Today is the first time we are leaving the territory after all.

"I would be lying if I say I'm not a little worried. But that not much.
After all, your sister is going with us. " I told Dominique.
Veronica is not only a high-class mage, but she also holds the rank of an 11th progenitor. She is not to be trifled with.
So I feel at ease with her watching our backs.
Dominque nodded. "Yes, you are right.
" She told me. She then stopped fidgeting.
The two of us then only had to wait a few more moments before Veronica arrived. She also had several soldiers with her.
When Veronica looked at me and Dominque we stood ram-rod straight and looked her in the eyes.
Basically she has us whipped.
"Excellent form. " Veronica complimented us.
"Thank you. " Dominque and I shouted at the same time.
'Ugh, I now think I get how Xenovia and Irina feel whenever Griselda is around. ' I thought.
I am now their comrade in arms.
"I received the details of the mission from Lady Vampir. " Veronica began.
"Some rogue vampires are camping out in a village and using its citizens as mules. Our mission is to head to said village, kill all rogue vampires, and help what citizens we can.
Any questions?"
Neither of us said a word.
"Good. Then let's move out.
" Veronica said.
Once she did she took off running, us and the soldiers following right behind her.
Eventually we came to the border of our territory and after we confirmed our identities the sentry's on duty let us pass.
Allowing me to enter the outside world again for the first time in eleven years.

After three hours of travel we reached our destination.
A small village on the outskirts of Vratsa. Since castle Blackspire lies in the area near Sofia, Bulgaria's capital city.
Coming to a stop just outside the immediate vicinity of the village, we saw it was shrouded in a light mist.
But this is no ordinary mist. It is one created by a vampire.
I and everyone else can sense the energy within said mist.
Oh and as to why vampires are hunting other vampires, like I keep saying the Progenitor faction is different from the Tepes and Carmilla factions. We try not to cause trouble, and eliminate those of our race that do.
Just like devils hunt stray devils, we of the progenitor faction hunt rogue vampires.
And if these vampires just happen to be aligned with either the Tepes or Carmilla factions, then that's just a lucky break for us.
Veronica surveyed the area in an instant. "I sense three, no four vampires in the area.
" She said. "Soldiers, net formation.
Dominque and Kufa, come with me. This is your initiation into the real world after all.
"
Dominque and I simply nodded, expecting this to happen sooner or later.
If we want to be considered true warriors of our faction then claiming our first kill is the biggest step. It's make or break time when it comes down to taking another life, even if it the life of scum.
Some people just can't handle it.
That's why missions like this are given to beginners as a proving ground. Better to know in a relatively safe situation, then in a situation where shit is hitting the fan in all kinds of ways.
I'm ready for this though. I've already resolved myself to fight for what I want.
So there is no way I am backing down now.
Veronica started making her way towards the village, Dominque and I following right behind her.
The three of us walked into the fog, our senses alert the moment we touched it.
A few seconds after this happened all four vampires appeared in front of us. From their energy signatures I could tell they are all low-level.
Even so I am not letting my guard down.
"Well well, what do we have here?" One of them sneered. He then looked at Veronica and put a lecherous grin on his face.
"My, my, what a beauty. Hey why don't you come over here and I'll show you a good time.
I promise I won't bite, at least not anywhere people can see. "
I shook my head.
This guy just wants to court death doesn't he.
Veronica didn't say a word. She simply started smiling.
Which means she is close to losing her shit. I've seen it enough time over the past two years to know.
"Dominque, Kufa, take care of this trash now please. Otherwise I won't be able to stop myself from gutting these pathetic pigs like the dirty animals they are.
" Veronica spoke, giving all of the vampires in front of us a cold look.
"Bitch!" One of them shouted, taking a step forward.
As soon as he did his entire body was frozen before he could even blink.
Did I forget to mention Veronica's specialty is ice magic just like my power?
"Hah, sorry you two. I just couldn't hold it in any longer.
" Veronica said, placing a hand on her cheek. "No matter, there are still three of them for you to take care of.
So go get to work. "
"Cunt, are you looking down on us?!" One of the vampires shouted.
Dominque and I payed him no mind.
We simply did as instructed.
I rushed toward the first vampire, and before he could even speak I punched him right in the jaw with my left hand. I heard his jaw crack as teeth and blood flew out of his mouth as he fell onto the ground.

Then before he could do anything I removed my sword from my sheath and chopped off his head. The vampire's body went limp a few seconds afterwards.
Vampires might have immortal bodies, but immortal doesn't mean unkillable. Chop off their head, damage their heart, or blast them with holy energy and their down for the count, just like devils.
