Chapter 5 - “THE ANGEL ON THE RIGHT SHOULDER” [PART 2].

II

The three young men were walking along a cobblestone road. The other worldly boy was walking thoughtfully behind the twins. On the other hand, Beatrice was still fresh, and Ross looked slightly exhausted.

"What happened a while ago? For a moment I'm sure I lost control of my actions," thought Kaito.

While the boy was sorting out his thoughts, he was also enjoying the scenery, the trees, the huge mountains that could be seen in the distance and the river that seemed to have no end.

"I don't know why I'm questioning it so much, I'm sure it was a "Deja Vu", but it was much more intense than ever before." he thought and added, relaxing, "Well, I'll find out later how it works.

A somewhat hasty deduction on the part of the young man, but worthy of his way of thinking. After all, in his past life he spent his time fantasizing, that added to reading light novels and watching anime...

"Did you say something?" asked Beatrice, turning around.

"Sorry, I was just thinking out loud."

"Kaito, you must know that I don't know much more about those Katanas you carry. It's hard to know how something you can't use works," commented the twin without turning around.

"And you don't have a clue? So as not to grope around."

"This is more of a myth, I have no way to prove it, besides assumptions. It is said that those Katanas have the last two dragons sealed to them, maybe and only maybe you have to make a contract with them.

"I see..." said Kaito looking at the Katanas on his waist.

"It's just a guess; besides I've never made a contract with someone, let alone with something sealed."

"And how does that contract work?"

"Just offer them something in exchange or whatever they ask you to give you their power."

"I understand."

"And remember to have contact with the Katana to make the contract and lastly?"

"Lastly?"

"It's just my intuition but start with the blue Katana."

"How strange that you go by your intuition," said Beatrice looking at her brother.

"I guess it is," said Ross looking back at the red Katana at Kaito's waist.

After a while, the brown-haired boy realized that it wasn't snowing where they were, which led him to ask:

"Now that I think about it where are we?"

"North of Neveral, close to the Blood Archipelago, but far enough away not to be in danger," said Ross.

"Is it a dangerous place?"

"Yes, it is," the twin replied.

"By the way, right now we're heading to Calay Village and from there we'll go straight to our residence," explained Beatrice pointing south, while looking at the boy.

During his sister's chatter, Ross had stopped when he saw a blue and transparent bird, which seemed to have constellations inside, land on his shoulder.

"Wow! What's that?!" Kaito exclaimed in surprise, unable to take his eyes off the bird.

"It's a spirit," Beatrice replied and added," I haven't seen one in a long time.

"Yes, it seems so," she said as she watched the bird vanish over her shoulder.

The twin stared at his palm as if in the middle of an internal argument until he finally said:

"Change of plans! It was a message from the capital, I'll send them straight to the mansion," he said as he raised his hand to open a portal.

"Ah..." said only Kaito.

"No, no, no!" exclaimed Beatrice exalted, lowering her brother's arm and added," Please, you know I never get the chance to leave.

"But Beatrice, it's dangerous and I don't think I have time to tell someone at the mansion to come and escort you.

"Every time I go out it's with you, Clara or Naomi! I'm the same age as you!" claimed the twin and continued with her head down "I'm old enough to take care of myself.

"You could give the world a chance," said Kaito looking at the twin and trying to say that everything was going to be all right.

Ross looked at the young man with a frown.

"I'm sorry... I won't say anything stupid again," Kaito replied to that look, making a gesture of forgiveness with his hands as if begging for his life.

The young man with blue eyes looked at the sky and took a deep breath, ending with a sigh of surrender.

"Okay... Kaito, this will be your first task, escort my sister to the mansion," Ross ordered.

"Wait, shouldn't it be the other way around?" asked Beatrice confused and raising her hands.

"As you command!" replied Kaito putting his hand on his forehead, just like a soldier accepting his mission.

"There should be no danger, at most some weak beasts. Anyway, you've made your contract fast," Ross explained and then pointed at Beatrice," Don't even think of going to the Blood Archipelago and don't go around saying he's a summoned one or a hero either.

"Even if we're closer, he's still miles away from here, isn't he? And no, I wasn't going to say anything... Maybe, I think, maybe! "Beatrice excused herself, clasping her hands together with her eyes closed.

"I think I'd better take them to the mansion," said the twin, distrustful of them.

"No, no... We'll be fine, you just go," said Beatrice.

"All right, all right! "I'll be back as soon as I'm done, if I'm late, wait for me at the Somnio tree a little further from the village."

He raised his arm again, opened a doorway and, inches away from entering, stopped.

"And one last piece of advice... When making a contract, the more you are willing to give the more you will receive in return..." he explained pointing to the Katanas, but as the young man seemed incredulous at Ross' words, he added," Kaito, don't let me down.

"I don't like him..." So thought the boy after hearing the twin's words, but that dislike is not because of him but because "I don't like to feel obligated to do things", he continued with his reflections.

"Well, I'll see you later," said Ross, entering the doorway.

"All the best brother!" Beatrice said goodbye, while Kaito just waved his hand in farewell with some concern.

Once the portal closed, the boy lowered his hand and asked:

"Are we really going to be, okay"?

"Yes, don't worry, we're going to the village before nightfall! "Beatrice exclaimed excitedly.

The boy smiled at her enthusiasm and they both turned around and continued their way.

III

The young people walked, while the calm winds of Neveral moved the flowers and the grasses of the place, the footsteps of the young woman clearly highlighted her nervousness, as well as a tense smile that she could not hide.

"Is something wrong? "Kaito asked.

"It's the first time I'm outside the mansion without my brother or one of the maids, even in the capital they accompany me, so let's say I'm a little nervous "she said hesitating a little and with trembling hands.

"A little nervous? Of course you're fainting!"

"It's just that I'm not used to this...."

"Your brother overprotects you a lot... And he treats me very badly," she said sadly.

At that moment Beatrice recovered her calm.

"Believe me, he has his reasons, more than justified, to overprotect me. "She said with a sad smile looking at the floor and added, "Besides, the maids also take excessive care of me."

The boy looked at her and chose not to ask anything.

"As for you, don't worry, he is like that with everyone, he is insensitive, he doesn't know how to treat anyone, but he is a great person," she said smiling at him.

The young man smiled back and asked:

"Hey and are there more people in the mansion?"

"Yes! You're going to meet a lot of people! "He exclaimed with open arms and continued, "There are four maids, a butler, although he's a little old now. Also, the magician we mentioned to you a while ago and our older brother.

"That's quite a lot of people..."

"And the mansion is huge! I've lived there all my life and I still don't know how many rooms there are," she explained happily and then said, as if the light bulb had gone on," I know, you could tell me something about your world!

The boy smiled haughtily as if he had been waiting all the time for this moment.

"You have to be attentive because what I am going to tell you in my world is confidential," said the boy.

The young girl watched him with a twinkle in her eyes, making clear her degree of innocence.

"In my world there is a magical device called... Cellular!" declared the young man, to which the girl reacted excitedly and continued, "and epic battles took place in a coliseum better known as 'Soccer Stadium'!

"Soccer stadium?! Didn't you say there was no magic in your world?"

And so, they continued on their journey to the village with a conversation full of Kaito's exaggerations and bullshit.
