Chapter 131 - Chapter 131: Battle

In the living room of the new house, everyone held weapons, their eyes fixed on the outside.

"Warning! Warning! Unknown creatures detected!"

"Unknown creatures moving at high speed, unauthorized intrusion!"

"Intentions unclear! Highly dangerous!"

"Initiating attack, targeting locked! Engage!"

Meanwhile, the urgent sound of alarms echoed through the air, the rapid reports instantly ridding them of any lingering drowsiness. Before the announcement had even ended, the attack had already been launched.

Boom! Boom! Boom! A series of fiery explosions illuminated the entire sky, painting the dark night with brilliant "fireworks" that set the night ablaze.

Amid the fiery backdrop, several large figures, each the size of a basin, darted through the fire, narrowly avoiding danger with remarkable skill. Within mere breaths, they were drawing closer.

Thud! At the last moment, the flames finally shredded one of the creatures into pieces, but the others had already fled, and the fire's effectiveness had expired.

"Screech!"

Two snow sculptures soared into the air after the fiery assault, simultaneously pouncing on dozens of dark figures in the shadows.

Thud! Two of the shadows fell prey to the snow sculptures' claws, hot blood sprinkling the air.

The remaining shadows, seeing the danger posed by the snow sculptures, scattered instantly, flying in different directions toward the manor. With their targets now divided, the two snow sculptures had no choice but to pursue the other shadows.

"Growl!" The grey shadow, Ivy, the prince, and White Snow growled in unison, instinctively surrounding the entrance, preparing to pounce.

"Unknown creatures infiltrating the manor!"

The urgent voice became sharper.

Click-clack! Rapid footsteps sounded, as the manor's security personnel, armed with weapons, rushed to the scene. Without a word, they unleashed their weapons in an attack.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Specially crafted pistols, powerful and reliable, with ample ammunition, fired in a continuous barrage. Each member was a sharpshooter, and as soon as they arrived, they easily intercepted the lesser unknown creatures.

Thud! Hot blood splattered, some even landing on their faces, but no one wiped it away, calmly continuing their fire.

"Ah!—"

A scream rang out. Someone nearby had unknowingly been bitten on the neck by a shadow, collapsing to the ground.

Thud! A soldier drew a dagger, stabbing the shadow that had bitten him. The dagger was sharp, and the shadow was immediately killed, before the soldier applied a life-saving medicine from his supplies.

The shadows that had breached the defense lines did not attack the injured soldiers but continued to press on. Their target was unmistakably the people inside the house. The soldiers showed no sign of panic, continuing to deploy and fire. The deeper into the defense, the faster the shadows were eliminated. Eventually, only eight shadows remained.

"Growl!" Four hunting dogs pounced, accurately landing on the four remaining shadows.

Buzz! The sound of blades! Whips! Arrows! Even hammers all struck simultaneously as the dogs attacked.

The air was filled with the sounds of breaking through, and the living room became drenched in a warm rain of blood, the scent of death pervading the space.

"All invaders eliminated!"

The result of the battle was immediately reported as the last invaders were slain.

Yet the soldiers did not relax; they remained on high alert.

"Warning!—"

Boom! The warning hadn't even finished when the entire living room was violently shaken.

Crash! The bulletproof glass windows shattered, and the living room was instantly in disarray.

Thud! A man was severely injured, blood spurting from his body. However, no one attempted to help, for new invaders had already arrived.

It was a monstrous creature with demon wings and claws, its appearance causing even the seasoned warriors to tremble. The atmosphere grew heavy with fear.

The demon moved with incredible speed, not giving the soldiers any time to react. It immediately lunged into the crowd, and before the nearby soldiers could even draw their guns, they were sent flying.

Boom! The already chaotic living room became even more wrecked as the soldiers were thrown into the rubble, unable to move.

The demon flapped its fleshy wings, dropping chunks of meat, looking down on the fragile humans with contempt. After a brief pause, it charged into the heart of the manor once more.

"Damn it!" Witnessing the losses, Hodal, who had been guarding Zhao Lun and the others, was filled with rage. He had no choice but to act.

A pistol, resembling a small cannon, appeared in his hand, and with a deafening roar, he fired at the oncoming demon.

The gun was terrifyingly powerful, its shot almost like thunder, and the demon, caught off guard, took a direct hit.

The demon's wing was pierced, and black, foul-smelling blood spilled out.

"Roar!—"

"Damned insect!"

The demon, hit but enraged, roared and spoke. Ignoring the pain, it swiftly dodged the second shot.

Those heading toward the main hall paused momentarily but continued their advance. These were strong warriors, and fear and death did not deter them—at least not yet.

Bang! Boom! The second shot missed!

"Ah!—"

Another scream echoed, and a soldier, unfortunately, was seized by the demon, disappearing into the shadows. When it reappeared, it threw out a lifeless body. The dead soldier's body was similar to the town's victims, completely drained of blood.

"Ah!—"

Screams continued, but when everyone gathered in the main hall, the screams ceased. Before them lay the bodies of three soldiers, all drained of life. Unlike the women, the soldiers' faces were contorted with rage, their expressions filled with resentment.

"Reptiles! Die!"

When the demon appeared again, the bloodied hole in its wing had already healed!

The soldiers' faces turned ashen! Blood-sucking = wound recovery!

"Zzz..."

The lights in the manor flickered erratically, as if disturbed. However, Hodal remained unaffected, resolutely continuing his assault.

Whoosh! The demon had realized the danger posed by Hodal and continuously moved, never giving him the chance to aim.

As it dodged, it steadily advanced toward Hodal.

Unable to lock on, Hodal fired three shots in quick succession, but all missed, forcing him to abandon his efforts.

The gun, powerful as it was, was becoming too much for him to handle. Its repeated shots were taking a toll, so he reluctantly holstered it.

Drawing a sharp straight knife from his back, Hodal blocked the demon's advance into the hall.

The soldiers beside him provided cover, firing continuously, setting up a defensive line at the entrance.

Boom! Boom! Boom! The gunfire intensified, all aimed at the demon's wings.

"Roar!" The ferocious hunting dogs that had been hiding under the rubble suddenly leaped out, blocking the demon, and brought it to the ground, fearlessly biting at its throat.

The demon growled, extending its claws to swipe at the attacking dogs. Two of them, White Snow and the Prince, were thrown back with a single strike, their lack of experience making them too slow.

But the last two dogs, more cunning, Gray Shadow and Ivy, seized the opportunity, biting into the demon's arm and tearing off a large chunk of its flesh.

The skin and flesh tore away, revealing the demon's pale white bones.

Thud! Black, foul-smelling blood splattered everywhere.
