"I can't believe this is happening"
That's what she said.
"I can't- I-I" she burst into tears and buried her face into Sarah's shoulder. Both of them sat down by a tree.
Most of the girls had broken down once they got out of the bear's sight. The boys sat or stood by themselves, figetting or holding back tears.
Sarah, James and for some reason, Aryan were comforting some of the students.
Sarah said nothing to her classmate, she knew exactly what everyone was feeling.
"What now?" James finally spoke out, he was leaning on the tree instead of sitting next to it.
"I want to kill the bear. I'm sure you do too" Sarah stated.
"We don't know what that thing can do, it's not a normal bear. We are better off trying to leave the forest." James argued.
"And what about Mike?" Sarah stated, this was on everyone's minds.
A dead friend, a missing friend and a giant bear trying to kill them. The triad of peak Isekai.
"We split into groups, one small group for finding Mike and keeping track of the bear. The other group will wade through the forest." James has already formulated a plan to get Mike back the moment he noticed that Mike wasn't there.
"If we can watch the bear, we can figure out how to kill it." Sarah wanted to branch in his idea.
"Even if we observe the bear, it could have tricks up its sleeve that we would never find out about until it's too late. I mean you saw that thing right?"
"I get what you're saying, but if we fight with precautions taken, then we have a good chance at beating it. You saw how slow it became."
"Fine, then we will do a 50/50 split of people..." James had to take into account his dead and missing friends "-Tyson and Mike... One group of 15 for exploration and 14 for bear management."
It wasn't easy. Sarah wanted to cry, she wished she was as caring as Mike, to run back straight for her friend, regardless of a monsters presence.
Had they even asked a single relevant question, none of this would have happened. This... This is the fault of all of them. Including Sarah herself. She accepted it and responded.
"That sounds like a plan. I'm guessing your going to lead on bear management?" James was a natural born leader, he hated it when Lloyd became the Green Ninja and not Kai.
"Of course, and your on exploration then." The two were about to shake hands, but the Indian in the room, or the wannabe Aizen, spoke out.
"What about food and water? We need a group for that." Aryan did not want to be a part of either exploration nor bear management.
The bear scared him shitless, and the thought of running into more freaks would scare him pissless.
His best bet was to create a group that did neither and was protected by both.
"But there's tons of fruit around here, and there's a pond right there." James pointed out, they were under an apple tree, this forest was loaded with fruit.
Shame it housed a giant bear, what do they even eat?
"That could just be this area, what if the bear caught up and destroyed this place, we don't know what it can do!" Aryan is trying his hardest to do as little as possible here.
Sarah sighed, she had already come into agreement with James, she did not care much about specifics as long as something was done about that freak bear.
"Let's just give him what he wants, 9 food and water gatherers. We take the rest." And the three of them came into agreement, though two of them did not like the thirds input.
And so began the first day of the forest, there were some hiccups but now we are here.
After distributing fruits among everyone, James and Sarah gathered everyone around and started splitting them into their groups.
8 people who were still very upset about the whole ordeal were sent to Aryan's group.
9 people who wanted to take action against the bear were Sarah's group.
And the remaining would join James to search out the forest.
Could all of this had been prevented? Yes!
Would Tyson still be alive if he wasn't such a dumb fuck? Yes again!
And what do we do now? Now that we know where we went wrong.
We find Mike and we learn more about the bear.
Then we create weapons from small pieces of stone and wood. There's enough trees and rocks for that here.
If we find Mike and the end of the forest, we leave.
If we find Mike and not find the end of the forest, we search and prepare to fight the bear as well.
If we don't find Mike and find the edge of the forest, we stay and prepare whilst searching for Mike.
If we don't find Mike and don't find the edge of the forest, we still prepare to fight the bear.
In every case, knowing how to beat the bear is absolutely necessary.
Hold on Mike, we are coming for you.
Good job Sarah! This organ is called the brain~
See what happens when you don't get carried away with "omigosh Isekai!" And actually take a moment to look at things?
Sarah will definitely NOT find Mike, because Mike doesn't want to be found.
The bear however is much easier to spot, mainly cause it's always searching.
Searching for you.
