Chapter 1 - Prolog: The Approaching Shadow

The wind whispered through the ruins of Eldoria, carrying dust and the scent of death. Thousands of years had passed since its fall, but the shadow of destruction still lingered. They said that Malazar, the Demon King, was imprisoned in the depths of hell, but whispers among the old wizards told a different story. The darkness was returning. And this time, the world was not ready.

Part 1: The Girl from Sunstone Village

My name is Elara. I am not a princess, not a sorceress, not even an adventurer. I am just a simple girl from Sunstone Village, my life filled with simple routines: helping my father in the fields, weaving cloth, and gazing at the star-filled night sky. My life was peaceful, almost boring. Until that night arrived.

Sunstone Village nestled in a secluded valley, surrounded by towering mountains. We lived simply, far from the hustle and bustle of kingdoms and political intrigue. My father, a stubborn farmer, always taught me the importance of hard work and patience. My mother, who had passed away when I was young, lived on in beautiful memories that always warmed my heart. I had a few friends, the village children who always played with me in the meadows. A simple life, but full of happiness.

I was always fascinated by the stars. I often spent my nights on the hilltop, gazing at the vast, star-studded sky. I imagined the world beyond our village, a world filled with mystery and wonder. I dreamed of adventures, of magical powers, of things that were beyond the reach of ordinary people.

Those dreams always felt so distant, so unreal. I knew my place in this village, and I was content with my simple life. I never imagined that one day, my life would change forever.

Part 2: Strange Signs

A few days before the incident, I started to feel strange things. I often saw shadows moving on their own in the corner of my eye, heard unintelligible whispers at night. I felt restless, afraid, but I didn't know what was causing it. My father just said it was probably fatigue.

My friends felt the same way. Lyra, my closest friend, said she had nightmares about approaching darkness. Kaelan, Ardan, and Rhys, three young men from the neighboring village, also felt the same way. They all had something different, something strange and inexplicable.

On the night of the incident, we gathered on the hilltop, as usual, gazing at the night sky. The sky suddenly turned a deep purple, and a large gap opened in the heavens. Dazzling purple light emanated from the gap, striking us with incredible force.

It felt like my whole body was torn apart, then put back together. I felt a burning heat, followed by a surge of energy flowing throughout my body. When the light subsided, I felt… different. There was something new inside me, something powerful and luminous. I looked at my hand, and I saw a soft golden light emanating from my palm. I could feel it, the magical power flowing within me.

I saw my friends experiencing the same thing. They all had different magical powers. Lyra had the power of healing, Kaelan controlled shadows, Ardan mastered fire, and Rhys had the power of ice. The five of us, chosen by a mysterious magical force, to fight the Demon King who had risen. My simple life was over. The real adventure had just begun.
