Chapter 32 - Galactic Sheriff Krillin!

Jaco arrived at the mission hall in his personal spacecraft, his expression somewhat anxious.

The various aliens waiting to exchange missions noticed Jaco, a trusted lieutenant of King Galactic, and their curiosity grew.

"A human from Earth registering as a Galactic Warrior? There's no way Jaco would come here in person unless… Could it really be true that he has a battle power of 50,000?" A short alien's face turned pale at the thought, and his legs began to tremble.

The Galactic Patrol wasn't what it had been in ancient times. A battle power above 10,000 marked an elite combatant of the organization, usually assigned to special missions or positioned within the Galactic Guard. Most of the aliens exchanging missions in the hall had battle powers around 1,000. The news of Krillin's 50,000 battle power created a huge commotion.

Jaco was renowned for his sharp eyes, sharper than even Goku's in some respects. From a distance, he immediately spotted Krillin, noting his bald head. Jaco sighed in relief, thinking, At least his hairstyle is different from that Saiyan.

However, remembering Krillin's immense battle power, Jaco tensed up again and hurried over to him.

"You must be Mr. Krillin!" Jaco greeted him respectfully.

Krillin eyed Jaco, whose outfit strongly resembled that of Ultraman, and gave a mysterious smile. "You're Jaco, right? I've seen you on Earth!"

Jaco's relaxed expression instantly tightened, and he shouted, "Impossible!"

Krillin chuckled. "Then I must have been mistaken."

"Of course, it's a mistake," Jaco replied quickly. Then, realizing something, he blurted, "Wait, if you're mistaken, how do you know my name?"

Krillin didn't give him time to think further, deciding to have some fun by scaring him. "Take me to see King Galactic!" Krillin said. Using his energy sense, he realized his earlier caution had been unnecessary. The Galactic Patrol had no truly powerful individuals, making it reasonable for a 50,000 battle power Earthling to warrant a meeting with the king.

Jaco hesitated but nodded.

"Relax, Jaco. I've never actually met you," Krillin teased.

"Alright, follow me," Jaco said reluctantly.

"Shada Hat, wait for me here," Krillin said, turning to him.

"Yes, Mr. Krillin!" Shada Hat responded eagerly, pinning all his hopes on Krillin to help him return to his home planet.

Krillin marveled at the advanced defenses of the Galactic Headquarters, with its numerous space cannons. However, he thought, No matter how advanced, Earth has Z-Fighters, and they're far more valuable than anything here.

"Welcome, visitor from Earth, to the honorable ranks of the Galactic Warriors," came the solemn voice of King Galactic.

"Talk about being shameless. I haven't even registered yet, and I'm already a Galactic Warrior? King Galactic must be eager to recruit me," Krillin thought, silently laughing at the king's transparent intentions.

Walking forward, Krillin greeted the king with feigned respect. Why are the real bosses always pint-sized? he wondered, barely suppressing a chuckle. Keeping a straight face, he said, "Thank you, Your Majesty."

The king scrutinized Krillin and asked seriously, "Why have you chosen to become a Galactic Warrior?"

"Man, even here they have this nonsense," Krillin thought. Adopting a serious tone, he began, "Since childhood, I've grown up hearing stories of the Galactic Warriors. How the wise and heroic King Galactic led them to defeat countless space pirates. From that moment, I dreamed of becoming a Galactic Warrior."

"That's more far-fetched than King Kai's jokes," Krillin mused, glancing at the king's unreadable expression.

Surprisingly, King Galactic seemed very pleased. Hearing such words from a powerhouse like Krillin, with a battle power of 50,000, made the king beam with pride.

"Hahaha!" King Galactic laughed heartily. "Earthling, your choice is undoubtedly correct. The Galactic Patrol is tasked with maintaining peace across the universe!"

"I'll personally register you," King Galactic declared loudly.

The king produced an unfamiliar object resembling a vajra scepter, waved it around theatrically, and chanted strange incantations. Moments later, he handed Krillin a watch-like device. "Done. This is your official equipment."

Krillin took the device, and suddenly, a holographic projection appeared, displaying the following information:

Galactic Warrior: Krillin

Rank: Galactic Sheriff

Missions: None

Points: 10,000

Jaco, standing nearby, couldn't hide his envy. He had worked for years as a slightly specialized Galactic Warrior, yet here was Krillin, instantly promoted to Galactic Sheriff with a hefty starting point balance. Jaco recalled how his mission to Earth had only earned him 1,000 points.

Krillin glanced at the projection and smirked. Sheriff, huh? In the original story, I ended up as a cop anyway. Guess I'm just ahead of schedule. He also had a vague idea of what the points were for but wasn't sure about their purchasing power.

After some "pleasant" conversation with King Galactic, Krillin used the excuse of work to make his escape and returned to the mission hall.

King Galactic, still basking in the glow of Krillin's flattery, would've undoubtedly drawn Krillin's disdain had he witnessed it: "I'm but a humble servant. When it comes to sucking up to the boss, I wrote the book on it."

Back in the mission hall, Krillin's status was now vastly different. The treatment he received reflected the hierarchy of the Galactic Patrol. In the Dragon Ball universe, might made right, and strength dictated one's place in the world.

Shada Hat, who had been waiting anxiously, rushed to Krillin, asking excitedly, "How did it go, sir? Did you make it?"

"Make what?" Krillin replied, feigning ignorance.

"Register as a Galactic Warrior!" Shada Hat pressed.

"Oh, no," Krillin said nonchalantly.

Shada Hat's face filled with disbelief. With Krillin's strength, how could he possibly fail?

"Didn't make it as a warrior, but I did become a sheriff," Krillin said with a smile.

"Really?!" Shada Hat was ecstatic, looking as if he'd been promoted himself.

"Follow me, Shada Hat. Let's check out the mission room," Krillin called back as he walked ahead.

"Yes, sir!" Shada Hat snapped out of his daze and hurried after him.

Browsing the mission room, Krillin noted the variety of assignments. They ranged from E-Level to SSS-Level, scaling in difficulty. Most E-Level missions involved basic exploration or resource extraction, suitable for combatants with around 200 battle power. At the other end of the spectrum, SSS-Level missions included objectives like defeating Frieza or Cooler.

"The Galactic Patrol sure is bold. They really think they can take down Frieza? Ha, gutsy…" Krillin thought, shaking his head at the audacity of it all.
