Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Betrayal and a New Beginning

Years passed, and Jin Mo's name became one spoken with awe and fear. The boy who had once been powerless now stood as one of humanity's strongest protectors. With the powers granted by the God of Death, Yama, Jin Mo rose to prominence as one of the Seven Superheroes tasked with defending the Earth against the cataclysmic monsters that emerged from the gates.

The Seven Superheroes, each chosen by a god and granted extraordinary powers, stood as humanity's last hope:

Jin Mo – Apostle of Yama, the God of Death.

Wielded necromantic powers to control skeletons and the dead, striking terror into the hearts of enemies.

1. Caleb Ignar – Apostle of Ignes, the God of Fire.

Manipulated fire to unleash molten devastation on the battlefield.

2. Selene Nocturne – Apostle of Khaos, the God of Chaos.

Controlled minds and emotions, sowing confusion and discord among foes.

3. Leonidas Korr – Apostle of Ares, the God of War.

An unparalleled warrior with strength and skill unmatched in combat.

4. Alastair Tempus – Apostle of Chronos, the God of Time.

Manipulated time, bending it to his will to gain an edge in battle.

5. Kara Silvershade – Apostle of Athenae, the Goddess of Wisdom.

A strategic mastermind with abilities that influenced minds and altered outcomes.

6. Lucian Gale – Apostle of Zephyr, the God of Wind.

A rogue who controlled storms and winds, striking swiftly and unpredictably.

Together, the Seven Superheroes faced countless battles. Their victories were legend, their teamwork a force unstoppable.

But the final battle was different.

The gates had reached their peak, and with them came the Demon King, the source of the cataclysm. His armies of monstrous creatures flooded the Earth, threatening to annihilate everything in their path.

The Seven united for one last stand.

"Hold the line!" Leonidas roared, his sword cutting through waves of demons.

Flames erupted around Caleb as he incinerated dozens of enemies, his laughter wild and unrestrained. "Is that all you've got?!"

Jin Mo stood at the front, commanding an army of skeletons that tore through the Demon King's forces like a tidal wave of death. His cold eyes never wavered, even as the blood of his enemies drenched the ground beneath him.

Finally, the Demon King emerged—a towering, grotesque figure radiating malice. His voice boomed, shaking the earth. "You mortals dare challenge me?!"

The battle was fierce, and the world seemed to teeter on the brink of destruction. But with his unyielding determination and the powers of death at his command, Jin Mo delivered the final blow.

The Demon King let out a deafening roar as Jin Mo's blade pierced his heart. His massive body crumbled to ash, and silence fell over the battlefield.

It was over.

Or so Jin Mo thought.

He turned to his comrades, a faint smile on his face. "We did it... It's finally over."

But their expressions weren't ones of relief.

They were cold.

Unforgiving.

Before Jin Mo could react, pain exploded in his chest. He staggered, looking down to see a blade piercing through his body. The hand holding the weapon trembled, but the betrayal in their eyes was clear.

Kara's voice broke the silence. "You're too dangerous, Jin Mo. The gods ordered us to do this."

"Your power… It's too much," Leonidas said, his voice steady.

Jin Mo's knees buckled, and he fell to the ground, coughing up blood. His vision blurred as he looked at them—his friends, his comrades.

"Why?" he whispered, his voice filled with anguish. "Why would you do this?"

Selene's cold gaze met his. "Because we feared you. You're stronger than all of us combined. The gods couldn't risk you turning on them."

His heart shattered as he looked at the faces of the people he had fought alongside, trusted with his life.

Pain spread through his body as the world around him dimmed. He wanted to scream, to curse them, but his strength was gone.

Above him, Yama's voice roared, filled with fury. "This is an injustice! You dare defy me?! He was my chosen one!"

But divine laws and causality bound even gods. Yama's rage was powerless against the betrayal of the others. All he could do was watch as his apostle's life slipped away.

Jin Mo's vision darkened, his breath slowing. His final thought was of Yoon Ha.

"I'm sorry..."

Then, everything went black.

Jin Mo drifted in a void, an endless abyss that stretched on for eternity. There was no sound, no light—just the crushing weight of emptiness.

And then…

"Jin Mo... Jin Mo..."

The voice was faint, distant, but it called to him, pulling him from the darkness.

He opened his eyes.

But the world was different.

His body felt small, fragile. His limbs were weak, unsteady. As his senses returned, he realized he was lying in a crib, his tiny hands trembling as he reached out.

Voices surrounded him, unfamiliar faces leaning over him. They were smiling, their words filled with warmth.

Jin Mo's heart raced as the realization struck him. He had been reborn.

He was a baby—a newborn in a world entirely unfamiliar.

His cries filled the room, his small body trembling with confusion and fear. The memories of his past life lingered, the pain of betrayal still fresh in his heart.

But as the warmth of the new world enveloped him, a thought emerged through the haze:

This was a new beginning. A second chance.

Jin Mo's journey had only just begun.
