Chapter 22 - 22. Odel's Miracle

That night, as Odel decided to return to her apartment, doubt clouded her heart. She had walked quite a distance without any interference from the vampires, which brought her a slight sense of comfort. However, deep down, she knew that the farther she went, the harder it would be for them to find her if she decided to hide.

"What if I just ran away?" she thought to herself, though the thought was immediately followed by worry.

"But if I run away, I'll become a target for all the vampires. My life will never be peaceful..." Odel sighed deeply, trying to calm her thoughts.

Suddenly, Fiona's driver's voice interrupted her contemplation.

"Miss, we've arrived," the driver said softly, his eyes glancing through the rearview mirror, signaling that they had reached her apartment.

"Oh, right! Thank you so much, sir," Odel replied as she opened the car door and stepped out slowly.

Fiona's driver simply nodded politely before driving away, leaving Odel alone.

"Damn it! I shouldn't have asked to be dropped off here!"

Odel grumbled, but it was too late. She decided to think about her escape plan another time. Right now, she was getting sleepy, and rest was the best option.

However, as soon as she stood at the door, she heard Daffin grumbling. It seemed that the three vampire men had indeed been looking for her, and they couldn't believe that Odel would return to them.

"I can't believe I actually came here either," Odel muttered to herself.

Taking a deep breath, she slowly opened the door, and the room suddenly fell silent. Three pairs of eyes immediately turned to her. Daffin looked surprised, while Emilio and Clayton, who were hanging from the ceiling, stared at her with strange expressions.

Daffin opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something, but Odel quickly walked to her room and shut the door. She locked it from the inside and finally let out the breath she had been holding.

"Fyuuh! I've gone insane!" Odel murmured.

She changed into more comfortable clothes and lay down on her bed to relax. But just as she began to unwind, Clayton's angry shout startled her. From what she could hear, it seemed that Emilio had taken all of Clayton's blood supply.

Odel tried to ignore it, but the commotion grew louder, becoming more intense, forcing her to get up—until she heard a low growl from Clayton. Curious, Odel opened the door and was met with a pair of glowing vampire eyes staring at her hungrily.

"Move aside, Daffin... I won't hurt her. I just want to taste her blood! I can't hold on any longer!" Clayton said, stepping toward Odel.

Disaster!

Daffin shouted, "Get inside, now!" urging Odel to lock the door and call Baron immediately. Odel did as she was told; it was very terrifying. Clayton, who was usually the most reliable, had lost control and was now trying to devour her.

"Baron! Clayton has lost control, he's out of blood stock! Send some, quickly, before it's too late!" Odel pleaded.

"I'll send it, but I'm not sure if I can be fast enough!"

"What?! This will be my last day if you're late!" Odel snapped.

"Calm down! There's another way to deal with an out-of-control Clayton!"

"What is it?" Odel asked.

The man explained something...

The fight between the vampires became inevitable. Emilio, who had initially fled, returned to help restrain Clayton, preventing him from hurting Odel. But instead of staying safe, Odel stepped out, approaching them. Daffin and Emilio tried to stop her, but she seemed unwilling to listen.

"You're really thirsty, aren't you?" Odel asked.

"Yes! Give me your blood! I want blood!" Clayton replied, struggling, making it hard for Daffin and Emilio to hold him back.

"Calm down, Clayton! I'll give you my blood," Odel said.

"What are you saying, Odel?! You'll die if he drinks your blood!" Daffin protested.

Without listening, Odel took a needle and pricked the tip of her finger. A single drop of blood emerged, releasing the most tantalizing scent they had ever smelled.

"You think this is a blood sugar test? Get out of here! Don't try that on an out-of-control vampire!" Emilio protested, thinking Odel was doing something ridiculous.

Clayton's eyes glowed an even deeper red, the scent of blood driving him further into madness.

"Open your mouth, Clayton!" Odel commanded.

Without hesitation, she let a drop of her blood fall into Clayton's mouth. The moment it touched his tongue, everything changed. Clayton's once-glowing eyes gradually returned to their natural brown hue.

He took a deep breath, as if his thirst had finally been quenched. Looking at Odel, his gaze softened, filled with a newfound admiration, as if she had just saved him.

Daffin and Emilio stood frozen, staring in disbelief at what had just happened. They exchanged stunned glances, unable to utter a single word.

"Did something happen here?" asked Baron, who had just arrived carrying a large box filled with fresh blood juice for the vampires' supply.

"Her!" Daffin pointed at Odel.

"Her blood...!" Emilio wanted to explain, but he still couldn't believe it himself.

Baron's eyes shifted to Clayton, now back to normal, and then he smiled at Odel.

"You truly are special, Odel," Baron said. "Just a single drop of your blood can bring an out-of-control vampire back to his senses. That's why a girl like you is the perfect match for a vampire king. It's your destiny."

The three vampires observed her closely, as if mesmerized, before turning their attention to Baron.

"So that's one of Odel's special abilities? Does that mean she doesn't have to become a vampire when she marries one of us?" Emilio asked.

"That's up to Odel. She can choose to become a vampire or not! I never said she had to turn after marriage. That's not the issue here! The real problem is Odel having to choose between three men like you! Now that is a tough choice!" Baron explained.

Odel gaped at Baron's explanation, realizing that perhaps her fears had been exaggerated all along.

"So, Odel, do you see any advantages in these three men?" Baron asked.

"No! They're all useless!" she replied.

"Exactly!" Baron said, holding back his laughter.

"Wait a minute! What do you mean by that, Baron?" Daffin started to look annoyed. "Are you saying the only thing we have going for us is our good looks?"

"Precisely!"

The three vampire men widened their eyes in disbelief, clearly not pleased with Baron's words.

"Then what should we do?" Clayton asked.

"Of course, learn everything about the human world! Win your fiancée's heart and make her fall for you!" Baron replied, adjusting his sunglasses.

The three vampires exchanged glances before asking in unison, "How?"

"I have no idea. I haven't gotten married myself. But according to humans, you need to learn what love is!"
