Early in the morning, a slender, teenage girl with a petite figure. She has medium-length, brown, hair often tied up in a ponytail with layers hanging over her face, one on each side, she also has fair skin and blue eyes.
Her face was filled with emotion from excitement, curiosity and anxiety as she was called by the professor and given the task to wake up the new mutant that had been brought last night.
A new mutant! It is always exciting to meet new people, especially helping her fellow mutant. She was now in front of his room and instead of knocking he simply went through the door using her powers having been so far used doing it that she forgets to knock!
What greeted her would only be described as unbelievable. Her body tense up and stunned upon seeing the person before her. It was a young man with hair as dark as the night that shines like an obsidian that gives off a tint of green and it was rather long that reached his back. What drew her attention was his body that was seemingly modelled by a skilled artisan showing every muscle group. There were many beefy men that she had seen but this person was different.
'Are those scars?' Her eyes wandered seeing the lines across his body that covered every corner as if it was numbered. She can't help but gasp that the person's attention is turning their heads to show his face.
"Uhmm hi?" His face looked rather charming and friendly while being cute like he was a harmless bear. He awkwardly smiled and waved at her seemingly baffled by her appearances.
"H-Hi! I'm sorry! I forgot to knock!" She felt embarrassed that she wanted to crawl in the hole. The first hot guy that she finds attractive got the impression she was a pervert.
"It's fine. I'm sure you didn't do it on purpose but how did you get inside? I remember locking it?" He said making her feel at ease.
"Ah, I use my powers. But recently I've been used to using my powers that I sometimes forget." She explained trying to save any dignity left.
"I can relate. You don't know how many times I can die because I can simply revive." He said like it was normal to die that made her lips twitch. Was he serious!? Professor did mention he came from a Lab…
"Anyway, I am Adam Ila'ah formerly known as Ex.#682. it's nice to meet yah." He introduced himself by showing a wide grin at her that made her heart suddenly react and blush. Was she falling for him? Is her soulmate!?
"Hmmm? Are you alright? Are you sick? You look kinda red?" He got close trying to check if I was sick, which made me blush even more.
"I…I'm fine." She composed herself before speaking.
"Anyway, I am Katherine Pryde but you can simply call me Kitty." She introduced herself and Adam nodded.
"Okay, Kitty. Call me Adam. Anyway, why are you sneaking into other people's rooms?" He gave a teasing smile that made her stutter once again.
"Come on! I said it's an accident!" Kitty pouted that Adam was cute.
"Hehehe~ I'm just teasing you. But seriously, why are you here?" Adam stopped even though Kitty still pouted a bit.
"Professor told me to show you around. He said it would be a good idea to make someone you can relate with and I'm a person who can get along with people!" Kitty said and Adam nodded, being drawn by her demeanor.
"Ah, I see. Well I was just about to ask where to get breakfast." Adam said and this made Kitty excited.
"Perfect! My friends and I are going to meet up to have breakfast." Kitty said.
"Alright, lead the way. Oh, hold on." Adam shapeshited and created clothes consisting of simple form fitting shirts that hugged tightly on his physique.
"Woah! Was that your power?" Kitty was awed when he formed clothes.
"Yeah, I can tell you more as we head to the kitchen."
Adam said and she nodded heading to the kitchen walking down the corridor. He had spread his senses and knew that only a few mutants lived in the mansion while others most likely lived with their parents or had a place of their own.
It has never been explicit in the comic on how things are laid out and more importantly how many students actually study in the institute. In the show and movies there's only a handful of people shown.
"So what do you think about this so far?" Kitty asked.
"Cozy. Better than my old place." Adam said, wondering if he could find ways to make money and buy his own place.
"...your old place." Kitty muttered imagining how horrible that place might be since she had been on a mission before and it wasn't pleasant to say the least.
"Yup. What about you? How long have you been in this place?" Adam turned to her.
"It's at least been a few months or probably a year? I'm still adjusting with the whole thing." Kitty said remembering the first time she awakened her mutant powers and how lost she felt. Imagine a sudden change to your body without a sign and simply appeared.
"Oh, I guess I'm lucky my powers help me adapt to any and all situations. Though, I can never say all since you never know." Adam said trying not to be cocky and develop a god complex.
"Adaptation? So that's your power?" Kitty is hoping to know more.
"Yeah."
Adam hadn't talked to anyone for far too long that he often speaks without any filter but fortunately from the few interactions he adapted to avoid speaking about his past. Adam doesn't mind talking about his experience in the facility but they clearly feel uncomfortable about it.
"I've seen someone with similar powers but I hadn't seen them create clothes like you did." Kitty said.
"Well, I gained new abilities to combat certain tactics and it gave me the ability to manipulate my body. What you see is made from my body." Adam answered and noticed Kitty pondering about something.
"Wait…does that mean you're naked?" Kitty doesn't know how to react about the information but Adam chuckled about it.
"Ah, no. I said made, doesn't mean it's attached to me." Adam said as Kitty nodded.
The two continued to chat until they arrived at the kitchen where there were around four people. Two men and two girls.
"Is this the new guy?" The girl spoke. She had short hair swept to the side with Chinese features. She wore a crop top and jeans.
"Glad you can join us, new guy." The boy with brown, short hair and brown eyes. He has white skin and a lean physique. He wears a light blue, short-sleeved shirt with dark blue sleeves.
"Hey! Hey! Come sit here!" The other boy with black hair had a hairstyle that split to the middle. Similarly, he wore a red shirt and pants.
"Thanks." Adam took a seat and sat down next to him while Kitty took the other side. He glanced at the quiet girl who had brown hair with white streaks.
"I'm Adam Ila'ah. It's nice to meet you." He introduced himself.
"Likewise. I'm Robert Louis Drake but people just call me Bobby." He introduced himself.
"Mine is Kurt Wagner." The other guy said.
"I'm Jubilation Lee but you can call me Jubilee, Handsome." She flirted while winking at Adam.
"Don't you say that to everyone new male students?" Kitty said.
"This time it's true. He looks just like my type."
Jubilee seems a lot more straightforward and Adam wondered if this is what she is in the comic or not. Then again, she is a teenager while in the comic she's an adult.
"Uhmm…thanks for the compliment. You also look beautiful." Adam's praise that made Jubilee smile while Kitty appeared to be annoyed.
"Thanks! What about Kitty? I think she's jealous of being left out." She glances at her teasing the other girl who pinch Jubilee causing her to tens up.
"Eep! Hey don't pinch me! I'm just teasing." Jubilee said while Adam chuckled with the interaction then turned to the other girl.
"Hey, it's your turn Anne." She taps the silent girl with her elbow who quietly introduces herself.
"I'm Anna Marie, it's nice to meet you I guess." Her tone was rather dead and distant, almost trying to avoid developing any relationship with anyone.
"Come on! Give it some energy! No hard feelings, Annie here is just not used to anyone yet. She is also new, a month or so before you."
Jubilee said with Adam nodding looking at each and everyone noting that Rogue looked like she's from X men Evolution alongside Kitty, Bobby and Kurt with only exception being Jubilee who appeared like her X-Men 97 version.
"It's fine, not everyone seems to be as energetic as you. Is it related to your powers?" Adam asked, grabbing a piece of pancake that they made and pouring syrup into it while spreading butter.
"Maybe? From what I know, I'm able to generate explosions and control how strong or weak they are likely to be." She demonstrated her ability by creating small explosions that appeared like small fireworks.
"Oh, that's pretty cool. What about you guys?" Adam asked.
"I'm able to teleport." Kurt vanish into black mist even though he actually travelling between a dimension then return back.
"That's a neat trick." Adam commented.
"Mine is I am able to freeze things." He created a block of ice from his hands.
"That's cool." Adam jokingly said that made them giggled and chuckled even Anna smiled.
"Nice one." Kitty gave a thumbs up and Adam turned to Anna who nervously spoke.
"I…I don't want to talk about it." Anna said and everyone didn't try to force her.
"If that's the case then it's my turn. I heard that my mutant power is Organic Manipulation and Adaptation." Adam said reach out his forearm to Bobby.
"Here, try to freeze my body with all your might." His request perflex everyone knowing how dangerous it is.
"I don't think that's a good idea. You might lose an arm if I make a mistake." Bobby said.
"Nah, I'd adapt." Adam said with a wide grin and Bobby was unsure but decided to do it anyway with everyone anxiously as he held Adam arms and started to freeze it but the moment it showed signs of being frozen suddenly started to fade away and Bobby felt that he could freeze Adam anymore.
"Woah! You're right, I can't seem to freeze you anymore." Bobby said. Anna saw this and was awed, wondering if she was able to touch him without accidentally killing him.
"Told yah. I haven't met anyone that was able to kill me Physically or Mentally." Adam said.
"You mention organic manipulation? Do you know the full scope of it?" Jubilee asked.
"I don't know, I haven't tried going all out considering it might become dangerous."
Adam is unsure what scale his mutant powers were but he doesn't want to know considering it might get out of hand really quick. He can adapt doesn't mean people around him could.
"Alright, enough about powers. Let's talk about something else!" Kitty said trying to change the subject as they began to chat about different topics sharing things to Adam that he wasn't aware of.
"So you going shopping with Ms. Munroe?" Kitty asked.
"Yeah, I don't have a lot of stuff and I'm eager to know what it's like to be in the outside world." Adam said.
"Oh, then why don't we come with you! We can show you around and have fun while we're at it!?" Jubilee said.
"That's a great idea! We can head down the mall and go shopping. I assume you don't have a lot of clothes with you?" Bobby said.
"Yeah. But I'd rather familiarize myself around the mansion first. Maybe tomorrow?" Adam said.
"Great! Let's finish up breakfast and we'll give you the best tour!" Jubilee said.
