"We should do something bigger," Noah suggested. "Something that really makes people think."
Ella raised an eyebrow. "Like what? Solving world hunger?"
"Maybe not that big," Noah said with a grin. "But what if we tackled something about mental health? Like, the pressures we all face but don't talk about."
Ella considered it. "That could be powerful. But it has to be honest—not just a glossy, feel-good thing."
"Agreed," Noah said. "Honest it is."
They began brainstorming ideas, this time without the looming pressure of a deadline. It felt freer, more organic.
As they worked on their new project, they were joined by an unexpected collaborator: Maya, a shy sophomore who admired their work from afar.
"I-I don't want to intrude," Maya stammered one day after school, clutching a notebook to her chest. "But I think what you're doing is amazing. If you need any help, I'd love to be a part of it."
Noah and Ella exchanged a look.
"We could use another perspective," Ella said. "And an extra pair of hands."
