Ian's POV
The forest came into full view all at once. I could see the Oak trees from miles away my ears picking up the chirps of birds from even further. The forest was beautiful. Darlias stood on the horizontal plane adding to the allure of the place.
The full moon shone brightly and I could feel it's rays passing through my body, my cells tingling with thrill and excitement.
Sprinting through the moonlight,l I let out emotions I didn't know I had suppressed . Anger, worry, pain. Thoughts feeling my head.
Dangerous thoughts....
I clawed at trees and protruding rocks venting all my frustration and excitement, claiming my territory.
Not that it was mine in the first place....
A while had passed and I felt the urge begin to diminish and I knew the transformation was about to end. For some minutes , a wave of sadness hit me. Being a hybrid , my transformation was limited to the full moon unlike my siblings who could change at will .
I scanned the forest one more time . Valnaria sure was beautiful but it was being ruined by people obsessed with power. People like my brother Pierre, who always felt that humans were nothing but space takers and lap dogs .
Thinking about him, was he capable of change..., I wondered .
I pondered about what happened to the Alpha , he had incredible strength and I shivered slightly at the thought of who or what could best him.
Resting on top a cliff, I sat , the air current drifting my fur with its tempo and I thought of May again.
"I wonder how she is doing with all this madness"
I sat wallowing in my thoughts until my nose picked up something. It was swift and probably would have escaped my human olfaction.
Soon my eyes picked up the scent , as I could see the stilloute of a human or something that looked human running about a mile away blending in with the shadows .
It was fast and even in my werewolf form it was hard to keep up.The forest was meant to be uninhabited and even more so on the full moon due to the folklores that come with it.
I could feel my heart pounding loudly but it wasn't the full moon's rush or energy it was pure panic. Because the figure was moving with an incredible speed towards one direction, the cabin....
I sprinted as fast as I could trying to catch up with the figure but it was difficult not even adding the head start. I could still pick up sounds of the ruffles of the leaves and I followed in that direction.
The figure continued heading down the forest blending in with the shadows of the trees. I followed behind getting closer breaking branches and smashing leaves as I passed.
"What in the..... " I exclaimed. My claws began to retract inside slowly turning into regular nails. My sprint reducing in speed by the second, the fur on my hand starting to fall off.
"It just had to be now..." I screamed in my head.I could see the faint glow from my golden eyes fade off , my heightened sight going with it and soon I was standing on my two feet, my clothes torn , the remainder that hadn't ripped off was drenched in sweat and occasional splashes of blood.
"Nyx.." I muttered under my breath. The figure had long gone but I still knew the way to the cabin. And hopefully I would be able to get there on time.
I ran through the darkness, the feel of danger eminent . Carefully avoiding trees and protrusions, I ran through the fastest way I knew back to the cabin .
"Please be safe.." I silently prayed.
Before long, I spotted the cabin. My ears could pick up no signs of a scuffle. It meant two things, I panicked for nothing or the battle was already over.
Running closer to the cabin, I was starting to think there was a third option. I could smell something, something unfamiliar. I began to feel irritated as my nose began to twitch. I could hear two voices inside but was unable to pick out their individual sounds. What ever the case was, I was going to protect the Princess.
I picked up the longest shard of glass I could find and jumped through the window . Rushing in, I sprinted in one leap to the other end of the cabin swiftly pointing the sharpest end of the glass to his neck holding him firmly.
His calm demeanor didn't change, his black hair drifting slowly with the wind. He turned to me slowly and I could see his hazel eyes and a slight smile cornered on his face.
"My oh my, the crimson wolf has returned." He said smuggish grin on his face.
