Chapter 76 - Chapter 76: A Question that Changes Everything

As Julian's eyes locked on mine, I could see the sincerity and nervousness in them. He took a deep breath, and I could sense that he was about to ask me something that would change everything.

"Sofia, from the moment I met you, I knew that you were someone special," Julian said, his voice trembling with emotion. "I love the way you make me laugh, the way you challenge me to be my best self, and the way you always know how to make me feel better when I'm down."

I felt my heart swell with emotion as Julian spoke, his words touching a deep chord within me.

"Sofia, I want to spend the rest of my life making you happy," Julian said, his eyes shining with tears. "Will you marry me?"

I was taken aback by the question, my mind reeling with shock and uncertainty. I looked at Julian, searching for answers, but his face was a mask of hope and expectation.

"I...I don't know," I stuttered, feeling like I was torn in two. "Julian, I care about you deeply, but I'm not sure if I'm ready for marriage."

Julian's face fell, but he quickly recovered. "I understand," he said, his voice filled with disappointment. "I just wanted to take a chance and ask."

I felt a pang of guilt for hurting Julian's feelings, but I knew I had to be honest with myself and with him.

"Julian, I need time to think," I said, trying to soften the blow. "Can we talk about this later?"

Julian nodded, his eyes still shining with hope. "Of course," he said. "I'll give you all the time you need."

As we parted ways, I couldn't help but feel a sense of uncertainty. Had I just made a huge mistake by rejecting Julian's proposal?

Over the next few days, Julian gave me space, respecting my wishes as I grappled with my feelings. But I could sense that he was still holding out hope, still believing that I would eventually say yes.

Little did I know, Julian had a plan to prove his love and commitment to me, a plan that would change everything.

As the days went by, I couldn't shake off the feeling that I had made a mistake by rejecting Julian's proposal. I kept thinking about the look on his face, the disappointment and hurt in his eyes.

I tried to focus on my work and my daily routine, but my mind kept wandering back to Julian. I wondered if he was okay, if he was still thinking about me.

One day, as I was walking home from work, I saw Julian standing outside my apartment building. He was leaning against the wall, looking handsome and relaxed.

"Sofia," he said, smiling at me. "I was hoping to run into you."

I felt a flutter in my chest as I looked at him. "Julian, what are you doing here?" I asked, trying to sound casual.

"I wanted to talk to you," he said, pushing off the wall and walking towards me. "I know you said you needed time to think, but I couldn't wait any longer."

I felt a sense of trepidation as Julian approached me. What was he going to say?

"I know I scared you with my proposal," Julian said, his eyes locked on mine. "But I want you to know that I'm not giving up on us. I believe that we have something special, something worth fighting for."

I felt a lump form in my throat as I looked at Julian. He was so sincere, so passionate.

"What do you want me to do?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

"I want you to give me a chance," Julian said, his eyes shining with hope. "I want you to let me prove my love to you."

I felt a sense of uncertainty as I looked at Julian. Could I really trust him?

But as I looked into his eyes, I saw something there that gave me pause. I saw a spark of sincerity, a spark of love.

"Okay," I said finally, my voice firm. "I'll give you a chance."

Julian's face lit up with joy, and he swept me into his arms. "Thank you, Sofia," he whispered, his lips brushing against my ear. "I promise you won't regret it."

As we hugged, I felt a sense of excitement and trepidation. What was I getting myself into?

Over the next few weeks, Julian and I spent every spare moment together. We went on romantic dates, had deep conversations, and explored the city.

Julian was charming and attentive, always making sure that I was happy and comfortable. He was also passionate and romantic, always surprising me with small gifts and gestures.

As I got to know Julian better, I realized that he was everything I had been looking for
