Ryu landed in the middle of the closest army and swung his scythe widely. The army were caught off guard because they weren't expecting him to attack first but they were still quite coordinated and managed to defend.
The ten arch demons stood in the air watching the battle below with frowns on their faces, they didn't know what they were fighting, they couldn't feeling his aura, it was as if he was there and still wasn't there, what made them more wary was they could feel that the inferno prison was no more there. The region that was always filled with wailings of souls and crackling fire was now dead silent except for the sound of battle going on below.
Ryu took in a deep breath, he hadn't had time to refine his battle skills but he didn't really care right now all he wanted to do was kill!! He wanted this battle so much that he immediately went on a frenzy. His scythe danced around him like the reaper's blade and he just kept swinging.
Injuries kept appearing on his spirit body but did he care? No….he was so lost in the battle that he didn't even think about anything else.
'kill…kill…kill…kill!!'
With each echo in his ear his blade ripped a new life, he swung the his scythe backwards at the same time ducked for a massive battle axe to fly right pass where his head previously was, his other hand punched forward and with a strong pull backwards the guts of a demon was drawn out. One should also remember that the demons had the strongest body structures of all creatures. A body tempering realm cultivator can not even dream of ever piercing the skin of a spirit enlightenment realm demon, except that cultivator was a genius among geniuses or he had an equally strong body. But Ryu faced no resistance whatsoever, he harvested and harvested.
'How long had it been…? This feeling….this is addictive… and dangerous '. Right now Ryu could be seen on a hill of demon bodies, still cutting down at the second legion, he had finished 10,000 demons from the first legion and it cost him on wing from his back. But right now he didn't even know how he was moving.
A bone arrow came flying and his head moved to the side slightly to give it way , his body was now reacting based on instincts. He was tired already but his body didn't stop moving, his arms kept swinging.
In a realm that was the total opposite of the nether realm. There was no sun but the realm was even brighter than the realm with 3 golden suns, the energy in the air was so tense and gave off a holy feeling that would instill reverence into the hearts of those that could take even a wisp of it.
Beautiful and melodious voices could be heard singing and playing different instruments from afar. The atmosphere was so surreal and peaceful if one was given an opportunity to visit this realm then it'll be a boon of a lifetime, a once in a million years opportunity.
A man sat by a small pond that had water that was so clear like glass, he was dressed in a simple cotton dress, his face was so gentle and he gave of a feeling of security to those around him. The only things that seemed like they damaged the picturesque was the blood dripping from his palms. With each drop that feel on the soil, the plants around swayed and radiated with life, but even with that a smile was plastered on his face as he stood staring towards the skies that was blemishlessly whiter than snow.
"Mm,ok dad.." his voice sounded softly, it sounded like the rumbling of thunder but so calm that one might fall asleep under the sound. The rumblings of thunder supposed to instill fear but even as his voice sounded as majestic and fearsome as that, it still sounded soft and gentle to the ears.
He stood up and stretched his hand above the pool allowing a few drops of blood to fall in it before walking away leaving behind foot prints made from blood. The pool steered with vigor like it was happy for receiving the best meal it had ever had in years.
Back in the nether realm
"Hmm, that's enough" the same ancient voice that spoke before at the meeting room sounded again. The ten arch demons looked up towards seemingly nothing and even Ryu couldn't help but look up, the other legions of demons also paused their charge .
Ryu's sycthe also crumbled slowly as his chest heaved heavily. He could feel the gaze on his body , it felt so suffocating although he didn't know where the gaze was coming from.
He knew there were ten arch demons waiting to attack but were seemingly just analysing him because they didn't know what he was. But he didn't care, he felt like he could still deal with them.
But he didn't know there was another watching from the shadows. He scanned the area round to know where the voice was coming from but he couldn't quite catch it. His crimson eyes became calm and gentle as he plopped down on the hill of corpses with a relaxed face.
"Old man can you send me back please?"
He asked casually.
There was a huge pause in the air and it felt like the breath was stolen from the lungs of everyone present.
Ryu knew that he was too casual and that person might likely be offended with his tone but he still said it because if the person wanted him dead he would have died hours ago.
"Mm…fascinating creature, answer me one question" the ancient voice echoed calmly.
"What is it??" Ryu replied uncaringly.
" What is your name? And which demon clan are you from?"..
" Those are too questions old man, but my name is Ryu, no clan , consider that a favour, can you send me back now?"
A pause came again , the arch demons wanted nothing but to pounce on the little rascal but couldn't defy the ancient voice so they could only grit their teeth.
" Mm.you can go, but don't die!" The ancient voice said and a violent pull drew Ryu towards a black hole that manifested behind him
"Don't die?? What does that even mean!". Ryu asked with a puzzled expression before danger bells assaulted his hole senses , his body tingled and he immediately turned into fog and sped forward immediately.
BOOOOOMMMM!!!!!
BANG!!
A lightning bolt landed right where Ryu was supposed to land but he had escaped quickly even though his reaction speed was fast, half of his chest exploded into blood mist .
Ryu gritted his teeth in pain, blood oozed from his ears and nose, he could hear Maia's voice shouting towards him, but he couldn't make out what she was saying exactly. He was about the relax again when his body sped to the right with blinding speed that was even faster than teleportation and immediately another bolt tore through there again. Ryu then came to understand what the ancient voice meant by saying he shouldn't die.
He looked up as blood kept oozing from his nose and ears, he could see another bolt Coming towards him. He knew that this one was going to be unavoidable except if he could travel 20kms with a step. He roared into the air , unleashed his aura to the fullest and launched himself upwards to meet the bolt, he sent all the energy he had towards his heart and shielded it from being torn through. Right at that moment the whole world suddenly froze. The rumblings stopped and the whole dark clouds recoiled giving way to a bright golden sun in the horizon, the bolt of thunder faded into nothing and Ryu momentum receded by itself without him knowing how, he only came to his senses when he realised he was falling from the skies.
"Huh??...what just happened" . He was puzzled but before he could think, exhaustion washed over him and he collapsed. Right before he would land on the hard floor, he felt a soft and gentle arm wrap around him. He opened his eyes with difficulty but he still couldn't see the face of who held him till he passed out.
Shiiiinnng!!!.
A dagger appeared on Hannah's throat.
"Give him back!!" Maia's cold voice echoed in the now broken formation room. She had rushed towards Ryu to help him but wasn't able to reach him for fear of being caught in the tribulation. When this woman suddenly appeared out of nowhere and rushed towards him.
Hannah didn't answer Maia and just kept staring at her son for some time. Her eyes had grown more greyish the stronger she became and right now she was far stronger than what Maia could handle even with her true strength back, she had wanted to ascend from this plane because she felt that the energy here was lacking but she decided to see her son before she left but couldn't find him till when he burst out in desperation to attack a tribulation lightning before she figured that her son was the source of the dark cloud that loomed over the capital for over 25years.
He gaze grew softer and softer that Maia grew confused on how to act, on one hand she didn't know Hannah and she couldn't let Ryu fall into the hands of an enemy in his vulnerable state and also the woman on front of her was a pure demon, she could feel it . On the other hand she felt like she could understand that gaze in her eyes, it was the same gaze that Ryu always gave her when she behaved obediently, she recognised it and couldn't help but look at Ryu's face . Then she suddenly noticed the similarities that the both of them had. Her face went dark immediately. She swung her dagger straight at Hannah's throat.
Hannah shifted to the side with a frown, she had ignored Maia because she could feel that she cared for her son but her attacking her to kill when she obviously figured that they were related was confusing on her part. Well.. she couldn't be blamed, because even as powerful of a demon she is she didn't grow up or mingle with other demons and it seems she haven't even came across any till now so she didn't know how it was in the demonic realm.
Maia had grown up in a family where her weaker siblings were devoured by her parents or given to the other promising ones to devour and here she saw Ryu's powerful mother looking at her weak son with a soft gaze, she immediately translated it to the gaze a predator will give it's food and with that her feet stomped on the rubbles in the room as she darted towards Ryu's mother again.
She went for the throat again but a long foot landed squarely on her chest.
Bang!!
She flew backwards with blood flowing from her mouth, she stood up immediately prepared to charge again. Although that kick could kill a regular transcendent, she was a real demon, a very high grade demon , it was already impressive for Hannah to make her bleed. That was to show how strong Hannah was. And with that kick Maia now knew how strong Hannah was, she smirked and charged again.
This time she spread her wings to dash forward , her dagger swung towards Hannah, when Hannah's leg came towards her again, she threw the dagger forwards and punched out with all her strength.
PAK!!!
Bone met bone and Maia slid backwards with a flap of her wing she charged forward again and stretched her palm forward . The dagger flew into her hand and this time she slashed out at the abdomen. Hannah didn't move again and stood still.
PUCHI!!
She was pierced but she didn't even wince and held Maia's hand and looked straight into her eyes before asking.
"Happy??"
Maia was confused, she didn't expect it to be that easy , she looked at her hand in puzzlement but by then Hannah hand let her go, the wound also closed up like it was never there. She walked out to lay her son in a bed. She was a very smart woman and with how powerful she had become how won't she understand why Maia attacked her.
She couldn't help but smile as she looked at Ryu.
"You found a good one huh??"
Maia still stood there not quite understanding what had just happened, her mind suddenly remembered that Ryu had been taken away, she immediately sped to catch up with widened eyes.
"IF YOU LAY A FINGER ON HIM ILL FUCKI….." Her yells trailed off when she saw Hannah cleaning Ryu's wounds gently. Hannah turned to her with a smile and said.
"Come, join me" a smile hanging on her lips gently as her grey eyes looked into Maia's red and confused eyes.
