Chapter 4 - Chapter Four - The Prophecy of Death

Days passed, and the media remained obsessed with the name **Chaos Harbinger**. No one knew when he would strike again, but everyone knew he would return.

Every time a new report emerged, the entire city was divided between **fear, curiosity, and utter madness.**

People wondered, speculated, guessed, screamed.

**"When will the next strike be?"**

**"What kind of chaos will he cause this time?"**

**"Will he test another hero? Will he try something even crazier?"**

But what they found one morning wasn't an explosion, wasn't hostages, wasn't a live broadcast.

It was **a human head hanging on a pole in the middle of the city square.**

Its features were frozen, eyes widened in absolute terror, as if the last thing it saw before death was an indescribable nightmare. Blood still dripped onto the pavement, and beneath it, a bold message was written in dark red:

**"To my star."**

The internet collapsed the moment the image spread.

Breaking news on every channel, investigations, theories, and total chaos.

**"What does this mean?!"**

**"Who is the victim?!"**

**"Is this a new threat?!"**

**"Chaos Harbinger has killed again!!"**

But for Daniel, this wasn't an accomplishment, but rather **another chronic headache added to the list.**

He was lying on the couch in his hideout, clothes torn, body filled with wounds, face looking like he had just fought a mythical beast.

He sighed, staring at the ceiling, then muttered bitterly:

**"Damn, that guy was tough."**

The memories still burned in his head, details of the fight he had hours ago, the difficulty he faced, and how he nearly lost his life this time.

**Name: Nightmare.**

Not a famous name yet, he wasn't one of the known villains, not even a killer at this stage. He was just a **supernatural con man, using his ability to see parts of the future to trick his victims and carry out complex scams.**

But the problem wasn't in **his present, but in his future.**

Daniel knew what would happen.

In the original story, Nightmare was supposed to be caught two years from now and sent to **Void Prison**, a prison no creature could escape from until their sentence ended.

But years later, something **unknown happened**, and the **greatest catastrophe in history erupted:** **the mass escape from Void Prison.**

Most villains who got out of there **became stronger, more vicious, and unnaturally evolved.**

Among them... was **Nightmare.**

He was no longer just a con man after his escape. His ability evolved frighteningly, **not only could he see the future, but he could manipulate his victims' minds through dreams,** driving them to **utter madness, then suicide,** or **controlling them entirely in a 'waking dream' state,** making him one of **the most dangerous serial killers in the original story.**

There was no choice.

He couldn't risk leaving this man alive, even if he hadn't yet turned into the monster of the future.

He had to kill him **today.**

But Nightmare wasn't just an easy opponent.

**He saw him coming.**

When Daniel busted into his hideout, there was no confusion on Nightmare's face, just a **calm smile full of confidence.**

**"I knew you'd come."**

Then he pressed a small button beside him.

**And the place exploded.**

Daniel barely managed to escape using **his teleportation,** but he wasn't quick enough to avoid all the damage. Half his body took the brunt of the explosion, slamming into a metal wall with a force that sent pain through his bones like fire.

But he didn't have the luxury of stopping.

Nightmare wasn't just an ordinary man, he was **smart, he knew someone would try to kill him today, so he set traps in every corner.**

**But he didn't know who Daniel was.**

**And he didn't know Daniel had gravity control.**

Before the con man could trigger another trap, Daniel slowly raised his hand, unleashing his power.

The air trembled.

Everything in the room **began to float.**

**Nightmare, the room's furniture, the devices, even the dust itself.**

Then in one second, **gravity collapsed upon him.**

His body **shattered like a paper doll, bones crushed, organs burst, blood splattered in all directions.**

**It was over.**

After moments of silence, Daniel fell to his knees, breathing heavily, pain unbearable, vision blurred, blood slowly seeping from his wounds.

But he did it.

**Another one ended before he could become worse.**

Then he did what he always did.

**Cut the head, leave the message, and leave the body to be discovered.**

And now, hours later, he was lying on his couch in the hideout, feeling like the world was spinning around him.

Then came **Risa.**

When she saw him in that state, **she screamed immediately.**

"You idiot!!"

She rushed to him, a first-aid kit in her hand, then began checking his injuries with obvious concern, her caramel eyes burning with anger.

"You wander around the city like you're the king of hell, then return here on the brink of death? Do you even think?!"

"I'm fine..." he muttered weakly.

"Oh, no, you're not fine!" She pulled out a syringe filled with a silvery substance and jabbed it into his arm forcefully.

He felt a strange warmth flow through his body, then the pain started to fade slowly, his wounds shrinking, energy returning to him.

"What is this?"

"Regenerative nanotechnology solution. You're lucky I have some, or you'd bleed out here like a stray dog!"

"I'm not bleeding like a stray dog."

"Yes, you are, and you're stupid too!"

She looked at him for a moment, then exhaled in frustration as she backed away, sitting on the table in front of him, watching him with eyes full of resentment.

"You act like you're invincible, Dani. One day, this will kill you."

He remained silent for a moment, then closed his eyes.

"I know."

She sighed, then wiped her face with her hand. "So... was this worth all of it?"

"Yes."

"Was he really that dangerous?"

"...He wasn't yet."

She raised an eyebrow. "Yet?"

He opened his eyes, then looked directly at her.

"But he would have been."

Risa didn't ask more, just sat there, staring at the man who decided to carry the burdens of this world on his shoulders alone.

It should have seemed foolish.

It should have seemed like the actions of a reckless man.

But it wasn't.

Because despite everything... **she believed him.**
