Chapter 98 - 97

Mark endured the severe pain in his left arm and pulled out the ice sword that was stuck in the ice sculpture monster. The cold air passed through the sword and reached his hand, causing him to tremble slightly. The force of pulling out the sword pulled the wound, and blood oozed out again, staining the bandage red. He took a deep breath, forced himself to ignore the pain, and turned to fight against several large monsters that were rushing towards him.

These monsters were huge and exuded a disgusting stench. Their eyes flashed with bloodthirsty light, and they roared in a low voice, shaking the ground slightly. The dilapidated houses on both sides of the street were shaky under their impact and could collapse at any time. Debris, rubble, and broken wooden beams were scattered all over the ground, and the air was filled with dust and blood, making people feel suffocated.

Mark fought and retreated, leading the monster away from the direction of Lily and Toby. He swung the ice sword, and the sword blade cut through the air, bringing gusts of cold wind. Ice chips flew, flashing a little cold light in the dim sky. He was flexible and moved freely in the ruins, using the terrain to deal with the monsters. Every time he swung his sword, he brought all his strength and will, forcing the monsters to retreat continuously.

Lily treated Toby's wound quickly. She tore off the bandage and carefully cleaned the dirt on the wound. Toby's right hand was bloody and fleshy, and the bone was visible, which shocked Lily. She took a deep breath, suppressed the fear and worry in her heart, took out the healing potion from her backpack, and poured it on Toby's wound. The potion exuded a faint herbal fragrance. The moment it touched the wound, Toby couldn't help but let out a muffled groan.

"Does it hurt?" Lily asked softly, her tone full of concern. She looked up at Toby and found that he was pale, his forehead was covered with sweat, and his lips were trembling slightly.

Toby shook his head, clenched his teeth, and didn't speak. He didn't want to worry Lily.

Lily carefully bandaged Toby's wound with a clean bandage, and then fed him the healing potion. After the medicine was taken, a warm current flowed through Toby's body. He felt his physical strength restored and the pain was relieved a lot. He struggled to stand up, looking firmly in the direction where Mark was fighting.

"Mark is still fighting, I have to help him!" Toby said, his tone full of anxiety. He held the wall and tried to stand up, but his body was still a little weak. He staggered and almost fell.

Lily quickly held Toby down to stop him from standing up. "You are not suitable for fighting now. Take a good rest to recover your strength first!" Her tone was firm and unquestionable. In the ruins, broken beams and rubble were scattered all over the ground, and the air was filled with dust and blood. Several crows circled in the air, making shrill cries, adding a touch of gloomy and terrifying atmosphere to the ruins.

Toby looked at Lily's anxious eyes and finally nodded. He knew that Lily was right. His current situation was indeed not suitable for fighting and would only become a burden to Mark.

Lily drew out her dagger and observed the surrounding situation vigilantly, ready to support Mark at any time. Her eyes were sharp and full of vigilance, like a cheetah ready to attack. The wind blew through the ruins, making a humming sound, rolling up the dust and fallen leaves on the ground and flying in the air.

Feeling that Toby and Lily did not follow, Mark felt relieved. He knew that only by ensuring their safety could he let go. He took a deep breath and mobilized the magic power of his whole body. Several ice blades condensed in front of him, emitting a biting cold. The temperature around him dropped sharply, and the water stains on the ground instantly froze into ice, making a crackling sound. Several leaves blown down by the wind fell on the ice blades, and were instantly frozen and became extremely fragile.

Mark's eyes were stern, and he shot the ice blade at the largest monster. The ice blade cut through the air, making a sharp whistling sound, and with a biting cold, it shot at the monster like a meteor. The monster was unable to dodge and was hit by the ice blade. It let out a painful roar, and its huge body staggered back, temporarily blocking the attack of the monster group.

Mark took this opportunity to look back in the direction of Toby and Lily. Seeing them hiding safely behind the ruins, he felt relieved and rushed towards the monsters again, swinging his sword. The ice sword in his hand was like a dragon, flying up and down, and every swing brought a sharp chill, forcing the monsters back. He was agile and shuttled freely between the monsters, and every attack was accurate and deadly.

"I'll help you!" A crisp shout came.

Mark turned his head and saw a paladin captain wearing silver armor, coming with several paladins to support.

"Thank you!" Mark said.

The paladins joined the battle and the situation was reversed in an instant.

"Cover me!" Mark shouted.

The paladin captain immediately commanded other paladins to cover Mark. Mark took the opportunity to condense a larger ice ball and smashed it hard at the monsters.

"Boom!"

After a loud bang, the monsters were blown to pieces.

"It's over." Mark looked at the corpse of the monster lying on the ground, breathed a sigh of relief, turned around and ran towards the ruins where Toby and Lily were hiding, his steps slightly staggering. Seeing this, the captain of the Paladins winked at a Paladin. The Paladin immediately understood, quickly followed Mark, and protected him behind him without leaving a trace.

Beside the ruins, Lily helped Toby stand up slowly. Toby's face was pale, his lips were chapped, and fine beads of sweat oozed from his forehead. He took a deep breath and tried to calm the surging blood in his body.

Mark ran to them and asked with concern: "Toby, how are you?"

Toby forced a smile and shook his head, "Fortunately, I'm just a little weak." He stretched out his hand to wipe the sweat from his forehead, but it moved the wound and he couldn't help but frowned slightly.

Seeing this, Lily quickly took out a clean cloth from her waist and gently wiped it for him, "Don't move, be careful of the wound to split." Her tone was gentle and firm, with a hint of imperceptible worry.

Mark's eyes fell on Toby's wound. The bandage was soaked with blood and was bright red. His heart tightened and he turned to look at the Paladin behind him, "Can you please help him treat his wound again?" The Paladin nodded and took out healing medicine and clean bandages from his bag, "Of course." He skillfully rebandaged Toby's wound and handed him a small bottle of potion, "This is a potion that can quickly restore physical strength."
