Synopsis
In 2306 SE, humanity faced an unprecedented biological catastrophe. The Earth's ecosystem collapsed due to excessive genetic experimentation, unleashing a swarm of monstrous creatures. Scientists attempted to harness genetic material from ancient species using the "Erebus Project." The experiment spiraled out of control, spawning terrifying beasts known as "The Devourers." These creatures ravaged Earth, merging their DNA with humanity's. Humanity struggled to survive amidst the monstrous onslaught. The Devourers' influence granted some humans extraordinary abilities, dubbed "Chrono-Force." Researchers discovered ways to harness Chrono-Force, giving rise to temporal warriors. These warriors protected humanity's last strongholds. Humanity rebounded, establishing fortified cities. Temporal Guardians defended these metropolises. Two factions emerged: the Timekeeper Alliance and the Freedom Federation. In 516 NGE, Leo Subaru was born with exceptional Chrono-Force affinity. His parents worried about his fragile health. Leo lay silently, surrounded by life-support machinery. Sedated, Leo entered a dream world. Kaida, a majestic wolf-like creature, materialized. Kaida's piercing blue eyes sparkled. "Hey, young one! I'm your temporal guardian. Together, we'll master Chrono-Force and conquer the Devourers!" Kaida's tail wagged energetically. Kaida's arrival marked the beginning of Leo's extraordinary adventure.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Battle of Society

Kaida revealed a fiendish expression, eager to intimidate Leo into submission. However, his attempt only seemed to amuse Little Leo.

With a gentle smile, Little Leo approached Kaida, curiosity radiating from his eyes. He reached out a tiny hand, and to Kaida's surprise, began gently touching his face. Kaida's menacing grin faltered.

For Little Leo, Kaida wasn't just a cute wolf; he was an extraordinary creature, a rare gem amidst the darkness. Innocence and wonder sparkled in Little Leo's eyes as he explored Kaida's features. His tiny fingers danced across Kaida's face, discovering every contour.

Kaida retreated two steps, his eyes narrowing as he rubbed his reddened nose. He had never encountered someone so utterly unaffected by his intimidating presence. The unexpected touch still lingered, confusing his senses.

"He's certainly an oddity," Kaida thought, shaking his head. "A powerful Fate Destiny such as myself shouldn't bother with this insignificant child."

"Child, what is your name?"

"I'm Leo Subaru. Are you really called Kaida? That's a cute name!"

"No brat!" Kaida rebuked, his voice thundering. "You dare to describe me, the illustrious Fate Destiny, as 'cute'?!" His eyes blazed with indignation.

"I am a formidable presence, transcending mortal bounds and wielding unfathomable power over fate itself!" Kaida declared, his chest heaving. "My abilities reshape destinies, bending reality to my whim. 'Cute' is an insult, a travesty, a—"

"Do not commit this blasphemy again!" Kaida's warning hung in the air, his dignity affronted. Little Leo's innocent remark had unwittingly awakened the Fate Destiny's ire.

Leo grinned mischievously. "Then it's settled! I'll call you Kaida, or perhaps the Handsome Kaida?" His eyes sparkled with curiosity and playful intent.

Kaida's scowl deepened, his face reddening. "Just Kaida will suffice," he growled.

Despite Kaida's gruff demeanor, Leo's fascination grew. He continued sizing up the Wolf, intrigued by his enigmatic presence. Leo attempted to bridge the gap between them, but to his surprise, the distance remained constant, no matter how many steps he took.

His curiosity piqued, Leo quickened his pace, but Kaida seemed to mirror his movements, maintaining the elusive gap. Leo's eyes twinkled with determination. "Why won't you let me closer?" he wondered aloud.

His true desire was simple: to touch Kaida's fur again, feeling an inexplicable connection to this mysterious wolf. Leo smile widened, and he accelerated his pursuit, eager to unravel the mystery surrounding Kaida.

The Fate Destiny, Kaida, furrowed his brow, pondering the peculiar encounter. For a moment, he deliberated, reassessing his tactics. Then, a startling realization struck him.

"It's actually quite challenging to deceive this child," Kaida thought, impressed despite himself. Leo's innocence and openness seemed to neutralize his cunning tricks.

Kaida's eyes gleamed with temptation. "Fine then, Leo. Fortune smiles upon you. Choose your destiny:

Shall you become a legendary hero, revered by generations?

An unparalleled sovereign, ruling the heavens?

Or a mighty dictator, commanding absolute power?

Which path will you choose?" Kaida's voice dripped with allure, testing Leo's ambitions.

The Fate Destiny's passionate voice resonated with his kaleidoscopic aura, while his dramatic gestures evoked the grandeur of a legendary hero worshipped by all. However, his fervent pitch didn't elicit the expected reaction.

Before him stood Leo Subaru, seemingly unfazed by the tantalizing prospects. No ecstatic tears of joy, no enthusiastic declarations of ambition. The youngster's calm demeanor puzzled Kaida.

"Doesn't he grasp the magnitude of these opportunities?" Kaida wondered. "Or does he simply lack the drive to seize greatness?" Intrigued, Kaida awaited Leo's response.

Leo's nonchalant response cut through Kaida theatrics: "I don't want to."

The Fate Destiny's grin faltered. His vibrant colors dulled, and his posture deflated. "What?! You reject destiny's call?" Kaida's voice trembled with incredulity.

Undeterred, Leo stretched out his hand once more, fingers extended to pinch Kaida's fur. The wolf's eyes widened, interpreting this gesture as playful mockery.

"Why refuse?" Kaida asked, genuine curiosity seeping into his tone. "Don't you crave power, fame, or glory?"

....

The atmosphere grew awkward as Kaida, the little wolf, locked gazes with Leo. The child's serene expression, reminiscent of a listless cloud drifting lazily across the sky, left Kaida perplexed.

"Is this brat an idiot?" Kaida thought, bafflement swirling within. "Why would the revered Fate Gem select him, of all individuals?''

Kaida's anxiety spiked, his voice trembling. "Why refuse? You must be foolish to pass up such destiny!" Desperation crept into his tone.

"If Leo declines," Kaida thought, "my existence will lose purpose." The Fate Destiny's identity relied on manipulating fate's threads. This unusual refusal challenged his fundamental role.

Kaida's multicolored aura flickered, reflecting his turmoil. "Don't you crave greatness? Power? Recognition?" His queries hung in the air, pleading for Leo to reconsider.

Leo shrugged nonchalantly. "If I don't want to, then I don't want to!" He flashed a cheeky grin. "This is ridiculous. Are you seriously trying to argue with a kid?"

The little wolf, Kaida, stood dumbfounded, scratching his head in bewilderment. He opened his mouth, prepared to unleash a scathing retort, but hesitated.

"How could this child be so impervious to reason?" Kaida wondered. Yet, Leo's words struck a chord. Arguing would be futile.

The little wolf's face lit up with excitement. "Splendid! Your rebellious spirit aligns perfectly with my expectations. Fate, then, is akin to a wooden club – let us wield it with gusto!"

Without granting Leo an opportunity to counter, Kaida enthusiastically rattled off a flurry of nonsensical declarations. "We shall shatter conventional bonds! Defy destiny's constraints! Forge our own paths!"

The world around them stood still, eerily silent. Leo pondered deeply before turning to Kaida with genuine sincerity. "Can you be my friend?"

Kaida's grin widened. "Brat, befriending me comes at a steep price!"

Undaunted, Leo declared, "I'm not afraid!"

Kaida's eyes sparkled. "Very well, I'll take you up on that!" His mind still reeled, wondering why the Fate Gem had chosen this enigmatic child.

"Seal our pact for the next hundred years!" Leo extended his hand.

As their palms clasped, Leo noticed Kaida's hand felt oddly ... rubbery.

The Fate Destiny, enthralled by his triumph, missed the subtle smile creeping onto Leo's lips. For a child beset by mortality's shadow, a constant companion was the ultimate solace. This whimsical wolf friendship was an unexpected treasure.

Leo's initial refusal stemmed from deep-seated fear. He dreaded forging bonds, only to lose them like fleeting fairy tale characters, leaving him shattered. Aunt Shirley's enchanting stories now served as poignant reminders.

Abandoned in darkness, devoid of connection, was his greatest terror. Leo's smile hinted at newfound courage, a resolve to seize fleeting joys.

A split second passed before the little wolf expression disintegrated. Leo seized the opportunity, pinching Simba's prized fur - that iconic, majestic and supremely vital feature.

Darkness enveloped Leo's radiant smile. Kaida shrieked, recoiling in surprise. "Ahh! My majestic fur!" The Fate Destiny's wounded dignity sent him tumbling backward.

Leo basked in the fleeting triumph, his heart swelling with unbridled joy. This whimsical encounter, filled with laughter and spontaneity, ranked among his happiest memories. Kaida's retreat only fueled Leo's amusement.

In this instant, Leo grasped the beauty of life. Being alive meant embracing quirky connections and finding happiness amidst chaos. His eyes sparkled with renewed appreciation for existence.

526 NGE, Lumina City, one of the Freedom Federation's hundred premier metropolises, pulsed with vibrant energy. Within its bustling streets, the renowned Lumina Chrono Vanguard Academy stood tall, celebrated for its pioneering rune technology. As the new academic year dawned, the campus transformed into a hub of frenetic activity.

Excitement hung in the air, mingling with anticipation. Fresh faces mingled with familiar ones, all united by their passion for innovation. The academy's prestigious reputation drew talented youngsters and scholars from far and wide.

Within its historic walls, groundbreaking research and rigorous training forged the next generation of visionary leaders. The hum of cutting-edge technology and lively discussions filled the corridors, heralding another thrilling year of discovery and growth.

Amidst the bustling campus, enthusiastic recruiters vied for attention:

*The Soldier Department*

"Students, gather 'round! Join the illustrious Immortal Rampart Society, the soldier department's crème de la crème! We're scouting talented newcomers!"

*The Vitality Society*

"Don't miss your chance to forge your destiny! Become a future commander! The Vitality Society, a hub for geniuses, welcomes you. Take your first step toward glory!"

*The Divine Dragon Society*

"Talented individuals, unite! The Divine Dragon Society, one of the rune department's elite ten, invites you. Leave mediocrity behind and seize excellence! (No slackers, please.) Come, embark on your journey!"

The school plaza thrived like a vibrant marketplace, buzzing with enthusiasm. Recruitment season had officially begun, and senior students eagerly vied for the attention of newcomers.

Dashing male seniors, decked out in their finest attire and sporting stylish hairstyles, enthusiastically promoted their societies. Their dual objectives were unmistakable: woo potential recruits and catch the eyes of captivating female juniors.

For many, this annual spectacle was a cherished tradition, fueling camaraderie and rivalry. Societies polished their pitches, showcasing achievements and benefits to outshine competitors. The air pulsed with persuasive calls, vibrant banners and spirited music.

Nothing electrified the seniors more than the prospect of expanding their ranks with promising talent. This was their moment to shine, forging connections and shaping the future of their societies.

Student Finnley Wilder, President of the Misfit Society, flashed a charming smile. "Hello there! Joining our esteemed ranks, one of the future five great societies, would be the wisest decision of your life. We cater exclusively to exceptional talents who stand out from the crowd."

He turned to two junior sisters, his voice taking on a persuasive tone. "Don't rush off, lovely juniors! Let me enlighten you."

But the sisters exchanged wary glances and swiftly fled.

A nearby bystander snickered. "Isn't the Misfit Society blacklisted? They're notorious for exploiting members. Yet, they still dare recruit."

''That's right, hurry up and run away! The president of the Misfit Society looks like a hooligan, and my dad always warned me about people like him. He said to beware of false flattery from black-hearted seniors who only care about exploiting others for their own gain. I'm glad I dodged that bullet!''

Finnley's face fell as he watched the two female students flee, their expressions conveying alarm. Leo, the vice president, stood by, amusement dancing in his eyes.

"Give up, Finnley," Leo chuckled. "The new student handbook is everywhere. It exposes all the academy's societies, including ours."

Finnley scowled. "Laugh all you want, Leo! As vice president, shouldn't you show some solidarity?"

Leo's smile broadened, unable to contain his amusement. Their "society" was a far cry from prestigious, boasting a meager two members: President Finnley and himself, the vice president.

Their fledgling organization, technically a student union, lacked official approval. This relegated them to the status of a "dark society" – a mere shadow of legitimate student organizations.

"Hey, hey, junior sister! Come take a look at senior brother," Finnley announced, striking a pose. "Don't run, junior sister!" he added, as if anyone could bear to be within a 10-foot radius of his outfit.

Finnley had clearly put a lot of thought into his ensemble, opting for a stunning black rose flower suit. The words "tasteless" and "ostentatious" came to mind. His flashiness was completely in shambles, leaving onlookers bewildered.

Leo actively supported Finnley's endeavor, diligently handing out flyers to passersby. However, their recruitment efforts were relegated to a discreet corner, as they lacked official society status.

Becoming an official society was the ultimate dream for Finnley. For that to happen, they needed at least five committed members. Unfortunately, the veterans disregarded them, forcing Finnley and Leo to focus their recruitment efforts on newcomers.

*Background*

Leo and Finnley were second-year students in the prestigious Commander Division of Lumina Chrono Vanguard Academy. Despite being dorm mates, Finnley rarely occupied his bed, opting instead for off-campus accommodations. His reason? The dormitories were far too modest for his refined tastes.

*Finnley Wilder Ambitions*

Finnley harbored grand ambitions – to establish an unparalleled society within the academy. His vision was to create a group that would leave an indelible mark on the institution. Many students shared similar aspirations, but Finnley stood out.

*Beyond Surface-Level Judgments*

To truly understand Finnley, one had to look beyond his flashy exterior. His talent and soul power were mediocre, but his personality and traits told a different story. Beneath the bravado and ostentation lay a sharp mind and unwavering determination. Finnley's charisma and persuasive nature made him a compelling leader.

Of course, even if his dreams were grand, reality offered little substance. Recruiting new students was their only viable hope.

After half a day of ceaseless shouting, Finnley and Leo's throats ached with exhaustion. Passersby ignored them, leaving their recruitment efforts futile. Deflated, they crouched by the roadside, gulping down water to quench their parched throats.

"We can't continue like this," Finnley exclaimed, frustration etched on his face. "Our voices are spent, and our message is falling flat. We need to drastically increase the scale of recruiting!"
