Smoke filled the girl's lungs as she ran through the scorching forests
"What are you guys doing! It's just one Augmenter!" Yelled the captain of the Maintainers
She skilfully dodges the attacks of the Maintainer's Elemental Manipulators. But suddenly, a barrage earth bullets gets sent at her, injuring her badly. She keeps on running and hides herself in a cave.
She checks her surroundings for anyone who pursues her before she starts checking out her wounds.
"Shit! It hurts!" she yells
She leans on the wall of he cave and sits down. She takes off her gray coat, revealing her wavy, short, scarlet hair. She then proceeds to take off her shirt and creates a flaming rod to press it against her wounds.
She screams in agony during the process but bears through it. After the wound closes, she pulls out a spray bottle filled with a solution of water and herbs.
"Mondlicht, i hope your little concoction actually works" she mutters before spraying the contents all over her wound
Finally, she bandages the wound and wears her bloody white shirt back on. Breathing heavily, she goes through her bag and fishes out a crystal ball, swirling with magical energy and hides it in a hole she dug up
After some time, she grabs a sheet of mana paper to write on so she can report the status of her mission to her mentor.
But before she could start writing, she hears footsteps in the cave.
She sees the silhouette of a man blocking the only exit
"Surrender the Crystal ball, child" Demanded the silhouette, it's voice echoing through the cave
"And if i don't want to?" she says with effort due to her injuries
"You don't have a choice here" reminded the silhouette
she chuckles "Go to hell!"
Just then, a team of 5 men wearing cloaks come in the cave, holding staffs
"Capture her alive" ordered the silhouette as he left the cave
The cloaked men start casting a spell, the girl suddenly feels drowsy all of a sudden
"W-what is this?" she asks
before she loses consciousness, she writes the words
'the crystal is in a cave on the outskirts of Frinfissor. The silhouette captured me'
After that, she is bound and thrown into a caravan with her stuff too. And the caravan drives off
...
The old man crumpled the piece of mana paper and threw it into the fireplace of the study.
"That fool girl! this just got more complicated!" yelled the old man
The door of the study opens and in comes a woman in her late 20s wearing a pale blue dress, carrying a tray with teacups and a kettle
"is something of the matter, Father?" asked the woman
"it's Scarlet, the Silhouette got her" answered the old man
The woman walked to the table beside him and started pouring tea
"But did she complete the mission?"
"Yes, the ball is in Frinfissor. But what's he point of completing the mission when she got captured"
"Shall i mobilize the Warriors?"
"No need. Give me a cup" the old man gestures for the tea.
The woman gave him a cup and he drinks it
"For now, we should wait for Him" said the old man
"Are you sure, father?"
"it's only for a week, Mondlicht. She is strong enough to handle a week"
