Chapter 20 - 20

At this moment, the monster attacked again. Its huge wings flapped violently, stirring up a gust of wind, and ice and snow were rolled up to form a white storm. Mark and Carl barely managed to stand firm. They knew that they had to take advantage of this opportunity.

"Carl, I need you to distract its attention. I will try to find its weakness." Mark's voice was firm.

Carl nodded, and he quickly rushed towards the monster. The survival knife in his hand turned into a cold light and went straight to the monster's head. The monster roared, and its wings flapped violently, trying to knock Carl away. Carl dodged flexibly, and his figure looked particularly agile in the wind and snow.

Mark took the opportunity to observe the monster. He noticed that there was a scale at the base of the monster's wings that seemed smaller than the others. It might be its weakness. He took a deep breath, concentrated his mind, and gathered his strength in his hands.

"Carl, the base of its wings!" Mark shouted loudly.

Carl heard Mark's shout, and a gleam of light flashed in his eyes. He knew that this was their only chance. He quickly changed the direction of attack, and the survival knife in his hand went straight to the root of the monster's wings.

The monster seemed to be aware of the danger. It let out a deafening roar and tried to knock Carl away with its wings. But Carl was faster, and his blade accurately pierced the weak point at the root of the monster's wings.

The monster screamed in pain, and its wings flapped violently, knocking Carl away. Carl's body rolled several times in the air and fell heavily on the ice, with a trace of blood flowing from the corner of his mouth.

Seeing this, Mark was furious. He gathered his strength in his hands, and a dazzling beam of energy shot out from his palm, hitting the root of the monster's wings. The monster screamed, its wings began to bleed, and its body lost balance and fell heavily on the ice.

Mark quickly ran to Carl and helped him up. "Carl, are you okay?"

Carl wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, with a trace of pain in his eyes, but more determination. "I'm fine, Mark. We have to leave here now."

Mark nodded, and they quickly left the ice field and ran towards the iceberg in the distance. They knew that the people of the Rebirth Organization might catch up at any time, and they had to find a safe place as soon as possible.

They crossed the ice field and came to the foot of the iceberg. The iceberg was steep and covered with ice and snow, but Mark and Carl did not give up. They began to climb the iceberg, and every step seemed extremely difficult.

Mark felt the power in his body gradually weakened, and his breathing became rapid. But he couldn't give up, he had to hold on. He took a deep breath, concentrated his mind, gathered his strength in his hands, and continued to climb.

Carl followed closely behind, with a hint of worry in his eyes. He knew that Mark's strength might run out at any time, and they had to find a safe place as soon as possible.

They finally reached the halfway point of the iceberg, where there was a natural ice cave that could provide them with temporary shelter. Mark and Carl quickly entered the ice cave, knowing that they needed to rest and recover their strength.

The ice cave was warm and dry. They lit a fire, and the flames flickered in the ice cave, bringing them a little warmth. Mark sat by the fire, his hands emitting a faint blue light, and he could feel the power in his body gradually recovering.

Carl sat opposite him, his eyes revealing a hint of complex emotions. "Mark, your power is strong, but you still need to learn how to control it."

Mark nodded, he knew Carl was right. He took a deep breath, concentrated again, and felt the power in his body. He directed this power to his hands and then slowly released it. A weak beam of energy shot out from his palm and hit the wall of the ice cave, leaving a shallow mark.

"Good, Mark." Carl's voice echoed in the ice cave, "Now, let's try some more complicated techniques."
