Braun's POV
Deciding to flee the scene for now I gracefully glide above the major expanse.
Beautiful
I can finally live a life that thrills and excites me. Although I have no idea how I ended up here that doesn't matter for now.
The only disadvantage I'm at is how little I know of this world. If only I had read Tales Of Esmeraldia earlier then maybe...
No.
Now's not the time to be crying over wasted time, right now I have to meditate on what I do know about this world.
For starters, what made me want to read the manhwa in the first place was some spoilers on a reddit forum. I remember said spoilers pretty vividly so that's a start.
With a location in mind, I speed through the skies and past Jasmine city, making a beeline for the city of Pazalia.
Emma's POV
Tsch, these damned idiots...
I let out a sigh as I watch two customers bicker and argue for like the third time this freakin week.
"Say that to me again, I dare you!"
"Does your sorry arse ever get jealous of the crap that comes out your mouth!!"
"Alright, you asked for it baldy!"
As one of the men land a jab at the other, I let out a frustrated groan.
Can't I just live one normal day without the bane of existence known as human beings?
The people seated around the two men begin to cheer and rile em up as a fight ensues.
"You two morons seriously know how to get under my skin." I hiss as I walk past the crowd and towards them.
"Stay out of this you little b--"
Before the bald man can finish his sentence I send him flying out of the bar with one kick as the crowd immediately goes silent.
"Hey, I had him--"
The sound of the other man's nose breaking rings out as I land a powerful jab, sending him staggering out the doors and falling flat on his backside.
"If you two don't plan on behaving like civilized human beings then stay the hell out!" I exclaim before storming back inside as the crowd stare and murmur.
I walk past the counter and out the back door intending to get some air and cool down.
Damned fools ruining my day.
I run my hand through my blonde hair as I let out an agitated huff.
"Emma, we need to talk." James my father figure says sternly, as he walks towards me.
"James, come on they deserved it." I practically whine, already knowing what he's here to talk about.
"Emma how many times do I have to tell you we don't assault our customers." He reminds me, his big hulking figure stopping right in front of me.
"But they were--"
"--No "buts", look Emma, customers can be jerks at times but that doesn't mean you have have to attack them!"
I sigh and avoid James' gaze whilst crossing my arms.
"Just my freaking luck." I huff with my arms folded as James raises a brow.
"Language."
"Come on I didn't even cuss!" I retort causing James to sigh and pinch the bridge of his nose.
"Look, business is already hard as is with the town bandits wreaking havoc and causing trouble, so I don't need you adding to my problems by hitting our customers."
My eyes slightly narrow in remorse as I let out a sigh of resignation.
"Sorry." I mumble out as James facial expression softens.
"You're a very talented fighter Emma, don't waste your skills on--"
James is cut off by a loud crash nearby as our eyes raise in surprise. Without hesitating, I rush to the newly formed crater to find a dark skinned man with curly black hair.
"Good grief, I really need to work on my landing don't I?" The man says sounding more amused than frustrated before he looks up to me.
"Hey there" He greets me cheerfully with a wave whilst my eyes immediately dart down to his exposed body, the only clothing he has being remnants of his seemingly burnt pants.
My cheeks flush as I let out a groan of annoyance before James arrives besides me.
Braun's POV
I cheerfully wave at the blonde girl with brown cat ears.
Interesting...
So she has animal attributes I see, I wonder what other races or hybrids exist in this world.
"A-are you okay!?" A buff man with brown hair asks me as he stands beside the blonde girl.
"Yep, despite the landing being a bit rough, I'm okay sir." I respond with a smile as the hulk of a man notices my exposed body.
"Here take this." He says as he removes his blue cotten jacket and hands it to me with a curious but confused gaze.
Fortunately for me, his jacket is huge enough to wrap around my whole body and even looks baggy.
When I wear it, it looks more like a coat.
I'm quickly invited inside what seems to be their bar before the blonde lady hands me a warm cup of coffee all the while they both eye me skeptically.
"So, how did you get here, you seemed as if you were....flying." She asks before I chuckle and take a sip of the drink.
"Yes I was flying." I confirm with a smile before the muscular man's eyes widen as he takes a sit in front of me.
"I-I'm James" He introduces himself before motioning to the blonde lady with cat ears "This is Emma."
I nod my head in response, taking a liking to their names.
"I'm Braun, Braun Astern."
"So Braun...you flew from wherever you came from?" James inquires in disbelief.
"Only people with enough mana skill are able to do that so I'm guessing you're quite capable." He continues.
"I guess so too, I'm still getting the hang of it." I reply before drinking the rest of my coffee in one go.
"You say that like you're a beginner, but by the looks of it, that doesn't seem to be the case." Emma chimes in, her brows raised in skepticism.
"Well, it's actually quite a long story." I admit, intriguing the two even further.
"We'd be open to hear this story of yours--"
James is cut off as rhe entrance doors immediately swing open, catching all of our attention.
"Business up and running as usual ain't it James?" A massive bald man asks with a smug smirk as two other men behind him follow suit.
"These damned local bandits." Emma hisses under her breath, her eyes narrowing furiously.
Local bandits she says...
"Gentleman, let's settle this outside." James states before walking over to the bandit leader.
"I don't think I want to." The massive bandit says before his two lackeys wreak havoc in the bar by flipping tables, and destroying wine bottles.
The people and customers inside immediately run away and flee, leaving only the six of us inside.
Emma immediately motions to walk over angrily, but James raises a hand in the air, signalling for her to stay put.
"We want our tribute!" The bandit exclaims as James visibly struggles to contain his rage.
The sound of a mighty punch rings out as James flies into the back of the bar, crashing into the brick wall with a major thud.
Well that was fast.
"James!" Emma screams before rushing over and glaring at the bandits.
"Don't look at us like that cat girl, you nor James are strong enough to do jack!" The bandit leader states smugly before my sudden laughter echoes across the bar.
Hah, these idiots are hilarious
"What's so funny boy." The bandit leader asks angrily whilst walking over to me.
"You think what you posses is real power, you would make a great comedian you know." I respond chuckling as I stand from the table.
"Do you have a death wish, in fact I'll end you right here!!!"
The bandit immediately swings his fist forward which collides with my face as bones audibly break.
"GRAAAAAAHHH!!!" The bandit screams as his fist shatters from his attempted punch.
Tsk tsk
"You stormed into this place and caused trouble for people who've been nothing but kind to me, so tell me ....how do you want to die " I inquire with a crazed smirk as Emma and James gaze at me, their mad hero.
"You're absolutely nuts!" One of the lackey says afraid before trying to escape, however my dark blue aura closes off every entrance and exit whilst blue lightning crackles from my body.
My face falls, as my voice and facial features darken.
"There is no escape for you."My deep voice announces as the bandits tremble and cower in fear.
How exciting...
