Odel, who was hospitalized due to illness, was taken care of by Clayton. During her stay, she accidentally overheard something sweet from him. The vampire, who usually appeared indifferent and intimidating, apologized to her for his negligence, which only made Odel feel even guiltier for lying to him.
Pretending to be asleep, Odel wanted to wake up. She started to move slightly to let Clayton know that she was conscious. However, as soon as she moved, Clayton quickly stood up and walked toward the door. Instead of staying, he called Emilio and Daffin into the room.
"Emilio! Daffin! I think Odel is waking up!"
Hearing that, the two vampires immediately entered the room and sat beside Odel, looking genuinely happy.
"You're finally awake," Emilio said.
"How do you feel? Are you feeling much better now?" Daffin asked.
"Yes, I feel much better. Thank you, everyone," Odel replied.
"More precisely, thanks to Emilio and me, because Clayton didn't do anything," Daffin said while shooting an annoyed glance at Clayton.
"I don't know what he was doing earlier; I thought he came here to take care of you," Emilio added.
While the two vampires were blaming him, Clayton remained silent. He merely glanced at them briefly before looking away.
"See that, Odel! If I were you, I'd kick him out of the candidate list for your fiancé!" Daffin said, trying to influence her.
"Hey, that's too much, Daffin!" Emilio responded, still showing some empathy.
Clayton glanced at his two rivals again, snorted, and opened the magazine lying on the waiting room table.
"Wow, he's so indifferent!" Emilio exclaimed.
"Is he really the same vampire who seemed so concerned this morning? I think he has a split personality!" Daffin added.
Odel smiled faintly, realizing that Clayton was acting that way, probably because he was still upset about what had happened earlier. Maybe, in his eyes, Odel was an unfaithful fiancée, and that's why he didn't want to compete with the other vampires anymore.
A few minutes later, two unexpected visitors arrived—Fiona and Adrian. Everyone was surprised by how they found out that Odel was hospitalized.
"Odel! Oh my God, poor you," Fiona said as she hugged her friend.
"You guys? How did you know I was here? I didn't tell anyone," Odel asked in surprise.
"Oh, that's because Emilio posted about it on social media, so we found out," Fiona replied.
Daffin and Odel immediately turned to look at Emilio, who just grinned sheepishly, seemingly unaware that people would actually notice his post.
"Thank you for coming," Odel smiled at Fiona.
However, Adrian's presence made the atmosphere awkward. Emilio and Daffin exchanged glances, clearly displeased. They had never liked Adrian from the beginning, and now seeing him sitting on Odel's bed and whispering to her only made them more irritated.
"Look at him! Acting all friendly," Emilio whispered angrily.
"We need to do something," Daffin said, crossing his arms.
Both of them turned to Clayton, who was still sitting quietly, reading a magazine in the corner of the room. Daffin nudged Clayton's arm, trying to get his attention.
"Clayton, come on, let's do something. We can't let Adrian act so freely like that!" Daffin urged.
However, Clayton just glanced at them lazily and replied with a cynical tone, "Didn't you already ask Odel to remove me from the fiancé candidates? Handle it yourselves!"
Without waiting for a response, Clayton stood up and walked out of the room without looking back.
Odel, who had been secretly observing Clayton and the other vampires, was surprised to see him leave. Clayton, who usually objected to Adrian's presence, now seemed indifferent.
Odel sighed. It seemed he was still mad at her. There was a feeling she couldn't quite describe, a guilt that weighed heavily on her heart.
"Clayton..." Odel murmured softly, but the man had already disappeared behind the door.
Emilio clicked his tongue and muttered under his breath.
"Gosh! He's really annoying. How could he just leave like that?"
Daffin let out a long sigh. "We can't rely on him. We have to get rid of Adrian ourselves," he whispered.
Meanwhile, Adrian, realizing he was the center of attention, just smiled casually.
"Odel, aren't your nephews tired of taking care of you? It's okay if I stay here to take turns looking after you. They can go home," Adrian said unexpectedly.
Fiona gaped at her friend's boldness, but she knew that Adrian had been trying to get close to Odel for a long time. However, Odel's two nephews, who always claimed to be her fiancés, looked annoyed.
"Are you trying to kick us out? Wow, you've got some nerve!" Daffin said.
"Who do you think you are to replace us? Huh!" Emilio added.
"Wow, why are you angry? I didn't mean it that way. I guess you just can't understand my good intentions," Adrian replied with a smile.
Daffin stared sharply at Adrian. "Good intentions? Don't make me laugh. You've been trying to take advantage of every opportunity to get close to Odel from the very beginning!"
"And what if I have? What's the problem? Aren't you guys her cousins?" Adrian asked with a knowing smirk.
"We're her fiancés!" Daffin and Emilio replied in unison.
"Her fiancés? Really? Which one? Daffin or Emilio?" Adrian asked.
"Me!" they both answered simultaneously.
"Both of you? Are you serious? You must be joking!" Adrian shook his head in disbelief.
Daffin and Emilio were at a loss for words, looking at each other, neither willing to back down from being Odel's fiancé.
"I get it now. Odel is beautiful, so it's understandable to have a possessive cousin," Adrian said with a smile at Odel.
Fiona, standing nearby, blended in with the hospital sheets, feeling invisible.
"Odel, do I really need to be here?" Fiona whispered.
"Yes, you do! Quickly, kick all these men out, Fiona! My head hurts," Odel pleaded.
Fiona acted fast, raising her hand and stepping in to mediate the situation.
"Listen up, guys! Unfortunately for you, Odel has chosen me to stay with her, so you can all leave and get some rest!" Fiona declared, opening the door to the room.
"Hey, you can't do that!"
"Oh yes, I can! If you want Odel to recover quickly, let me take care of her, because I'm her one and only sister!" Fiona insisted.
The three men turned to Odel, and she nodded in agreement with Fiona's words.
In the end, all the men leave, leaving Odel with Fiona, who immediately shuts the door.
"This is all your fault!" Daffin glared at Adrian.
"This is fun!" Adrian answered with a smile smugly and walked away, as if he had just won the game.
