I knew what I had to do. I was determined to keep an eye on him and find the right moment to interrogate him. I knew I'd be taking a big risk by doing that, but I didn't care. A journey of a thousand miles starts from a step, and I was about to take my first step.
My eyes were on him all day, but I didn't make it obvious that I was spying. I waited and waited. I kept waiting until the perfect moment came, school dismissal. When most of the students were walking towards the exit, Nex was walking in the opposite direction. I knew there was something very fishy about him. I was about to start following him when Star tapped me on the shoulder.
"Hi Star, I'm sorry but this isn't a good time". "You want to follow him right" she asked with a pitiful demeanor. "What is it" I asked in anxiety. She made a deep sigh before opening up. "I used my magic, I went through the burrow and I saw the future" Star said with tears in her eyes. I was eager to know what she saw. Was I making the right choice? "When you followed him, a snake like woman killed you" she said, crying her heart out. "Please don't do it" she continued. I was in shock, "Oh my...thanks for that Star, I won't follow him" I said. "Are you sure bestie" she asked. "I promise". She was happy hearing that from me. As soon as I said that, her mom drove in and picked her up.
As I looked at the car leaving the school premises, I felt like a betrayer. I was going to betray Star's trust and go after Nex, even with what she told me.
