glossy strand of her long black hair, her thoughts churning with a mix of warmth for her triplets and cold determination about her past.
"Secrets unravel like ribbons, don't they?" she murmured softly, her voice as gentle as the breeze. Catarina grabbed her suitcase and she walked straight down the hallway her eyes landed on her parents who raised her, her mother Rosemary seemed to be excited that the fake daughter was going her father David was kind about it.
"Catarina do you have everything?" David asked. Catarina was cold and indifferent she just nodded her head her eyes landed on the front door.
"Sister," Evelyn said acting like she cares about her but Catarina wasn't a fool.
"Thank you," Catarina said simply and she turned away. Her eyes landed in the sky and she saw flying cars.
Catarina was a woman with secrets when she was fourteen years old she mysteriously got pregnant soon enough she became a teen mother countless of people have be little her but she has never cared about she only loved her triplets now it has been what four to five years now her triplets where little genius no matter how one can think her kids had high IQ and weren't easy to mess with. A taxi landed on the ground and Catarina asked to go to the airport. Her kids lived in New York City with the nanny she hired and she always visited them more time then she can count and called them many times.
As the taxi sped towards the airport, Catarina's thoughts drifted to her triplets. She couldn't wait to see them, to hug them tight and hear their clever words. She smiled, feeling a warmth in her chest, a feeling she reserved only for her children.
"I wonder what they've learned today," she mused, her eyes sparkling with pride. The taxi driver glanced at her in the rearview mirror, but Catarina's gaze was already a thousand miles away, with her little geniuses.
As she stepped out of the taxi and onto the bustling airport terminal, Catarina's presence drew more than a few admiring glances. Despite the face mask, her piercing eyes and raven hair seemed to command attention, and her slender yet athletic physique was evident even under her elegant, high-end attire. Heads turned as she walked, and whispers followed in her wake, but Catarina remained indifferent, her focus solely on reaching her destination and reuniting with her beloved triplets.
As she walked through the airport, Catarina's long legs carried her swiftly through the crowds, her heels clicking on the polished floor. She expertly navigated the throngs of people, her eyes scanning the departures board for her flight to New York City. Her gaze lingered for a moment on a small café, and she felt a sudden craving for strawberry shortcake, her favorite treat. But she pushed on, her priority being her children, not indulging her sweet tooth. With a swift motion, she pulled out her Zren phone a holographic screen appeared. She called a number.
The holographic screen flickered to life, displaying the image of a warm and smiling face - Mrs. White, the nanny who had been taking care of her triplets in New York City.
"Catarina, darling! I'm so glad you called. The triplets are doing wonderfully, as always. They've been asking for you nonstop, and I've had to distract them with extra lessons and playtime." Mrs. White's eyes sparkled with amusement.
"Astrid has been learning Mandarin, and the twins have been getting into a bit of mischief, as usual. I'll fill you in on all the details when you arrive. Your flight is on schedule, I presume?"
"Yes but Mrs. White no need to pick me up you most likely already hard but I am an imposter and my biological family is poor, I got a text from the eldest brother said that I he will pick me up, since the triplets go to elementary school I will pick them up tomorrow it will be a surprise for them," Catarina said she was cold when she said those words.
"I understand I will not tell the twins plus the Evans Family never treated you well maybe your biological family won't be assholes." Catarina chuckled she closed her eyes.
"Ummm okay bye," she said and hanged up.
Catarina's eyes snapped open, and she gazed at the holographic screen as it dissolved into nothingness. A faint, wry smile played on her lips, but her eyes remained cold and detached. She slipped her Zren phone back into her pocket and continued walking towards her gate, her long strides eating up the distance. As she walked, she felt a sense of detachment wash over her, a familiar feeling that had become her armor in the face of uncertainty. The Evans family's rejection still lingered, a wound that would take time to heal, but Catarina's thoughts were already focused on the unknown that lay ahead - her biological family, and the surprises that awaited her.
As she approached the gate, Catarina's gaze drifted towards the departures board once more, her eyes scanning the flight information with a practiced air of detachment. She nodded to herself, confirming that her flight was still on schedule, and then turned her attention to the people milling about the gate. Her eyes swept the area, taking in the familiar sights and sounds of the airport, but her mind was already elsewhere, focused on the reunion with her triplets and the uncertain meeting with her biological family. With a quiet sense of resolve, Catarina took a seat at the gate, her eyes fixed on the door that would lead her to her next destination.
As she sat down, Catarina's thoughts began to drift towards her biological family, and the eldest brother who would be picking her up from the airport. She wondered what he would be like, whether he would be warm and welcoming, or cold and distant. Her mind was a jumble of questions and uncertainties, but one thing was clear - she would be on her guard, ready for anything that came her way. Catarina's eyes narrowed slightly, her gaze fixed on some point in the distance, as she steeled herself for the unknown that lay ahead. She heard that her family is poor like really poor. But who knows.
Catarina's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the boarding announcement, and she rose from her seat, her movements fluid and economical. She joined the queue of passengers boarding the flight, her eyes scanning the crowd with a practiced air of detachment. As she walked down the jetway, Catarina's mind returned to her biological family, and the eldest brother who would be picking her up. She wondered what their living situation would be like, whether it would be a small, cramped apartment or a rundown house on the outskirts of town. The thought of poverty and hardship didn't faze her, though - Catarina had faced her share of challenges before, and she was ready for whatever lay ahead. With a quiet sense of determination, she boarded the plane, her eyes fixed on the future.
