Jeren opens the door to his house and steps inside. As soon as he closes the door and looks around, he notices that everything is clean and tidy.
It's obvious that Dane had cleaned before leaving because no one had been there after him.
Jeren starts checking all the rooms, one by one, and finally finds his phone charger.
Without wasting any time, he connects his phone to the charger. After five minutes of charging, the phone turns on.
Jeren scratches his head as he looks at the phone.
"Maybe I should let Lucky know the phone isn't charged yet, so it'll take a bit more time."
Thinking this, Jeren goes to the door, opens it slightly, and peeks outside. But as soon as he looks, he doesn't see Lucky anywhere.
It doesn't take him long to figure out that Lucky had lied about waiting and had run away. Even the man who had been unconscious behind the bushes was gone.
Jeren scans both sides of the street before stepping back inside. He closes the door, goes to the wardrobe, and pulls out a black shirt and pants. Then he heads to the bathroom to take a shower.
"Well, at least the bathroom is nice," he says, turning on the shower and stepping under the stream of water.
Cold water flows down his body and splashes onto the floor.
Jeren feels refreshed. A smile spreads across his face, and his body feels light as the water hits his shoulders and legs. While he enjoys the shower, he hears a sound coming from outside.
Ring, ring, ring.
His phone is ringing. But he isn't sure if it's real or just his imagination. To confirm, he stretches his hand out and turns off the shower.
That's when he hears the ringing clearly. Wrapping a towel around his waist, he steps out and picks up the phone.
It's an unknown number. The screen shows ten missed calls from the same contact
.
"Whose number is this?" Jeren wonders and answers the call.
-( Jeren ) Hello?
A rough voice speaks on the other end.
-( boss ) Dane, where the hell have you been? Why haven't you been coming to work? If you want to quit, just say it, but don't waste my time! I gave you this job out of pity because you're poor, and now you've disappeared. Forget about your pay—I'm not giving you a damn penny!
Listening to this, Jeren bites his lower lip and exhales sharply.
-( jeren) Listen, I don't know who you think you're talking to—
Before he can finish, there's a knock on the door. The phone is still pressed to his ear, and the man on the other end continues ranting.
Jeren unplugs the charger, keeps talking, and walks to the door. When he opens it, he sees Lucky standing there with four other boys.
"Whatever your problem is, deal with it yourself. I'm hanging up now," Jeren says coldly, ending the call mid-sentence.
He looks at Lucky and the group of boys behind him.
"Lucky, how dare you run off and betray me?" he asks in a cold tone, his eyes narrowing at Lucky.
Lucky doesn't answer. Instead, he pushes the door open wider and steps inside.
The rest of the boys follow him. Once everyone is inside, Jeren shuts and locks the door.
After coming inside, all five boys look Jeren up and down because he's wearing nothing but a towel.
But Jeren doesn't seem to care at all. Instead, he's busy observing them, analyzing each one of them with his sharp gaze.
One of the boys, wearing glasses and carrying a backpack and laptop, steps forward. He adjusts his glasses with his index finger and says,
"You don't even know us, but you locked the door after letting us in."
Before Jeren can respond, Lucky laughs and interrupts.
"I told you, Jeren is fearless. Fear doesn't even come close to him!" He then turns to Jeren with a grin.
"Honestly, Jeren, you're the first guy I've met who's like this."
Jeren doesn't reply. He simply walks over to the sofa, sits down, and crosses his legs.
"Lucky, do I look like I'm hosting a free feast here? Why did you bring your friends along?"
"At least put on some pants if you're going to sit like that," Lucky says to Jeren.
"My black shirt and pants are in the bathroom of the room across. Go get them," Jeren replies calmly.
"Why should I go? Get them yourself," Lucky pouts, puffing his cheeks in irritation, refusing to do Jeren's work.
But Jeren simply crosses his arms and leans back on the sofa, glaring at Lucky. Under that intense gaze, Lucky realizes he has no other choice. Even though he's fuming, he stomps off to get Jeren's clothes.
The boy with the laptop sits on a chair near the sofa, places the laptop on the table, and starts typing rapidly.
His fingers move across the keyboard like the wind, and he occasionally adjusts his glasses. After five minutes of typing, he finishes what he was doing and turns the laptop toward Jeren.
Jeren picks it up and starts reading. The screen shows a photo and detailed information about the man who had been following him earlier that afternoon.
Jeren looks up at the boy, who speaks up.
"My name is Cyber S—Cyber Shark—but you can call me by my real name, Nekoil."
Nekoil had been a computer genius since childhood. At a very young age, he had mastered hacking. But while he was fearless and brilliant in the cyber world, he was introverted and shy in real life.
His family never paid attention to him, dismissing him as a bookworm. They didn't know that Nekoil was actually the infamous hacker Cyber S.
With jet-black hair, a gym-toned physique, and a nerdy appearance, Nekoil was an unusual mix of brains and brawn.
"So, Nekoil, can you tell me who asked you to dig up this information on that man?"
A chill runs down Nekoil's spine.
Just then, Lucky steps out of the room carrying Jeren's clothes. As soon as he comes out, Nekoil looks at him, making it clear that Lucky had told him. Right in front of them, three boys are standing silently, not saying a word, just quietly observing.
Jeren looks at Lucky with a creepy smile.
"Lucky, what is this? I asked you to do something, and you're having someone else do it?"
"You don't know, but the moment I saw that man, I understood who he works for."
Lucky walks over, sits beside Jeren, and hands him his clothes.
"What do you mean? Who does he work for?" Jeren asks.
"For Spider," Lucky replies, taking the laptop from Jeren's hands and passing it to Nekoil.
"Nekoil, pull up the pictures of the Spider group."
The Spider Group is an organization where every member has a black spider tattoo on their neck. This tattoo serves as their identification, showing which group they belong to.
The Spider Group has a total of four bosses. One manages the organization, the second handles killings, and the third, who is the founder and main boss, runs the entire group on his commands.
As for the fourth person, no one knows anything about him. He operates like a shadow, but everyone acknowledges his existence. Without ever seeing him, people carried fear of him in their hearts.
