Chereads / A Vampire's Embrace / Chapter 5 - CHAPTER FIVE

Chapter 5 - CHAPTER FIVE

The night was heavy with silence when a low-class vampire, its eyes glowing with evil intent, lunged at Emma, craving her blood. Fear froze her, but before the creature could attack, a strong, steady hand covered her eyes. The touch shielded her from the horror about to unfold.

A piercing scream shattered the quiet—a sound of pure agony. Emma, unable to see, could only hear the creature thrashing in pain, its cries echoing through the dark streets. Her heart raced as the world around her descended into chaos.

When the hand was gently removed, Emma turned to see who had saved her. Her eyes widened in shock as they met the stern gaze of her boss, Alexander Blackwood. His calm voice broke the tension.

"Miss Emma are you alright?" he asked.

"I... I'm fine," she replied, her voice shaky. Never in her life had she imagined something like that would happen to her. Or was it a prank?

"But what was that? Who were they?" she coughed, her throat completely dry.

"I don't know," Alexander answered, his intense eyes fixed on her.

Emma nodded, confused and frightened.

She had no idea that the man standing before her was not only her boss but also a powerful vampire hiding his true nature.

"Why were you here, sir" she asked, her voice trembling. She just realized Alexander had literally saved her from something but he wasn't hurt.

"I was just passing by," he said, his tone steady. "This city can be unpredictable. I sensed danger and stepped in."

Emma frowned. "But why would someone attack me?"

"I don't have an answer," he replied, his gaze shifting to the shadows. "Sometimes, danger finds us without reason."

Emma remained quiet, unsettled by the night.

Later that night, Emma lay in bed, replaying the events in her mind. The vampire, the battle, and Alexander's mysterious presence haunted her thoughts.

How had he arrived so quickly? Why did he seem unshaken by the chaos?

She couldn't make sense of it all. The normal world she thought she knew was unraveling, revealing something far darker and more mysterious.

As she stared at the ceiling, she felt an inexplicable pull toward the unknown. She didn't yet realize that the night's events were only the beginning of a much larger story—a tale of vampires, secrets, and a connection she couldn't yet understand.

After Alexander watched Emma walk down the alley to a safer place. His eyes turned crimson red. The spot where the vampire was had smoke rising from the ground.

The vampire's body got together bit by bit. I was all done by Alexander. Alexander had brought the vampire back to life.

Alexander grabbed the vampire by the head and immediately disappeared into the supernatural realm of the vampires.

The vampire was from a lower class of clan who was sneaked into the human realm by the leader. Alexander stormed into the realm and found the lower class vampires together with the leader.

The leader and the vampires stood up. The leader trembled but still showed bravery. "Why have you come here my lord?"

Alexander laughed cynically. "Lord?" "Who dares send this thing to the human world?!" He roared, his voice echoing through the hall.

The low class vampire struggled to escape from the grip of Alexander. Alexander wasting no time, pierces his hand into the heart of the vampire and rips out the heart of the vampire.

With the heart still beating, Alexander squeezes the heart and drinks the blood of the vampire from the heart leaving the mouths of the remaining vampire agape.

"Attack!!" The leader of the clan ordered.

The vampires dashed towards Alexander who stood still unfazed by their attacks. One by one the were shredded into pieces, Alexander swiftly moving and dodging their hits.

He was furious. More furious than he usually was. Why?

Because Emma was the one in danger.

He strikes one of the vampires, smashing it's face to the ground and brutally killing each vampire until the last.

"My lord, please calm down." The leader of the clan begged as he took several steps backwards while Alexander took steps forward to him.

In a split second Alexander dashed to him, squeezing his neck leaving the leader struggling.

"Who sent him?" Alexander asked.

The leader coughed, his face completely red. He looked like a human because he was in an upper rank. He smiled at Alexander and said. "Never will I speak of my leader. Get ready Alexander, the 'New Vision ' is here to stay and lead our realm better.

New Vision?

Wasting no time , Alexander ripped the head of the vampire leaving the body falling lifeless to the ground.

In his private quarters, Alexander Blackwood sat deep in thought. His room reflected his centuries-old existence, its walls covered in ancient tapestries and its space lit by the flicker of candlelight.

Earlier that night, he had been hunting when he sensed something unusual. Following the sound of footsteps, he had discovered Emma facing a low-class vampire.

Alexander's instincts had taken over. He had protected Emma, destroying the creature with the ancient power within him. Yet, he couldn't shake the question: why had the vampire targeted her?

Sitting alone, Alexander stared into the darkness, his mind swirling with unanswered questions. There was something about Emma he couldn't ignore, something that set her apart.

He didn't yet understand the bond that fate was weaving between them. But one thing was clear—Emma Bennett was no ordinary human, and her connection to his world would soon change everything.

Long ago, on a battlefield drenched in blood, Alexander Blackwood had been a different man. War had shaped him, turning him into a ruthless warrior. His blade had moved with deadly precision, cutting down enemy after enemy without hesitation.

The brutality of war left no room for kindness. Alexander's once-innocent heart had hardened, replaced by the instincts of a predator. His hands were stained with the lives he had taken, and the cries of the fallen followed him like shadows.

On that battlefield, Alexander embraced his darker nature. The man he had been was gone, replaced by the vampire forged in the fires of violence. The weight of his past would follow him forever, a reminder of the monster he had become.
