After a short while they finished eating. "Should we head out then?" suggested Miyu as she put some of the burned bread back inside the plastic bag. "Okay! It's getting kinda late too" Shin said as he stood up. Miyu stood up as well. Both of them removed the snow on their clothes.
After that, both of them started to walk toward the exit of the alleyway. However, a mysterious person seems to be following them. Both Shin and Miyu were unaware of this person's presence. This person continued to follow them toward the exit.
When Shin and Miyu got out of the alleyway and entered the city roads the streets were extremely empty. It was quite normal actually. Because it was so late in the night, all the shops had closed and most people had returned to their homes. Only the young children (Shin and Miyu) could be seen on these empty streets. It was fairly dark. Only the street lights were imitating light other than the crimson-red moon.
Shin and Miyu closely walked together. The city was so quiet that both Shin and Miyu's footsteps echoed loudly throughout the streets. The two children continued to walk regardless. Eventually, they arrived in front of a different alleyway. This one was significantly dark. One could barely see anything. It looked like just stepping in this alleyway would suck you into eternal darkness.
But for some reason, Shin and Miyu weren't afraid at all. If anything they looked like they knew this place very well. They then stepped into the darkness. The alleyway was very rusty. There were many pipelines on each wall of the alleyway, they mostly contained water. Some of them were leaking water. It made the place look even more spookier. A thin layer of cold wind was flowering through the alleyway. Some cats could be seen running around the alleyway.
After walking a bit they arrived in front of a burned building. This building literally looked like it was taken from a horror film. This burned building was two floors high. But there was barely anything left on the second floor. Even the walls of the first floor weren't completely intact. One of the walls was half destroyed. You can see everything inside clearly. Shin and Miyu entered the building through the destroyed wall. As soon as they did they were met by a warm hug. A woman with long dark hair hugged Shin and his Sister warmly. One of her eyes was covered by her long hair. Her clothing was dirty and cheap just like Shins. From her looks, she was around 25 years old. Even though her clothing was cheap her face was that of a noble. She was beautiful like a flower (Fun fact: the name "Kikyo" refers to a Chinese flower called "Platycodon grandiflorus" and the name "Nomiya" (飲屋) has the meaning of "Bar")
"We are home mom!! x2 " Said Shin and Miyu as they hugged their mom back. This person was their mother.
Miyu excitedly handed her mom the plastic bag she was holding in her hands. "I told you two that you didn't have to bring it for me," said the mother with a worried voice. She was aware that her children go and wait under that tree every day to get this food. But she would feel bad whenever they would bring a portion of the food to her. A part of her would feel guilt because she couldn't feed her children enough and that she would get fed by her children instead.
This unsettling feeling would never leave her mind. She would also worry about her children's health condition. Since they were so poor if any of them were to fall ill they wouldn't be able to afford any medical services.
"It's alright," said Miyu with a warm smile. "We already ate our fill" she added.
"I see_" Just as Kikyo said that she noticed the thick and expensive piece of cloth that Shin was wearing. "Where did you get that from" Kikyo said as she grabbed shins shoulders with both of her hands. Her expression was pale. She was extremely worried that if they had stolen this they might have to face serious consciences.
"Tell me the Truth! Where did you get this from" she asked Shin again, her voice sounding a little angry.
"It's not Shin's fault Mom!" Miyu stood up for Shin realizing that her mother wasn't pleased about the stolen clothing. "I stole it from a thief," said Miyu, her voice a bit louder than before. "A thief was running away after stealing this cloth from a man. The thief got caught but I somehow managed to seal this piece of clothing from him"
"Di-did anyone see you," Kikyo said with a hesitant voice as she slowly started to sweat from worry. In this day and age stealing was a very serious crime. Especially if you steal from a rich person. Because if you steal from a rich person It's not the law that will punish you. The rich person could beat you to death and no one would say a word. Because your social status decides whose words are more important. So the consequence of stealing from a rich person terrified Kikyo.
"I am not sure. I just ran without looking," replied Miyu as she slowly looked downwards expecting to get a scolding from her mom. "I don't know if they saw me or not" she added. Just as she was saying that a mysterious man appeared behind them. The man stood in front of the entrance of the destroyed wall. He was wearing a suit and tie. He also had a black hat on his head. They had made it hard to see his face. This person was the person who was following Shin and Miyu. And this person is also the one who got his bag stolen from him by the thief in the park. Meaning, that he is the owner of the clothing that Shin is wearing right now.
