Chapter 2 - A Big Human and a Small Tail

Hiroshi was still confused about what was happening. If this cat person, Riku, was his only guide in this strange world, he decided to ask questions to learn more.

"Hey, is that tail real?" Hiroshi asked, noticing Riku's fluffy tail moving behind him.

Before Riku could answer, Hiroshi reached out to touch it.

"Eeepp!" Riku squeaked, spinning around. His high-pitched voice shocked Henry. If Riku hadn't said he was a boy, Hiroshi would have thought he was a girl. Everything about Riku, from his soft voice to his delicate features, seemed feminine.

Riku flattened his ears and narrowed his golden eyes. "Hissss~! Don't touch my tail!"

"Hmm? Why not?" Hiroshi asked, raising an eyebrow.

"It's sensitive!" Riku pouted, hugging his tail protectively.

"Yeah, yeah… whatever," Hiroshi said, ignoring Riku's annoyance.

Riku's ears perked up. "Henry… where are you going?"

"Huh? Like I know, girl." Hiroshi shrugged and took some steps forward, looking for signs of people or something familiar.

"Riku is not a girl!" Riku protested, stomping his foot. His tail fluffed up in frustration.

"Yeah, yeah," Hiroshi replied, leaning down to look at Riku closely. He squinted at Riku's face, and Riku froze under his stare.

Seriously? Riku's not a girl? Hiroshi thought, noticing Riku's soft lips, slender neck, and delicate body. With a face like that?

"Ne ne, Henry!" Riku suddenly said, breaking the silence.

"Hm?"

"You're really big!" Riku looked up at him with wide eyes.

Hiroshi smirked. "Yeah, I hear that a lot."

"If only I had muscles like you," Riku sighed, trying to flex his arms like Henry.

Before Hiroshi could answer, the ground shook beneath them.

Riku tensed, his ears standing up, and his tail froze. "H-Henry…"

"Huh?" Hiroshi frowned.

Before he could ask what was happening, a huge boar rushed out of the bushes, charging at them. This beast looked different from anything Hiroshi had seen—its tusks were longer than his forearm, and its eyes looked hungry and fierce.

"Whoa! Easy there, big guy!" Henry said instinctively as the boar ran at him.

Suddenly, Hiroshi 's body moved on its own. He kicked high and slammed his foot down with great force.

CRACK!

The ground shook as his foot hit the boar's head, crushing it. The beast fell to the ground, lifeless.

For a moment, everything was silent.

"W-what…" Riku stammered, staring at the fallen beast with wide eyes.

Hiroshi blinked, still standing with his foot on the boar's head. "Uh… what just happened?"

"You… you killed it… in one hit," Riku whispered, his voice shaking with shock and fear.

"I did?" Hiroshi looked down at the boar and then at his foot. He scratched his head. "Huh. I guess I did."

Riku stared at him, his tail puffed up like a brush. "You're not just a big human… you're a scary human!"

Hiroshi smirked slightly. "Yeah, well, I hear that too."

Hiroshi crouched next to the huge boar, looking at it closely. It was much bigger than any wild pig he had seen back in Japan. "Can we eat this?" he asked.

Riku, still looking at him like he was a hero, nodded quickly. "This is a level 10 Forest Boar! You're amazing, Henry!"

"Hmm?" Hiroshi raised an eyebrow, confused. "Is it worth something?"

"Yes, nya! The meat, the tusks, the hide—everything! Merchants pay a lot for Forest Boar parts." Riku's tail moved excitedly.

"Oh…" Hiroshi scratched his head. "But I'm still new here."

"New?" Riku tilted his head, his ears twitching with confusion. "New where?"

"Ah, never mind," Hiroshi said, waving his hand. He didn't want to explain that he didn't understand this world at all. "Riku, where can we sell this boar?"

Riku's face brightened. "Come to my village! There's a merchant there who will buy it for sure!"

Hiroshi looked down at the boar, crouching to get a better view. "This big thing, huh?" He placed his hands under it, surprised to find it felt light—like lifting a bag of rice instead of a huge monster.

"Oh, it's light," Hiroshi said as he stood up easily with the boar over his shoulder.

Riku's jaw dropped. "W-what?! You can lift that so easily?! Most people need a cart or help from other adventurers to carry one!"

Hiroshi shrugged and adjusted the boar as if it was no big deal. "Guess I'm just built different."

"Built different, nya…" Riku muttered, his golden eyes shining with admiration.

"All right," Hiroshi said, looking at Riku. "Lead the way, catboy. Let's go sell this."

"Ne~ it's Riku! Not 'catboy'!" Riku huffed, puffing his cheeks in playful annoyance before pointing to a dirt path that led into the forest.

Hiroshi smirked and followed behind Riku, the boar on his shoulder. He didn't know much about this world yet, but at least he wasn't hungry—and maybe this strange cat person would help him learn more.

As they walked down the dirt path, Hiroshi looked over at Riku, who was happily skipping ahead with his tail swaying. The way this little cat person moved through the forest made Henry feel uneasy.

"By the way," Hiroshi said, breaking the quiet, "what are you doing out here?"

"Nya? Me?" Riku turned around, tilting his head like he always did when he was curious. "Not much. Just walking and picking herbs like this." He reached into a small pouch on his waist and pulled out some green leaves.

Hiroshi raised an eyebrow. "What do you do if a monster shows up? Like that boar from earlier?"

Riku shrugged casually. "If it's big like that, I just run to the village. If it's a small monster, I kill it."

"Oh…" Hiroshi replied, not impressed.

"Ne~ ne~ Henry," Riku chirped, wagging his tail as he turned to face him.

"It's Hiroshi," Hiroshi corrected, feeling annoyed.

"Hii… hiros… Henry?" Riku stammered, his ears twitching nervously.

Hiroshi sighed and shook his head. "Fine. What is it?"

"Why were you lying in the grass before?" Riku asked, tilting his head again.

Hiroshi paused, trying to remember what happened the night before. "Hmm… How should I know? I drank, got drunk, and then woke up because you wouldn't stop poking me."

"Nyahaha~!" Riku laughed, covering his mouth with one hand. "So, you were just a drunk human, nya?"

"Yeah, yeah, laugh all you want," Hiroshi muttered, rolling his eyes as he adjusted the heavy boar on his shoulder.

Riku, still giggling, skipped a few steps ahead. "You're funny, Henry~."

"And you're annoying," Hiroshi shot back, but he couldn't help smiling a bit.

As they walked through the forest, Hiroshi found himself looking at the little catboy in front of him, Riku. Riku's tail swished lightly with each step, and Henry found it strangely captivating.

Why does he walk like that? Henry thought, furrowing his brow. Riku moved with a grace that made it look like he was gliding. It wasn't just his walk—it was everything about him. The way his hair bounced as he moved, the gentle curves of his slim figure, and the way his hips swayed caught Henry's attention. Riku had a softness to his body that was unmistakably feminine, and even his butt had a slight roundness that made it hard for Henry to see him as just a boy.

"He said he was a guy…" Hiroshi muttered under his breath, narrowing his eyes. "But nothing about him seems 'boy.' He looks more like a girl than any girl I've seen."

The thought bothered him. Maybe Riku was hiding something. Maybe "he" was actually a girl too shy to say so. Or maybe it was just a cultural difference in this world?

Unable to hold back, Hiroshi finally asked, "Are you really a guy?"

Riku stopped and turned to him, his ears twitching at the sudden question. "Nya? Yes~!" he said, smiling sweetly.

Hiroshi frowned and leaned down a little to get a better look at Riku's face. His lips were soft and full, his golden eyes sparkled with innocent cheer, and his long hair framed his delicate features perfectly.

"You sure?" Henry asked, his tone doubtful.

"Of course, nya!" Riku chirped, tilting his head with a grin. "Why do you keep asking that?"

Hiroshi scratched his head, trying to make sense of the contradiction in front of him. "No reason…" he muttered, standing up straight.

But the thought stayed in his mind. How could someone who looked, sounded, and acted like a girl not be one? As Riku turned back around and resumed walking, Hiroshi 's gaze returned to Riku's swaying tail.

Before he could stop himself, he thought, I really want to touch it.
