Chapter 20 - Trauma no breathing!

" Arata, you don't need to worry about not finishing the regimen," Asahi said as they all helped themselves to dinner.

" Just take it slow," he added and the latter just smiled a little.

" I'm just glad we are able to practice and camp here together" Riku chipped in, gobbling down his food happily.

After dinner, they decided to retire to the cottage to rest for the night.

Takahara and Haruki had a room to themselves, Masayoshi decided Riku would stay in the same room as him and the latter agreed not giving it much thought.

" I'm staying here overnight," Hinata suddenly said and Haruki was horrified.

" No Hinata, you won't be staying here tonight" he said his voice coming out sharper than intended and the rest of the team were surprised.

" And what's it to you. You have no right to dictate how I live my life, remember?" He said anger dripping in his voice

The rest of the team wondered what happened between the ever so loving brothers.

" I'll stay here with him Haruki, so please don't worry" Asahi said trying to lift the tension in the air.

Just as Haruki was about to protest, the rest of the team that haven't allocated themselves rooms said they'll stay out too, so Haruki can put his mind at ease.

He had no choice but to agree especially when his lil bro refused to spare him a glance. And with that they all retired for the night.

In the eeriness of the quiet night, Hinata lay there half asleep, half awake. He stayed in that position for a while.

At the same time, Arata was seen in the ocean on a swimming board, the full moon reflecting on the ocean in an ever so graceful way.

" I have to work harder," he mumbled to himself as he looked up at the millions of stars staring at him as if waiting for his next move.

" Beautiful..." He said smiling.

" Okay, I think I'm getting the hang of this," he continued speaking to no one in particular.

The wind blew and the trees waved as if cheering him to go on ahead.

The wind became heavier and started moving him in random direction and he started feeling scared.

As if not enough, the swimming board he was using as balance and guidance drifted away from his hands as the wind became heavier. The waves started getting bigger as heavy rain started pouring like a downfall.

" Shoot" he exclaimed, extremely scared as he tried to make his way back to the shore.

The wind was unsettling as Hinata sat up feeling a tug in his chest. He glanced around and noticed Arata was nowhere to be found in the tent.

" It's raining hard" he murmured as he got outside the tent. He looked ahead and the sight he saw petrified him. Arata was struggling to stay afloat while caught between strong and merciless waves as the rain keeps pouring hard.

" H-Help!" Arata tried to scream, but the water rushed into his mouth like an opening was finally made available.

Without thinking twice, Hinata ran towards the familiar scene that was replaying itself.

Asahi on the other hand woke up due to the noises he heard in the other tent. Hinata refused to sleep in the same tent as him and ended up sharing a tent with Hinata.

His movement also woke Kōji.

" Did you hear that ?" Asahi asked.

" Hear what," Kōji asked back.

" That voice," Asahi said, fear and hope dripping in his voice. He ran out of the tent, went over to Hinata's tent and found it open. Fear gripped him as he opened it and found no-one in.

" It's still warm, did they go to the restroom?" Kōji asked as he peeped in.

Asahi looked up ahead, a lightning striked and he saw the two of them struggling in the ocean.

In the water, Hinata was still trying to get to Arata despite his own fear. Wave after wave pushing him down, and everytime he struggled to find his way up. Just as he was still swimming, the way Arata was trying to call his name for help paralysed him.

For the first time in forever, he felt fear again. Not just fear, horror stricken fear. He couldn't move as the scenes he had forcefully forgotten started coming back into his memory and eyes, briefly but fiercely.

" Contact the rest," Asahi said and ran into the water but Kōji was not having it. He was going to save them with Asahi.

They both swam their way to the still struggling Arata and Kōji got him while Asahi went after the already drowning Hinata.

They made their way to the shore and Asahi couldn't think straight.

" Hey, Hinata, stay with me... Waku up baby, come on," Asahi said with shaky breath as he tried to revive Hinata.

Hinata coughed out water as he eyes began to open slightly. He still looked terrified as tears began to fall freely when he saw Asahi jumping into his arms immediately.

Asahi's heart sank at the sight and snuggled him closer stroking his hair and back. " Shh, baby it's okay" he said consoling Hinata.
