When the day broke, Zores awoke from his slumber with anxious look on his face. Today was the day before his 18th birthday, this day was supposed to be his last day of somewhat normal life. He sat up and looked in the other side of the room where a little girl of about the age of 13 was sleeping with pleasant smile on her little face, she was his little sister and his only family. After a few moments he stood up and walked out of the bedroom. The house was empty and silent, he went to the kitchen and started making the breakfast while thinking about the past,
About 30 years ago the world changed. The change started when a dozen of meteorites fell in the oceans all around the globe. The meteorites contained some kind of special powers, after some time the earth started to change the air became full of magical power, same power as on the meteorites. After a year of meteorite incident some people started to obtain abilities, these people were called awakeners. At first peace all around the world became chaotic as criminals started using their abilities for evil acts. But just in few months the peace returned as peace making organizations came into existence and also because about 70 percent of adult became awakened.
Just when everything was under control, portals were formed all over the world, they were quite mysterious, most of the people remained vary of them, but few curious minds in try to explore the unexplored ventured into them, but to everyone's surprise only about half of them returned. What they told the world was that the portals lead to unknown dungeons full of monsters and they could only come back to earth after running for their lives, as the monsters were not to be taken lightly, and those who were confident in their strength were slaughtered without any mercy.
After the news spread, few extraordinary powerful people went in the portals and discovered that not all the portals connect to same inner world, and the strength of monsters residing in them depends upon the color density of the portal, and in every dungeon their are boss rooms where you can find treasures after defeating the boss and by defeating the the boss you can also gain the ownership of that dungeon. The dungeon itself is a treasure in itself as it contains a variety of resources and after defeating every monster in it their, there are not many dangers in it.
After first month of appearance of portals many undiscovered portals which were not cleared faced dungeon break, monsters came from those dungeons killing and feeding on every living thing they laid their eyes upon. That day was written as the day of destruction for earthlings. It took the leadership of world a total of 5 years to take things under their control and another 5 years to make advancements in the field of abilities and dungeons.
In current times all the adults have one ability which they obtained at their 18th birthday or, for older ones they obtained their ability in the early times of dungeon appearance. The abilities can grow stronger or give birth to new abilities when curtain conditions are met. Abilities can also obtained from rune stones obtained from dungeon but finding those have very low probability.
Zores wanted to learn a combat related ability, because in this world filled of dangers where at any time an undiscovered dungeon can face dungeon brake only strong people or people protected by strong can survive. Zores did not have any strong backer and was only able to survive this long with help of luck. His parents died in a dungeon five years ago, after their death for four years they were taken care by their neighbors, then Zores decided to become independent of them of and live by them selves, for the money he had no concern for the year as his parents had left a huge amount of money for them in the account, the money was enough for them for a few years. But the money was about to run out, he had to start earning money from next month. He was now a high school graduate and ready to face the society. As for his profession, it will be decided tomorrow.
