Chapter 40 - 39

Mark looked around and found himself in a huge cave. There were several huge stone pillars on the edge of the cave, each of which was engraved with complex patterns. These patterns were faintly visible in the weak light, and seemed to contain some kind of ancient power. He could feel waves of energy fluctuations, although weak, but extremely clear, as if these stone pillars were portals to another world.

The dome was very high, and crystals were dotted on it like stars, emitting soft light, reflecting the entire space like daylight. The ground was as smooth as a mirror, reflecting the scene of the dome. There was a faint energy fluctuation in the air, which made Mark feel relaxed and happy.

He approached a stone pillar cautiously and reached out to touch the pattern engraved on the stone pillar. The pattern was uneven and cold to the touch. A strange energy flowed into his body along his fingertips, making him feel numb, as if all the cells in his body were activated. This energy was not violent, but extremely gentle, nourishing his body like a trickle.

The Ice Abyss Beast sniffed the ground and let out a low roar, as if it had sensed something. It walked to the center of the space, lowered its head and sniffed a circular pattern on the ground with its nose. In the center of the pattern was a gem that emitted dazzling light, and the patterns around the gem were complicated and mysterious, as if they contained some ancient mystery. The Ice Abyss Beast's nose paused above the gem, then it raised its head and let out a long low roar, with a hint of excitement and a hint of uneasiness in its voice.

Suddenly, the circular pattern on the ground lit up, the light of the gem became stronger, and the whole space began to vibrate. The crystals on the dome flickered more frequently, and the light became more dazzling, and the whole space seemed to have turned into a huge ball of light. The pattern on the ground emitted rays of light, connecting to the surrounding stone pillars, and the patterns on the stone pillars also lit up, and the energy fluctuations in the whole space became more intense.

Mark quickly retracted his hand and stepped back, his heart full of shock and a hint of uneasiness. This sudden change caught him off guard, and he didn't know what would happen next. The Ice Abyss Beast also raised his head and watched the changes around him vigilantly. Its eyes flashed green, and its body was tense, ready to deal with possible dangers at any time. It let out a low roar, with a hint of warning and a hint of fear in its voice.

The crystal on the dome began to flicker, emitting a dazzling light, and a vortex appeared in the center of the space. The vortex slowly rotated, and the center emitted a strong suction force, and the surrounding air was sucked into it. The patterns on the ground and the patterns on the stone pillars glowed brightly, as if providing energy for the vortex.

Mark felt a strong suction pulling him to the center of the vortex, and he tried to stabilize his body, but to no avail. His body involuntarily floated towards the vortex, and the speed was getting faster and faster. The Ice Abyss Beast was also affected by the vortex, and its body began to move towards the center of the vortex. It let out a terrified roar, trying to break free from the suction, but it could not resist this powerful force.

The suction of the vortex became stronger and stronger, and Mark and the Ice Abyss Beast were sucked into the center of the vortex. At the moment of being sucked into the vortex, Mark felt a dizziness, his eyes were blurred, and he lost consciousness.

"Catch me!" Mark felt himself falling rapidly, with the wind whistling in his ears.

"Roar!" The Ice Abyss beast responded, stretching out its claws to grab the corner of Mark's clothes.

Mark felt a tug, and the downward trend slowed down a little. He tried to open his eyes, and found that he was hanging in the air with the Ice Abyss beast's claws hooking the corner of his clothes. Below was the bottomless darkness, and nothing could be seen clearly. Above, the vortex had disappeared, replaced by a strange starry sky, with stars flashing cold light.

"Thank you, thank you..." Mark's voice trembled a little because of fear. He looked down at the Ice Abyss beast holding his clothes. This giant beast was like his life-saving straw at the moment.

The Ice Abyss beast let out a low roar, as if responding to Mark's thanks. It adjusted its posture and held its claws tighter to ensure Mark's safety.

Mark noticed that the Ice Abyss beast's claws were deeply embedded in his clothes, almost tearing the fabric. This made him even more afraid to move, for fear that he would fall.

It was quiet all around, with only the sound of the wind whistling in his ears. Mark tried to calm himself down and observe the surrounding environment. He found that they seemed to be in a huge cave, with stars twinkling on the top of the cave, like the night sky. The cave wall was as smooth as a mirror, reflecting the starlight, making the whole cave seem more mysterious.

"Where is this...?" Mark muttered to himself, and his voice echoed in the empty cave. He turned his head and looked up, trying to find some clues, but he only saw a deep starry sky.

The Ice Abyss Beast let out a low roar, and seemed to be confused. It loosened one claw and scratched the cave wall lightly a few times, making a harsh sound. There were a few shallow scratches on the cave wall, but there was no change other than that.

"It seems that we have been teleported to a strange place." Mark took a deep breath and forced himself to accept this reality.

He looked down, and the bottomless darkness made him feel a sense of fear. "We have to find a way to get up."

The Ice Abyss Beast seemed to understand Mark's words. It let out a low roar and began to climb up along the cave wall. Its claws were extremely sharp, and it easily grabbed the protrusions on the cave wall and moved steadily upward.

Mark held the Ice Abyss Beast's hair tightly and followed it up and down. He didn't dare to look down, for fear that he would let go because of fear.

Occasionally, gravel would fall from the cave wall, making a subtle sound, which was particularly clear in the silent cave.

The climbing process was long and arduous, and Mark felt that his arms were numb.

He looked up and still couldn't see the top of the cave, which made him a little desperate. "How long will it take to reach the top?" Mark asked in a low voice, with a hint of fatigue in his voice.

The Ice Abyss Beast did not answer, but continued to climb up. Its movements were still steady, and it didn't seem to feel tired.

The cave was still silent, with only the sound of the Ice Abyss Beast's claws scratching the cave wall and Mark's heavy breathing.

After an unknown amount of time, Mark finally saw a ray of light. He was refreshed, knowing that they were about to reach the top of the cave. The Ice Abyss Beast also sped up a bit, as if it also sensed hope.
