At this point, Jasper was the least of my problems. How was it that Nathan could speak to Jasper with so much ease after pretending to me that he didn't know him? I was so sure that they didn't know each other until now. This event that has brought me my doom in a resent wrapped in a bold tie. I had nothing to do with all the tension that brewed between them it showed that there was something deeper. A quiet frustration that only them knew about.
I stormed into Nathan's study, my chest heaving with frustration. The grand chandelier overhead cast a soft glow across the room, but it did little to quieten the rage in my veins or the storm of my anger. Nathan stood near his desk, flipping through a thick file, completely unmoved by my entrance.
"You lied to me," I said, my voice tight.
Nathan glanced up, his expression unreadable. "About what, Justina?"
