Chapter 1 - Shattered Vows: chapter 1.

Charu stood frozen, clutching the wedding photo of her husband and her best friend. She had never imagined that the man she loved more than herself could betray her in such a way. It felt as though her mind had gone blank, unable to process the whirlwind of emotions engulfing her. In her other hand, she held a picture of an idol—a symbol of devotion and trust now shattered.

As Charu stood there, lost in her thoughts, her best friend, Isha, broke the silence.

"I know this must be hard for you, Charu," Isha said softly, her voice trembling slightly. "But I can't hide the truth from you anymore. I need to tell you... Ahad and I are married."

Charu's gaze remained fixed on the photo in her hands. Without looking at Isha, she responded in a low, hoarse voice, "When did you get married, Isha?"

Isha hesitated, lowering her head as though weighed down by guilt. "Three years ago," she admitted quietly.

The words struck Charu like a thunderbolt. Although her face betrayed no emotion, the shock rippled through her. She and Ahad had been married for six years. That meant he had been unfaithful to her for half of their marriage, and she had been blind to it all this time.

Charu said nothing further. Her silence was louder than any words could have been. She handed the photo back to Isha and turned away, her movements slow and deliberate, as though each step drained her of strength. She walked to her room without looking back.

As Charu disappeared down the hallway, Isha watched her retreating figure, a glint of satisfaction gleaming in her eyes. A smirk curled at the corners of her lips as she muttered under her breath, "Finally, my plan has succeeded. What I've wanted for so long has happened. Charu, I've taken everything from you. The man you love, Ahad, is now mine."

She chuckled darkly to herself, savoring her triumph. Meanwhile, Charu entered her room and slammed the door shut behind her. She sank to the floor beside the door, her body trembling as the weight of the betrayal pressed down on her.

The man she had loved more than life itself was now a stranger. The life she had built was crumbling, and she still couldn't bring herself to fully accept the bitter truth.
