Chapter 1 - Did I... really just die?

Everything is dark, so very dark, and cold.

My head hurts, simply thinking makes my head hurt. I can't feel my own body, none of it.

I cant even remember my own name.

But from the little my mind is able to recall, I remember a storm... then something flying towards me... that's all I can recall.

What has happened? Am I... dead? Did I... really just die?

Is this what heaven is? Just a black empty void? Has everything I've been praying for, been going to church for, even dedicated my entire life to... just a lie?

It's feels like I want to cry, I wanna go back, get out of this abyss.

Then, out of nowhere, a light blinds my sight, it's like a crack in the ever lasting blackness. Like a sign of hope.

"I can hear your wishes." a voice calls to me.

"God? Is that... you?" I call out.

"I guess you could call me that. But I am one of many gods who rule over their own worlds."

I take in the information, listening intently. "So, father, what happens to me now? Do I go to paradise? Do I go to purgatory? What will happen to me?"

A grunt comes from the echoing voice "Well, since you have been loyal, and because someone asked me to, I will give you a second life."

"A second life?" I ask.

"Yes... a second life, in a new world. Where new life, new species, new things in general thrive"

I nod in my mind "So... god, you mentioned someone asked you to bring me a second life. May I ask who?".

"Well, a god of another world, or better said goddess, has taken a liking to you. How you teach, how you pray, how you speak. It all intrigues her very much. So she asked me, after your death, to bring you to her world, so that she may meet you personally." The god tells me.

"I understand."

"I want to ask one last thing... what is my name? I can't seem to remember it." I ask.

"That is for you to decide, you will not need your old name in this new world, the old one would sound unusual in this new world."

"Alright, is that all?"

"Yes, that is all. You may go now."

"God, may I inform you I can't feel any part of my body? I can't go by myself, literally." I inform the god.

"I was not talking literally." The god responds.

"I have nothing more to say, so I'll be on my way, and so will you. You will soon wake up, in your new home."
