Thud.
I sit on the rug in my cell and think of the past few days I've been inside this body.
"Today we're finalizing the case of Reo Cromwell, Due to your leakage about the academy to outsiders and the endangerment of hundreds of students you deserve the death penalty... but, due to your former status the council has accepted a favour to instead place you into the Ark indefinitely."
I curl up to my toes and wrap myself with the rug the only source of warmth around me.
"This cant be happening to me, I don't deserve this. That stupid author if only he could write a conclusive ending, I've been thrown into the deep end and I haven't even been given my floaties."
I hear footsteps approaching and look up and make myself more presentable .
"Cromwell, your food is here."
I look at the plate of overcooked oats and chunky milk.
"Excuse me- Mr guard."
The guard flares his mana towards me.
I feel a rough and abrasive sensation all over my body and he hounds.
"What? You want to complain about the food? Fine. Since this food is so beneath you, I'll take it back to the kitchen and dispose of it."
Before I could say anything the guard walks away with my food.
As I was going back to sulk on an empty stomach, I hear faint footsteps sneaking up to my door.
"Here, you deserve some food even if its not the best quality, please eat some."
I look up and see a guard wearing a uniform two sizes too large.Â
Even through the helmet I could see the guards kindness, I had a suspicion.
"Thank you very much for the food, would you be so kind to tell me your name."
The guard pauses for a second and answers.
"I'm Finn Oak, I can't tell you much more or else I'll get caught by Shem."
As I watch Finn walk away it made me question if that was his real name.
While eating the gluey oats my thinking is broken by a soft.
[Ding]
I instantly stop eating the gloop and joy covers my face.
"HAHA, FINALLY."
The cellmate across from me stares intently at me wondering what all this noise is from.

I shakily press Y with my finger.
[Hey Adam, or should I call you Reo now? Sorry for the delay I've been busy buffing and nerfing some things just for you. You'll get your wishes soon but, I had to tweak them a little but they'll still apply. FYI, If you do plan to die at least make it entertaining, art is an explosion after all.]
My eyebrow twitches at the last message.
"What do you mean plan to die! I will no hit run this! Just wait and see!"
Strength: F-
Agility: F-
Endurance: F+
Mana: F-
Control: D+
Attunement: Psychokinesis, ???Â
Skills: Ambidextrous, Watcher's Paradox, Spellweaver
Psychokinesis... Really, The most common first element allowing for you to throw things with half of your strength stat and allows basic telepathic communication only when the other person consents to forming a link. Lets just hope my second one will be better once I unlock it.
Continuing through my status I see the skills tab and try to test them out.
Spellweaver allowed me to form a string of mana between my index and thumb even when inside these mana dampener cells.
IÂ could even feel the mana inside the walls.
"Incredible, It feels like I've just gained something I was missing my entire life."
I was messing around with the new skill but I wasn't able to form a string of mana on my left hand.
"What the, shouldn't my Ambidextrous ability be working."
The whole reason I picked this skill is because it would allow for multicasting and increase the efficiency of my spells due to Mana Harmony.Â
Then I remember the second message I was notified about.

I quickly press Y hoping it'll clear up my confusion
[Hey Reo, it's me again just figured you'd check the second message after seeing something wrong with your skills.]
That bastard knows
[But don't fear, I know your first wish was being ambidextrous and all but with the combination of Spellweaver It just felt unfair ya know. But true to my word I've made you ambidextrous, just only your feet.]
Huh? What use are my feet, I cant cast spells using my feet. I keep reading the message and my face continues to drop
[Anywhoo speaking of Spellweaver, a skill that allows such fine control of mana can already make you defeat most enemies with large enough reserves. So to balance it out, I capped your mana reserves to B rank and given you the Psychokinesis attunement, Isn't that exciting!]
I'm not too surprised considering I already saw my attunement and brushed it away hoping my second attunement will be something useful.
Although having my mana reserves capped at B is annoying. That means I wont be able to use any X tier spells if and I mean IF I unlock any.
[And your final wish, a good ol classic power boost, one that can make your stats go up two whole grades permanently, now cause I'm so nice I'll allow it to work on your mana reserves but I've added a special condition needed for it to activate. No one can be looking at you, pretty cool huh, had to rack my brains thinking that one up. Good luck!!! ps: don't make yourself die pretty please.]
I close the message and push my fists together and shout
"What is up with him and thinking that I'll make myself die? I'm playing to win here"
I just shouted that outload and quickly cover my mouthÂ
"Hey kid, what's your issue. I've been watching you acting like a crazy person since that wood guy gave you food. Have you finally fallen insane after only being on the Ark for less than a week?"
I look diagonally from me and this man with dishevelled hair, two stumps where his shoulders should be and countless of scars across his body but despite his body telling stories of ferocious battles he has an aura of serenity around him.Â
"Ah, sorry Kael, did I interrupt your meditation."
Kael Draven, the father to one of the main supporting characters Selene. Kael was a swordsman who's legendary feats once echoed throughout the kingdom, now reduced to a man sitting in a cell. He lifts his hair out of the way and you realize that he has been looking at you the entire time.
"Interrupt my meditation? You would have to scream so loud that the entire Ark would shake."
Kael chuckles lightly to his own joke.
"Reo isn't it, I've observed you long enough to tell that you aren't gonna stay here for long, You have that same look that my wife had. When you escape this place—and you will—go to Grimmdorf. Deliver this message: 'The Scarlet Reaper has fallen, but I have risen.' They will understand. You'll find shelter and a package there."
I process the information.
"um, yeah... I understand?"
I feel a choking bloodlust flood into my cell .
"Do. Not. Open. It... Understood?"
It left as quickly as it came and I rapidly shook my head and sighed.Â
'Of course the author never mentioned that Kael was the scarlet reaper'
With the confidence given from Kael I started to devise a plan.
'We're deep inside a dried up lake with guards patrolling every four hours. The hardest part will be keeping Watcher's Paradox active throughout the escape. One person looks at me for too long and my stats will back to normal and it'll be over.'
'Maybe if I practice enough control with Spellweaver I'll be able to cause the mana dampers to shut off allowing me to break through them and the doors with my D- strength when Watcher's Paradox activates'
I put my hand underneath my chin
'yes... that could work but it'll take time.Â
