Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Heroes vs. Villains

Shirley returned to her hotel room, got her detective backpack, and ponytailed her hair. Shirley returned to the dumpster that Superman threw the roller coaster in, took her magnifying glass from her bag, and investigated the broken pieces. Shirley smelled one of the pieces. Shirley said, "That's odd; this doesn't smell like dragon's breath, it smells like..." While investigating, a Batrope tied around her, and she got shot up to a roof. Once Shirley got to the top, she turned around and saw Batman. Shirley said, "Batman." Batman said, "And just who do you think you are hanging around a crime scene?" Shirley said, "I'm Shirley Hudson. I'm a detective like you, investigating the case." Batman said, "Really? Well, maybe you should leave this one to me." Shirley said, "I'm not going anywhere until this mystery is solved." Batman said, "Well then, maybe we can work together." Superman flew to the same roof and stood next to Batman. Superman said, "Allow me to help, too." Shirley said, "That's a great idea. With two detectives and a superhero on the case, the bad guy won't stand a chance."

Batman put his hand in, Superman put his hand on top of Batman's, and Shirley put her hand on top of Superman's. Then, they all lifted their hands and became a team. Later that night, Shirley walked across town, thinking the case through. Then a magic store caught fire, and somebody with giant hands stole some magic stuff. Shirley and Batman investigated the store after the owner put out the fire. Batman said, "What are we looking for?" Shirley was holding her magnifying glass up to the destroyed shelves. Shirley said, "Something that doesn't belong." Shirley saw a missing magician's hat and wand. Shirley said, "Something like this." Batman saw a missing deck of magic cards. Batman said, "And this." Shirley said, "What would a dragon want with magic equipment?" Batman said, "Dragon?" Shirley said, "Yeah. Dragons breathe fire, are tall, and have very sharp claws. A dragon fits the description of these attacks."

When they left the store, Kyle shot Batman with a laser, and Brad stole his utility belt. While Batman was out, Shirley saw all eight of her past villains. Shirley ran for her life, but Scarlet did a backflip and jumped in front of Shirley. Scarlet said, "Going somewhere?" Shirley got her scooter from her backpack and rode around the villains. Scott threw a dart at Shirley's scooter and popped one of her tires. When Shirley fell off her scooter, she started to run away screaming, but the villains chased after her. Connor said, "Give up, Shirley; it's eight against one." Shirley looked up while she was running and saw Superman flying above her. Shirley said, "Correction, it's eight against two." Sherry said, "What do you mean?" Shirley reached her arms up. Then Superman flew down, grabbed Shirley's wrists, and flew her up into the sky. Mr. Fletch said, "No fair."

Superman set Shirley down on a tennis court, but the villains found them. Kyle tried to take them out with a tennis ball machine, but they hit the deck, and Kyle took Mr. Fletch out instead. Then Superman hit one of the balls with a racket, blew up the tennis ball machine, and toasted Kyle. Shirley and Superman ran out of the tennis court and saw Brad. Brad tried to destroy Shirley and Superman by hitting hockey pucks at them with a hockey stick. When Brad hit one at Shirley, she hit the deck, and Brad hit Scarlet in the knee. Scarlet screamed while hopping on one leg. Then Scarlet bounced toward Brad and kicked him at a tree. When Brad got hit in the tree, he dropped Batman's utility belt, and Shirley grabbed it. Shirley said, "I hope that takes care of them." Sherry chased Shirley and Superman while trying to take them out with a laser. Shirley ran around Sherry with Superman flying above them, and Sherry kept blasting the laser around herself, trying to hit Shirley. When Superman flew off, Sherry had Shirley cornered, and she aimed the laser at her. Sherry said, "This is where it ends. Say 'goodbye,' loser." Shirley said, "Goodbye, Loser." Sherry looked under her feet and saw that she had cut through the ground with her laser. Then, the ground under Sherry's feet opened up, and Sherry fell underground. Sherry screamed as she fell down the hole.

Shirley ran for her life, but Scott tried to destroy her with his giant robot. Scott pushed a button on a remote, and the robot's hands turned into guns. The robot tried to shoot Shirley continuously. Then Superman aimed his heat vision at the robot's motherboard and blew it up. When the motherboard exploded, so did the robot. The explosion was so big it took out Scott, and Superman flew down and grabbed Shirley before the blast hit her. Shirley said, "I hope that takes care of them." Superman flew them both down, and they both thought they were safe. Then they both looked ahead of her and saw Connor with swords and Rex with nunchucks. Shirley ran away, and Connor threw one of his swords at her. Shirley got down, and the blade landed right by her arm. Superman blasted their weapons with his heat vision and destroyed them. Connor said, "You'll pay for that." Shirley pushed an ice cream cart at Connor; it hit him and rolled him down a hill. Connor rode so fast he hit Rex, and they both crashed into a tree. Shirley said, "That's all of them." Shirley and Superman ran for their lives, and all the villains got up and chased after them. Shirley looked behind them and saw the villains chasing them. Shirley said, "Those creeps never give up." Batman rode by in his Batmobile, and Shirley and Superman got in. Shirley gave Batman his utility belt back, and he put it back on. Then Batman hit a button in the Batmobile and drove super-fast across town. Brad said, "Who knew they could do that?"

While in the Batmobile, they tried to figure out the mystery. Shirley said, "I don't get it. Why must he steal magic stuff if the culprit has a dragon?" Batman stopped the Batmobile at a streetlight. Then Shirley looked out the window and saw somebody in a magician's hat and cape holding a magic wand. Shirley took her binoculars from her backpack and looked through them, but couldn't see the person's face. Shirley said, "Batman, Superman." Batman and Superman both said at the same time, "What?" Shirley said, "The culprit is right over there."

Shirley got out of the Batmobile and stood in front of the mysterious figure. Shirley said, "Freeze. Shirley Hudson, worldwide girl detective." The mysterious figure ran down an alley and climbed up a ladder to the roof of a building. Shirley ran after him, Superman flew to the top after him, and Batman used his Batrope to climb to the top after him. Superman got to the roof first and saw the mysterious figure. Superman said, "Nowhere to go." The mysterious figure said, "I got one way out." The mysterious figure put his hands together and separated them, and a magic wand appeared in his hands. Shirley climbed up the ladder to the roof. Once Shirley reached the top, she saw Superman ready to fight the mysterious figure. Then, the mysterious figure blasted Superman with his wand, turning him into a red, yellow, and blue handkerchief. Then the mysterious figure grabbed Superman and put him in his hat. The mysterious figure said, "This handkerchief is very super. Wouldn't you say?" Shirley ran up to the mysterious figure, but he used his wand to vanish. Once Batman got to the roof, he saw that Shirley was ok, but Superman was gone. Batman said, "Shirley, where's Superman." Shirley said, "The mysterious figure turned him into a handkerchief." Batman said, "Then we have to save him."
