Lord Davis was stranded and confused. His men were killed by the bad guys, except for one that ran away to report to him. He was in his huge room on his magnificent bed thinking of all the possible enemies that would have the nerve to follow his woman and kidnap her. He couldn't think of anybody of relative importance except his step mother, she was a suspect in this case because she has been trying all means to end him and bring him to his knees. But he wasn't sure about it because he doesn't think his step mom has that kind of nerve or power to send people after his woman.
Davis: (deep in thoughts) if it's not my step mom then who could it be? Who else is alive and capable of kidnapping her? (he was still deep in thoughts when he remembered the gang that captured him when he was sixteen and trained him to be who he is today) No, it couldn't have been them. I trust them so much, I don't think they would do that to an apprentice. Even if they are responsible for her kidnap, why did they do it? Who sent them? What did the person offer them to kidnap her? What will they profit from it? They hardly do a job that won't profit them.
(He was still thinking when he heard a weak knock on the door, he quickly ran to the door thinking it was Cassandra. When he opened the door he was shocked to see one of the men he sent to save her. The man was weak, he could barely breathe or stand, immediately the door was opened, he fell to the ground on his face. Davis quickly carried him to the bed and called the doctor to come and check on him. Before the doctor arrived he cleaned the wounds, applied spirit and gave the man some sedatives so that he would sleep and forget about the pain. When the doctor arrived he took over and in some few minutes he was done)
Davis: (he was paranoid, he was sitting in his beer parlour drinking a strong wine that was also alcoholic, it had a very strong smell that could make someone to faint. He drank it to calm his nerves, or he would do something he would later regret, he wished he could just guessed the person that had the mind to kidnap his woman and kill his men without an iota of fear or respect for him) if I get the person that did this to me, I will so deal with them to the extent they would wish they had never crossed my path.
Doctor: (he had finished taking care of the man, so he came out of the room and went to Davis, who was angry and annoyed. He sat down close to him on a stool in the beer parlour but he didn't drink. After a long time of silence, he patted Davis at the back) You should take it easy man, take it easy. She would be okay, is it not Cassandra? Is like you have forgotten that she is a fighter and nothing can easily happen to her like that, she will fight for herself and hold on till you come to save her, so don't be too sober. It's not good for your health, stop drinking(he collected the drink from his hands by force) look at you, you are already drunk but you are still drinking, do you want to pass out quickly?
Davis: (he was tipsy but still wanted to drink, so he began to struggle with the doctor in order to collect the drink but the he wouldn't give it to him) give it back, it's none of your business if I pass out.
Doctor: you should know that excessive drinking of strong alcoholic drinks could cause liver cancer and diseases, so you should be careful. And moreover you've had enough alcohol for one day. Don't you want to know about your friend that was hospitalised?
Davis: (he remembered he sent his childhood friend to the hospital for treatment, but since then he had not heard from him again, so he became interested) Yes, what about him, where is he? Since that day I have not heard from him again, did he run away?
Doctor: (he laughed at what he said) run away? To where? Have you forgotten that you had beat him to pulp? It took time for him to recover fully. He got fully well today, but I didn't discharge him because I know you would need more information from him. So anytime you are ready just tell me so that we go together and have a little chat. I think the guy might be of use to you in the search of Cassandra and her kidnapper. What do you think?
Davis: (he was happy that the doctor used his brain this time well) I am glad that for once you put your brain to good use.
Doctor: what? You are so ungrateful, you little brat. Is that what you are supposed to say, you little brat. I won't help you next time since you don't know how to say thank you.
Davis: hey, don't take it to personal, come on. I am thankful and grateful that you did something good this time. Thank you so much buddy. Is that better now?
Doctor: (behaving stubbornly) No, it's not. Apologize again.
Davis: Oh come on, don't be a spoilt child. I already apologized, didn't I? ok, I am sorry again, and thank you for helping me out this time.
Doctor: Is ok bro, what are friends for?
