Synopsis

1. Pearl High

She stopped running, gasping for air as she stole another glance behind her to see if she's still been chased.

Visible cuts could be seen all over her body as fresh blood oozed out from the opening.

" Who the hell are you?" she cried. There's no one in the school premises, and the way she got there is still a mystery to her.

Chilly breeze blew across her face and she could feel her the hair in her head rise as she cringed, hearing the horrific song again.

Oh, maldita alma, no puedes huir del Hades, el embajador del infierno está aquí para llervarte.

The song was followed by a spine chilling laughter and she got up to run down the stairs, tripping and falling all the way down.

She sat up, with her long hairs covering her face. Her eyes were almost closed due to her swollen face, she held her broken arm in place with her right hand as she tried to get up with the aid of the wall she's resting her back.

Trembling with fear, she looked up the stairs to see her assaulter staring down at her.

She has never seen such a thing before except in horror movies. It has two small horns that emit smoke at intervals, it's long hairs covering it's face couldn't hide the illumination of it's red horrific eyes.

With fangs as sharp as blade, smiling down at it's prey as it longs for her blood.

The bulb on the stair way malfunctioned, going on and off. The girl tried to fix her eyes in the evil before her and also trying to accustom her eyes with the malfunctioned bulb.

The beast disappeared mysteriously as the light went off and on, sensing danger, she continued her staggering run towards the female's restroom, locking the door behind her as she got inside.

She backed off to the extreme end till her back touched the Water Closet system.

The chilly sensation returned again and she could feel every hair on her body rise. Cold shivers ran down her spine, as she heard the echoing sound of the song again.

She heard the footsteps of someone moving gracefully down the line of toilets humming a strange song and tapping the doors of each restroom.

Tap went past her door as the beast passed by it to the next one, tapping as she strolled.

She sighed shakily in relief as she could almost feel her blood pumping in her ears.

She looked up to see the bulb malfunction like the one on the stairs and her heart began racing like a speed boat.

She brought her gaze down as the light went off only for her to see the bright red eyes staring at her in the face.

Her screams echoed through the street as birds flew off the trees in the school compound, followed by a dreadful silence.

The sun was just rising from it's corner in the sky as birds fly about chirping happily, welcoming the new day.

The wind was frigid, reminding the citizens of Pearl City, that winter is just around the corner.

People could be seen moving hurriedly on the walkway, in a haste to get to their respective work places.

It's a Monday morning and the beginning of a new semester. School buses of different colors and sizes could be seen on the highway, conveying students to their schools, for another academic term.

The rays of the sun reflected on the roof of a grey colored Nissan Rogue speeding down the highway, with a blonde pretty woman, behind the wheels.

Two teenagers are seated at the backseat, a boy putting on a white armless top with a blue jean jacket on to match it.

The girl who look a little bit older, has an earpiece plugged into her ears, while browsing through her phone.

She looks more like her mother, pretty with blonde hairs too. She's putting on a black leather jacket with her black leather trousers to match.

She wore less make up, except a little touch of lip gloss worn on her lips.

The boy just kept blabbing on and on about the excitement of a new school as the girl rolled her eyeballs, it's obvious she's not in for such talks.

" I can't wait to make new friends...and oh, I heard the Marcos Fernandez attends Pearl High too" he said and gasps dramatically.

" Really can't wait to meet the dude" he added grinning excitedly.

The woman behind the wheels just smiled as she listened to her son's unending talk.

" Camila, I heard the girls there are pretty too" he said tapping her shoulder.

" Ohh…shut up Carl" she said in disgust making their mother giggle behind the wheels.

" What?" Carl asked folding his hands across his chest dramatically, as the vehicle took a bend off the highway, to the road that led to Pearl High.

" Just shut up, okay" Camila replied

" Or you're scared you might meet someone more pretty than you, huh?" he teased making funny faces at her.

Camila sighed and unplugged the earpiece from her ear.

" Oh dear Carl" she started with a baby look, seems it's her turn to be dramatic.

" I'm gonna throw you out of this vehicle if you don't stop pestering me" she threatened

" Come on Camila, you don't threaten your brother" her mother scolded amidst giggles.

" He's getting on my nerves, isn't it obvious I'm not interested in whatever topic he's discussing with you?" she replied

" I'm not discussing with her" Carl argued.

" Whatever" she said, rolling her eyes.

The rest of the journey was in silence and in no time, they arrived at the most popular and highly rated school in the city, Pearl High School.

Different activities were going on in the school's massive compound with students and parents moving to and fro.

Mrs Lucy Roberts drove into the parking lot, and turned off the cars ignition. Carl was the first to alight from the as the door to the driver's side opened, with Mrs Roberts stepping down.

" We're here already" Mrs Roberts said tapping on the window frame of Camila's part of the vehicle.

It's obvious she's either shy or not interested in the school.

" Why on earth do we have to change schools every damn time" she asked

" Thought we settled this, right?"

" That's your thought, but its not fine by me" she replied

Mrs Roberts sighed and glimpsed at the far end of the lawn where some students are busy gathering. They could be seen hugging and shaking each other.

" Didn't want to say this at first, but I guess I'm gonna tell you now" she said peering into her eyes.

" What?" Camila asked with curiosity taking over her. When her mother stares at her like that, it means she has a good or bad...no mostly good news.

" Your friend is back in town" she replied

" Who, Hannah?" she asked as her eyes brightens up.

" Yup... And guess what?"

" Come on mom, I don't wanna start the guessing games" she replied with a baby look.

" She's enrolled in Pearl High" she said with a bright smile on her face.

Camila can't help but smile merrily, her best friend Hannah Alves spent the last holiday in Spain with her grandmother, making the holidays boring to her. But now she's back, in the same school with her.

Camila opened the door, grabbing her backpack as she came down from the vehicle.

Carl was busy making flirting faces towards the girls that passed by, giggling as they walked past him.

Truth be told, Carl is a young guy with cool and attractive features, young and energetic with good looks. He dressed like a pop star with his hair dyed purple and smoke grey.

" You don't start that here, I don't wanna have bad reports about you, okay" Mrs Roberts warned as she led her kids into the principal's office.
