Chapter 102 - Chapter 102 - Propulsion

The divine kingdom can grow on its own, but with the help of its master, it can grow rapidly.

Its natural growth is somewhat slow, but with external assistance, the process can be accelerated according to the circumstances.

By bringing rain and nurturing the land, aligning with the laws of nature, the divine kingdom will benefit, thus elevating its state. From then on, the kingdom will remember this rule and rain down on its own.

The rain lasts for only a brief moment, a mere quarter-hour, but it moistens the land, nourishes the plants, and invigorates life, making everything more vibrant.

This vitality belongs to the plants, which, stimulated by the rain, create unique energies that return to the divine kingdom. The kingdom absorbs part of this, which then cycles back.

This exchange creates a profound and harmonious bond.

The one most sensitive to this change is the Flower Fairy, who was previously tired but now feels a sudden surge of energy, her spirit rejuvenated and filled with joy.

The unicorn, in close affinity with nature, also benefited, its form glowing with a soft moonlit white light, giving it a sacred aura.

The magnificent Flower Fairy, riding the pure and holy unicorn, created a scene of extraordinary beauty.

Zhao Lun observed them, choosing not to interrupt. Instead, he approached the treasure chest, now in his optimal state. He pressed the puzzle pieces on top, diligently attempting to assemble them.

Now, only five pieces remained to be placed before the lock could be opened. Yet, it was precisely these five pieces that hindered his progress, trapping him in a standstill, making no headway.

This time, he exerted all his strength to move one piece, managing to shift it slightly. Unfortunately, midway, his energy was depleted, and the piece returned to its original position. He had to start over, and once again, exhaustion set in... He fell into a vicious cycle, ultimately too tired to move.

This reality was hard for Zhao Lun to accept, as it did not align with his expectations. He thought the treasure chest would have already opened by now.

Frustrated, Zhao Lun turned away from the source of his disappointment.

His strength was limited by his age, reaching a bottleneck. Without breaking through it, he couldn't progress with this puzzle. Yet, Zhao Lun would not recklessly force a breakthrough. Instead, he knew he needed time to unlock it.

The gentle hum of the divine kingdom soon alleviated his fatigue.

As he heard this sound, Zhao Lun relaxed, his body unwinding completely.

The sun in the sky, the white clouds on the horizon, the gentle breeze, and the endless sea of flowers beneath him brought a sense of serene tranquility.

Zhao Lun gazed at it all, swaying slightly, then, following his instincts, began practicing his punches.

The more he punched, the more attuned to his movements he became. Ultimately, he could focus all his strength in his hands and, with a sudden thrust, released a burst of energy.

Whoosh! A strong gust of wind followed his push.

Crack—

As he relaxed his stance, his bones emitted a crisp, pleasant crackle.

His bones had been tempered further, and Zhao Lun felt his spirits lifted. With each session, his foundation grew stronger, and his path ahead seemed ever more promising.

With his inner waves of emotion now calm, he took out his magic wand and began practicing.

Were students forbidden from using magic during the holidays? Here, such rules didn't matter. Even if he used magic, no one would notice. He could do as he pleased.

Honestly, Zhao Lun disagreed with the restriction against students practicing magic during the holidays. It was detrimental, especially to Muggle-born students.

The Ministry of Magic monitors magical fluctuations, and when students perform magic, it's detected, leading to consequences.

However, if an adult wizard were nearby, it would be difficult for the Ministry to distinguish between a spell cast by a student or an adult, as they would assume it was the adult wizard's doing.

Magic requires practice. If you don't practice for a day, it becomes rusty. A whole holiday without practice could cause some students to forget their spells altogether.

Students with adult wizard guidance had far more time to hone their craft than those from Muggle backgrounds.

Zhao Lun would never forget magic, nor would he allow himself to become out of touch with it. Daily practice was essential.

Within the divine kingdom, the rules could go to hell!

With that thought, his golden-red wand gleamed in his hand, emitting tiny sparks. Spells flew from it, forming brilliant fireworks around him, stirring the air into a whirlwind.

He familiarized himself with transformation magic, analyzing and understanding its nuances.

Magic techniques come in two forms: spell-based and non-spell-based. Most wizards prefer the former, while powerful wizards can unleash great power without incantations.

Feeling a bit mentally exhausted, Zhao Lun decided to pause.

He reached out to the divine kingdom, channeling its power into his wand, nourishing its spirit, and allowing it to slowly evolve.

As Ollivander had said, every wand has a spirit. A wand's master's care can cause it to change, making it feel as though it's an extension of the hand, growing more powerful with each use.

Zhao Lun cherished his wand. Since receiving it, he had taken great care of it, never slackening in his maintenance.

The wand shimmered in golden-red light, and Zhao Lun stopped.

"That's enough for today."

He spoke to the wand, which vibrated and slowly dimmed its glow.

With a thought, swish! Two bound merfolk appeared before him.

They were restrained—their claws shackled, mouths sealed so they couldn't use sonic attacks. Apart from their eyes, which could still see, and their ability to breathe and weakly speak, they couldn't move.

Upon seeing Zhao Lun, their eyes burned with intense hatred, particularly when they noticed his wand. Their gaze, filled with malice, was so fierce it nearly felt like a laser, making Zhao Lun uncomfortable.

"Why do you hate me so much?"

Zhao Lun was perplexed. Had he done something so unforgivable? Why such hatred?

"Or is it that you have a deep-seated loathing for wizards?"

The wizards' brutal suppression of the merfolk had driven them into the corners of the world, so their hatred was understandable. However, their fear was even more profound. To harbor such hatred was rare among merfolk.

The merfolk spoke their own language, but they showed no intent to communicate.

"Since that's the case, off to the lab with you."

Zhao Lun had no intention of trying to make peace with them. He decided to send them to the laboratory.

Swish! The merfolk were once again bound and immobilized, concealed in darkness.

Clang, clang—some metal pieces emerged from the corner, following a set path toward the sun.

The metal melted, then was restricted by the forces of the void, forming tiny components. After the materials were used up, a new batch was prepared, continuing the cycle until all was spent. Then, the surroundings returned to their prior state.

Zhao Lun sent his wand deep into the divine kingdom for maintenance, and he went to visit some tea trees.

"Mm, not bad. They're becoming quite exceptional."

The tea trees, likely nurtured by the Flower Fairy and irrigated by the divine kingdom's spring water, had changed from their original form.

The fragrance of tea was rich, even before it had been processed.
