Chapter 2 - Appliances

Scrolling through the dungeon interface Lyric already had an idea of what he would spend all his one hundred dungeon points on... a house! After all, it's not like he could just live in the dungeon, what if someone raided it and killed him?

Lyric could a sliver of the land outside of the cave, signifying that it was under his jurisdiction.

Finding the options he wanted, Lyric walked outside the cave and came face to face with a sprawling plain with lots of grass, flowers, and sporadically spaced-out trees.

Looking behind him, Lyric observed the entrance of the dungeon and nodded in satisfaction due to the cool appearance of the stone-tiled floor overgrown with moss and the stone pillars holding up the roof, it was what most would assume was an ancient ruin.

After standing in awe and satisfaction, Lyric started walking a short distance away from the dungeon entrance before he clicked on an option in his interface and summoned an entire house that most would assume was an Inn, and it technically was

Lyric wanted to make sure that anyone who came to visit his dungeon would have a comfortable stay, after all... the longer they stayed in the dungeon, the more DP he would earn, and the Inn counted as part of the dungeon.

He would also need somewhere to hide the dungeon core, which if it was destroyed would kill him as well, and after thinking it through Lyric also summoned a well outside the inn and put the baseball-sized dungeon core at the bottom of it.

Smiling in satisfaction, Lyric walked back to his new house, the inn itself was simple on the outside, being fully made of wood and stone, though the craftmanship looked impeccable it still had a somewhat homely charm to it.

Lyric had made it two floors tall with the majority of the bottom floor being full of tables and chairs while the other half was blocked by a wall that had a kitchen on the other side alongside what would be Lyric's personal room while the second floor would be guest rooms.

Before he looked at his room, Lyric was more interested in looking at the kitchen and seeing how all the appliances were run, and after looking at them a bit and checking his interface twice, Lyric finally figured out that all the appliances like the stove, and the fridge were powered by magic circles ingrained in them and giving them function.

Running around the inn, Lyric was acting like a child let loose after devouring a bag full of candy.

Full of curiosity, Lyric looked at everything that ran off magic circles like the bathrooms, the lights, and even the well he put the dungeon core in.

After finally settling down Lyric returned to his room to rest while he decided to look at the basic knowledge given to him as a Dungeon Lord of this world.

Looking through the information provided to him, Lyric found the name of his new world.

Arcadia

'At least it sounds better than Earth.' Lyric thought to himself with a smirk.

Fortunately for Lyric, his innate dungeon knowledge also provided him with information on the currency of the world he was in, which he would need if he wanted to look like a real Innkeeper.

Luckily for Lyric, Arcadia had a simple currency that was filled with copper coins, silver coins, and gold coins. With a hundred copper coins equalling one silver coin, and a hundred silver coins equalling one gold coin.

Lyric was happily studying the rest of the dungeon knowledge as he found some information pertaining to Dungeon Lords... they didn't have to eat!

Well... they would have to eat if they were outside of the dungeon's boundaries, but if they were inside... they were sustained by the ambient mana of the dungeon, and the same applied to the dungeon monsters.

But if a dungeon monster decided to leave the premises of the dungeon they would slowly die from mana starvation, a condition where if they were deprived of the dungeon's ambient mana for too long they would then die.

Of course, there were ways to bypass this rule, but the monster in question would first have to form a magic core before they could safely enter the mana-dry environment outside the dungeon.

For a dungeon monster to generate a magic core they either had to have been born with one or spend enough time in the dungeon without dying to produce a magic core, and once the magic core was produced they could safely leave the dungeon without worries of mana starvation.

While Lyric contemplated the situation of magic cores he didn't notice himself falling asleep on the soft bed.

Somewhere in a town nearby, there was a group of Adventurers heading out of the local Adventurers guild before heading out of the town to complete their quests.

"Hey Jamal, why are we taking a quest to hunt horned rabbits?" A young red-headed lady with blue eyes asked a young man with brown hair and brown eyes walking in front of her.

Jamal smirked back at her. "Because we're searching for fresh dungeons Ember, duh!"

The red-headed lady, Ember groaned. "Ugh, you know how rare it is to find fresh dungeons, Jamal?! We're more likely to become S-rank Adventurers!"

"But Ember... If we do find one, we'd make it rich! Right, Jacob?" Jamal turned into a giant of a man covered in heavy armor.

Jacob simply nodded in reply, not wanting to enter into the argument.

Ember rolled her eyes. "Like, Sure, if we discovered a fresh dungeon we could make bank, but the likelihood of it is abysmal, and because you want to explore to find it you're only taking low-ranking jobs! We're C-rank! Why are we taking an E-rank Job?!"

Jamal smiled in response. "Just wait and see Ember, I can feel it in my bones!"

"Feel what? Arthritis?" Ember replied sarcastically.

Jamal rolled his eyes. "No, I can feel that we'll find a new dungeon! So follow me!" Jamal shouted as he started running out of the village.

Ember sighed in frustration before following after him alongside the quiet giant of a man named Jacob.
