The afternoon passed neither too slowly nor too quickly, but it was enough for school to end soon. Dekisugi carefully handed out the homework notebooks provided by the teacher. After assigning the day's homework, the teacher announced the end of the day.
However, while school might have officially ended, the day's drama was far from over—particularly for Nobita, thanks to the morning incident where he couldn't contain his laughter.
"Nobita, stop right there!!!" Jaian bellowed as soon as the teacher left the room. "If you don't let me punch you right now, you better not show up to school tomorrow! Do you hear me?!"
"Jaian, relax! You should appreciate me—I'm clearly the most handsome one here, while you're just—well, you know," Nobita replied, oblivious to Jaian's growing rage.
Dekisugi noticed Jaian's expression turning more furious by the second. Without hesitation, he reached out and pulled Nobita aside.
"Uh..." Nobita finally realized the tension in the air. Covering his mouth with both hands, he stepped back nervously, a sheepish grin plastered on his face.
Before Nobita could say anything else, Jaian lunged at him like a raging tiger. Fortunately for Nobita, running away was one skill he excelled at.
Despite his lack of athleticism, Nobita had a knack for escaping sticky situations. Whether it was outrunning Jaian or avoiding ambushes set up by Jaian and Suneo, he somehow always managed to stay one step ahead.
Jaian eventually stopped chasing, panting heavily.
"Ugh, Nobita's getting better at running every day! I can't believe I couldn't catch him," Jaian grumbled, visibly frustrated.
He turned to Suneo, who was laughing quietly behind him. "And what are you laughing at, Suneo?! Do you want a taste of my fists?!"
Before Suneo could react, Jaian delivered a punch.
"Ouch! That hurt! What did I do? Just because you can't catch Nobita doesn't mean you can take it out on me!" Suneo muttered, rubbing his arm.
Despite Suneo's protests, the two were still close friends. Meanwhile, Dekisugi and Shizuka watched the scene unfold with amused smiles. As Jaian and Suneo headed off to play baseball, Dekisugi and Shizuka prepared to visit Nobita's house to do their homework.
"Alright, we'll see you two tomorrow," Dekisugi said, waving at Jaian and Suneo.
"Hey, Dekisugi and Shizuka, if you're going to Nobita's house, tell him he'd better be ready to face me tomorrow!" Jaian shouted, flexing his fists menacingly.
"Yeah, tell him to be ready!" Suneo chimed in, eager to stay on Jaian's good side.
Dekisugi and Shizuka exchanged a glance before nodding reluctantly. As Jaian and Suneo walked away, their arms around each other's shoulders, Shizuka turned to Dekisugi with a concerned expression.
"Dekisugi, should we tell Nobita about this?" she asked.
Dekisugi thought for a moment. "We should. At least that way, Nobita can prepare himself. If he assumes Jaian has cooled off, he might end up getting caught off guard and beaten tomorrow."
After a pause, Dekisugi added, "Shizuka, you go ahead to Nobita's house. I need to grab the manga I borrowed from him first. I'll join you there."
"Alright," Shizuka replied. "I'll stop by my house to drop off my bag. Don't take too long!"
Dekisugi nodded and quickened his pace toward home. Along the way, he pondered what kind of manga he should create in the future.
He considered various options but dismissed most of them—Crayon Shin-chan was inappropriate for someone his age to create, while Ultraman, Naruto, and One Piece didn't seem quite right. Then, an idea struck him: Digimon!
His eyes lit up at the thought. Digimon would be perfect—simple yet captivating for young audiences.
Lost in thought, Dekisugi soon reached his home, a spacious duplex house. He unlocked the door and stepped inside. The house was silent and empty, a reflection of his lonely upbringing.
Dekisugi shook his head to clear his thoughts. Despite the solitude, he felt increasingly at home in this world as his memories fully integrated. Even calling his parents felt more natural now.
He quickly climbed the stairs to his room, grabbed the manga, and collected his homework. With a sense of purpose, he headed out toward Nobita's house, his steps lighter with excitement.
Meanwhile, at Nobita's house, the boy was in a full-blown panic.
"Doraemon!" Nobita cried as he slid open the paper door to his room.
Though he had narrowly escaped Jaian, the ordeal left him shaken. To make matters worse, he had tripped over a rock and stepped into a puddle on his way home, leaving him in a disheveled state.
"Doraemon, you have to help me!" Nobita wailed, tears streaming down his face. "I just know Jaian's going to get me tomorrow, and it'll be even worse than today!"
The familiar whirring sound of Doraemon's gadgets filled the room as the robot cat prepared to assist his hapless friend.
