Mark slowly opened his eyes, and the power surging in his body made him feel stronger than ever before. He clenched his fists, and his knuckles made a slight crackling sound, as if they contained endless energy. He looked down at his hands, and there was a faint light flowing under his skin, like a burning flame.
He looked up at the Ice Abyss Beast and found that it was looking at him with concern, and there was a worrying light flashing in its green eyes. It scratched the ground with its claws uncomfortably, making a low whimper, as if asking about Mark's situation.
Mark stood up and walked to the stone platform. The ancient utensils on the stone platform still exuded a soft light, like the twinkling stars in the night sky. He reached out and touched one of the utensils. As soon as his fingertips touched the surface of the vessel, the light on the vessel dimmed, and some ancient words emerged instead.
"What is this?" Mark whispered to himself, staring at the words closely. He carefully identified them and found that these words were not in any language he was familiar with, but he could strangely understand the meaning of them.
These words record how to control this powerful energy, as well as the skills of ancient humans fighting against the black-robed man. The strokes of the words are simple and vigorous, as if they contain ancient wisdom and power. Mark reads word by word, as if he travels through time and space and returns to the era full of war and gunpowder.
"So that's it..." Mark whispered to himself, with a flash of enlightenment in his eyes. He tried to mobilize the energy in his body according to the instructions of the text.
He took a deep breath and slowly raised his right hand with his palm facing up. As he thought, a powerful energy gushed out from his palm, like a dazzling beam of light, smashing a vessel on the stone platform. The broken pieces of the vessel scattered all over the ground, making a crisp sound, echoing in the empty hall.
The Ice Abyss Beast was startled by the sudden energy fluctuation. It stepped back a few steps, let out a low roar, and its body trembled slightly, with fear in its green eyes. The air in the cave seemed to become heavy because of this powerful energy, and a trace of energy fluctuation visible to the naked eye rippled in the air.
Mark was also shocked by the power of this force, and he realized the danger of this power. He took a deep breath, tried to control the energy in his body, and slowly took the energy back into his body. His breathing gradually stabilized, and his heartbeat gradually returned to normal.
He looked at the Ice Abyss Beast again, his eyes full of determination. He knew that he must learn to control this power in order to protect himself and the Ice Abyss Beast, to fight against the Rebirth Organization, to avenge the ancient humans, to rescue the controlled Ice Abyss Beast, and to shoulder the responsibility of protecting this world.
"I will protect you." Mark walked to the side of the Ice Abyss Beast and stroked its head, his tone gentle and firm. The Ice Abyss Beast rubbed Mark's hand with its head and let out a low whimper, as if it felt Mark's determination. There was no more fear in its green eyes, but trust and dependence instead.
Mark stood up and looked at the exit of the hall with a firm gaze. He walked towards the Ice Abyss Beast, and the man and the beast left this mysterious hall side by side to find the traces of the Rebirth Organization. Their figures gradually disappeared in the darkness, leaving only the empty hall and broken utensils, silently telling the secrets of the ancient times.
In the hall, the broken pieces of utensils were scattered all over the ground, reflecting a little light in the weak light, like stars in the night sky. The remaining utensils on the stone platform still emit a soft light, as if waiting for the arrival of the next successor. The stalactites on the top of the cave hang down quietly, like an upside-down sword, guarding this mysterious space. The air is filled with an ancient and mysterious atmosphere, as if telling an ancient story.
Mark and Bingyuan Beast walked out of the hall and entered a long and narrow passage. The walls on both sides of the passage were engraved with ancient runes, which emitted a faint fluorescence, illuminating the road ahead. The passage was silent, with only the footsteps of Mark and Bingyuan Beast echoing.
"Let's go." Mark said with a firm tone.
"Woo..." Bingyuan Beast responded and followed closely behind Mark. The figures of one man and one beast disappeared at the end of the passage, leaving only the empty passage and the flickering runes, continuing to sleep in the long river of time.
They walked forward along the passage, and finally came to the end of the passage after walking for an unknown period of time. At the end was a huge stone door, which was engraved with complex runes and emitted a faint golden light.
Mark reached out and touched the runes on the stone door. The runes made a slight humming sound, and the stone door slowly opened, revealing a dazzling light, which temporarily made Mark unable to open his eyes.
"Are you ready?" Mark tilted his head to look at the Ice Abyss Beast, with a hint of excitement in his eyes.
"Woo!" The Ice Abyss Beast roared, indicating that it was ready.
Mark took the lead in stepping out of the stone door, and the Ice Abyss Beast followed closely.
"Let's go!"
Mark walked out of the stone door, the strong light faded, and the view in front of him suddenly became clear. This is a vast snowfield, and the sun shines on the snow, reflecting a dazzling light. The biting cold wind whistled past, rolling up the snow on the ground, forming a vortex of snow fog. In the distance, the rolling snow-capped mountains stood tall and straight into the sky.
He squinted his eyes and adjusted to the strong light and wind and snow in the snowfield. "Are we back to the Arctic?" He murmured to himself, reaching out to feel the oncoming cold wind, and the piercing cold came from his fingertips.
"Woo..." The Ice Abyss Beast walked to Mark's side, blocked part of the wind and snow with its huge body, and let out a low roar, as if responding to Mark's words. It shook its thick fur, and some snow slid off its body.
Mark turned his head to look at the Ice Abyss Beast, smiled, and reached out to pat its head. "Thank you, old friend." He retracted his hand, rubbed his hands that were a little red from the cold, and exhaled a breath of white air. "We have to find a place to avoid the wind and snow first, and then go to the temple to take back the third energy fragment."
He looked around and his eyes fell on a mountain not far away. There seemed to be a cave at the foot of the mountain, which could serve as a temporary shelter. "Let's go over there and take a look." Mark pointed in the direction of the mountain and said to the Ice Abyss Beast.
The Ice Abyss Beast nodded, and there was a hint of determination in its eyes, as if telling Mark that no matter how difficult the road ahead was, it would be by his side.
Mark took a deep breath, took a step, and walked towards the cave at the foot of the mountain. Every step was heavy and firm, and he left deep footprints on the snow. The Ice Abyss Beast followed closely behind, and its claws left traces on the snow, as if recording their journey.
As they gradually approached the mountain, the outline of the cave became clearer and clearer. The entrance of the cave was half-covered by the snow, but it was still large enough for them to enter. Mark walked to the front of the cave, and used his hands to push away the snow, revealing a passage large enough for one person and one beast to pass through.
"Let's go in." Mark said to the Ice Abyss Beast, then bent down and went into the cave.
The inside of the cave was much warmer than the outside, but also darker. Mark's eyes adjusted for a while before he could see the situation inside the cave clearly. The cave was spacious, with some icicles hanging from the top and some gravel and ice chips scattered on the ground.
Mark found a relatively dry place and sat down to rest. The Ice Abyss Beast patrolled the cave to make sure there was no danger.
"We need a plan." Mark muttered to himself. He took out the slate from the stone platform from his arms. The runes on the slate still emitted a faint fluorescence under the weak light.
He carefully studied the runes on the slate, trying to understand the secrets. These runes seemed to be an ancient language, recording the wisdom and power of ancient humans. Mark knew that these runes were the key to his fight against the Rebirth Organization.
"We need to find the weakness of the Rebirth Organization." Mark said to the Ice Abyss Beast, his voice echoing in the cave. "We need to find a way to break their control over the Ice Abyss Beast. I just don't know if my telepathy will work on other Ice Abyss Beasts?"
The Ice Abyss Beast walked to Mark and rubbed his hand with his head, as if giving him strength. Mark felt a warm power coming from the Ice Abyss Beast, and his heart was full of gratitude.
"You're right, we can't give up." Mark stood up, his eyes flashing with determination.
"I need to awaken the reason of more Ice Abyss beasts and fight side by side. Do you know where the other Ice Abyss beasts are?" Mark stroked the Ice Abyss beast.
"Woo..." The Ice Abyss beast made a sad cry, and Mark understood that except for this Ice Abyss beast, the other Ice Abyss beasts were still kept in captivity by the Rebirth Organization.
Time passed slowly as they prepared, and the wind and snow outside gradually subsided.
