The air was crisp and cool, the kind of autumn morning that made the summer feel like a distant dream. Connor walked the distant and familiar path to St Helena's academy. As he turned the corner to the school, he could hear the faint sound of his fellow students chattering a short distance away.
The sound of cars passing by as parents dropped their children off, Year 7's nervously walking through those big, intimidating gates for the first time as they are towered over by the other students. It was the same start to a new school year as it had always been.
So ordinary. So mundane.
But this time, it was all different.
Connor slapped his hands into his pockets as a smirk crept onto his face. At the end of last year, he was one of the most unpopular and bullied kids in school. Whether it was his ugly face, scruffy hair, yellow and broken teeth, or his stomach which stretched out further than should be possible on a sixteen year old boy. He was picked on for all of it.
Now though, his face had become one from a fairy-tale. His hair has turned silky and nearly combed to the side. His teeth were perfect and white. And his build went from morbidly obese to muscular and fit. He'd even grown from 5ft 6 to 5ft 3.
At first glance, no one would be able to recognise him. And it was all thanks to the power he gained over the summer.
