Chapter 9 - 9- New Tenent - Part 1

Finding his way out of that magical dimension was not difficult. Liam was even begining to think that he had a talent for this magic stuff

Unlike the time Liam was forced to enter the dimension and did not know what to do until half an hour later, this time, he knew what he needed to do.

His eyes felt over-taxed, and they even hurt because he used them too much. But the strain of using them was well worth it if it meant that Liam would be able to get out of the dimension.

Liam only needed five minutes to reach the exit before his body passed through the energy barrier, and he was outside.

The sky around him had turned red, and the sun was setting, making Liam realize that he had missed the whole day while only spending about an hour inside that magical dimension.

"Fucking hell! I needed to go and apply for some part-time jobs this afternoon, but it looks like I missed them all. What do I do about all my bills now? Do I have to take a loan for them?"

Liam questioned himself, but even he knew that this was not a recommended solution for him. He did not want to be chased around because he owed someone money.

For now, he decided to head home because it was late, and he needed to cook dinner. His stomach needed food, and Liam did not have the money to eat out.

So, Liam walked toward his home, but as he neared it, he could feel some kind of disturbance in the air. It almost felt like magic, but Liam's eyes hurt too much for him to check.

[Warning: Unknown entity approaching user.]

The system chipped in, informing Liam that he had a visitor. As soon as the warning finished flashing, Liam noticed the person standing in front of his two-storied house with an awkward expression on their face.

"Excuse me, but is your place still available to be rented out? I am willing to pay double the price mentioned in the ad, but I really need a place to rent out urgently."

Liam blinked as he looked at the teen in front of him. The female looked back at him with an almost begging expression, waiting for Liam to give her a response.

"You want to rent my place out? Wait! How long have you been here? Come inside, or people might misunderstand me."

Liam's expression moved through confusion to annoyance before finally settling on surprise. He quickly ushered the female inside so that he could talk to her more.

Either he did not look threatening enough for the teenager to worry about, or because she was too naive in her thinking, but the female did not think much of Liam and decided to follow him inside his house.

Once inside, Liam gestured for the girl to take a seat while he went and brought juice for her to drink.

It was only after these formalities were out of the way that Liam turned to look at the girl with a serious expression on his face.

"You said that you want to rent out my second floor? I am afraid that it will be tough for me to rent it out to a teenage girl who wants to live alone. Are your parents alright with your decision?"

Liam asked the girl in an almost awkward manner.

The teenager did not even look offended by Liam's questions. She finished her juice before putting the glass down on the table and then taking out her business card that felt suspiciously like the one given to him by Victor.

"Please don't worry about me. My name is Bianca Ross, and I am an orphan recently out of the system because I became of age. I am willing to sign any agreement you give me if you allow me to move in today."

Liam's brain stopped working for a full minute before he tried to process what he heard, and as soon as he did, he felt the need to rub his forehead.

"You want to move in today? Aren't you asking for the impossible now? My place is not even set up, and I still need to get it cleaned and set up—"

"That won't be a problem for me. I will pay for all the expenses and set up the place as well. I just ask you not to disturb me and not come upstairs, no matter what you hear. Now, if we have an agreement, can we sign the deal?"

The teenager was insistent, and it was clear that she was set on getting Liam's place rented out by her.

And honestly, Liam should have asked more questions before renting his place out to an unknown person like this, but he was too tired to argue with anyone today.

He was also being offered a sum of money that was far beyond anything he could imagine getting for his run-down place.

All Liam could see were upsides to this deal, and only his cautious side tried to warn him about the harm of getting into a situation without thinking about it.

'Money vs. peace of mind. What should I choose? Having peace of mind would be good, but I do need money urgently…'

It felt like a tough decision to make, but one look at Bianca's determined expression was enough to make Liam fold.

"Fine! I will lend my second floor to you. But it will be up to you to keep it clean and maintain it. Also, since I told you that it was not finished being set up, I need you to sign a written waiver that any accidents that happen because of this will not be my fault, and you will not sue me for it."

Liam put his terms clearly on the table.

It felt a little scummy to do this to a child who looked to be barely an adult, but Liam needed to cover all his grounds. He was not about to fall into a trap and lose what little he had just because he sympathized with a kid.
