Chapter 1 - Chapter 2: On a day like no other

"Hey, dad!" The young Leonidas shouted.

"Yes son, what is it?" The tired father said.

"I wanna go out and play!" Leonidas shouted back.

"Alright, alright, calm down and I'll be out there with you soon." Castor said.

Leonidas jumped around like a bunny rabbit, having way too much energy for his dads own health. But Leonidas didn't care, he was only 5 years old.

"Hey, Leonidas. Hold on just a second." Castor called for his son.

"Yea? What is it dad?" Leonidas said, with a more serious tone.

"We should probably wait for your mother to get back home. We wouldn't want to freak her out when she comes back home and doesn't find us anywhere." Castor said to his son.

"Alright... fair enough." Leonidas answered.

Leonidas sat beside his father in the couch. Castor took out a book and started reading to himself, all Leonidas felt was longing for when his mom got home, so that he could go out and play.

"Son, what is it you like the most about where we live? Its just a question to feed my own curiosity." His father asked him.

"Well, I like how we have all these cool different kinds of humans everywhere! Its like every friend has a new universe to them!" He answered his father.

"Well, we have that in common. I couldn't agree more, son." His father said to him.

Out of nowhere, without even a warning, the front door swings open. Its Phoebe, Leonidas mom, standing there exhausted.

"Hey, we have a slight issue." She says in-between breaths.

"What is it honey!?" Castor stands up quickly, worried.

There, in Phoebe's arms, is a child, no older then 3, covered in a blanket.

"Is that... a child?" Castor asks his wife.

"Yes, I found her on the streets, cold and scared. She kept telling me her parents are gone." Phoebe explains.

"Are you serious honey? What if she is a mimic of some kind!" Castor says, a little panicked.

"I couldn't just leave her on the streets! You moron!" Phoebe exclaims, seemingly a little angry at her husband.

Castor, realizing what he had said was a little out of line, sits back down onto the couch.

"Alright, that is fair. However we don't have another bed just yet, and the food we have is for only 3." Castor explains.

"Well we can share some food with her today, tomorrow we can easily go out and buy enough food for all of us. For tonight and any other night until we get her a bed of her own, she will just have to sleep with us." Phoebe explains back.

"Understood. However we have a son of our own, lets try to give him that attention too." Castor tells his wife.
